How could we implement cross progression in a way that would work for players, devs, and licensees?
I have played on Xbox, But I have a good PC that I would like to switch to. The reasons I could think of for as to why cross progression hasn't been implemented are as follows:
- Licensees are unable to allow a purchased killer/survivor to be transfered because the platform (Steam, Microsoft, Sony) that the killer/survivor is being transferred to didn't get their cut of the purchase.
- Devs are unable to make cross progression work because of some reason (i.e. do not know how to do it)
- Greed, they want people to pay for everything again, and get a ton more playtime in order to get the teachables, items, and add ons that they have on their main account. Personally I am assuming the first point to be the actual issue and I may have a happy alternative that I sure hope can be considered. As a side note, my personal favorite option is the bloodpoint cross progression. Honestly if they made the millions of bloodpoints I have earned on xbox available on pc as well there is huge incentive to purchase the DLC killers/survivors I like to play on the new platform.

Obviously the dream is full cross progression, but if that is just not an option then at the very least let bloodpoints earned be available across platforms. I don't want the devs to take cross progression off of their radar just because there may be a real and legitimate reason that they can't make certain parts of the game transfer. The reason I said bp is my favorite option is because it is the most realistic option that also would do nothing but help the community. It can't be that hard to make how much bp you have earned in DBD be one number across all platforms. Play xbox for a month, then go back to pc and be able to try a different killer because you have some bp saved up. win win. :)

Any bloodpoints that you earn or have earned are also earned across platforms. This will mean that DLC and cosmetics will still have to be purchased but the time you spent on the game will be the same across all platforms in terms of bloodpoint progression
Obviously I would prefer to have everything transferred. But I got the game on console and have invested a huge amount of time, and I want more than anything to switch to computer. I would be perfectly happy to buy everything again if I could just not have to grind the tens of millions of bloodpoints. DO YOU HEAR THAT BHVR, LOTS OF FREE MONEY IF YOU GIVE US CROSS PROGRESSION!

No license cross progression, this will mean any purchases you have made in DBD that are for unlicensed killers/survivors are available across all platforms.
Sure, same should go with ranks, as why should you play with "noobs" when you have rank 1 on console, right? Also they should unlock all perks you have unlocked. Oh, and they can already give you everything maxed bcs why not.
The point is : its your fault if you buy game for wrong platform. And its not like you have to grind few months to just have fun from game, many people play even without any perks just like that, for fun xD. To be honest i dont see point in it, as you can already play on xbox with friends who play it on PC, so you dont even need to change rig you play on to be able to play with friends.
If i had to choose i would rather recommend them work on few maps that for some reason cant hold stable FPS (for example osmond). It have much higher impact on game, as survivors have harder time to hit skill checks. So i would suggest either rework this map entirely or do something to optimize it to the point where 90% would be able to play without any performance trouble. Every single time i have to play on this map after lobby in chat is discussion about ######### optimized map so its not just me, heck, i can bet even you (whoever read this) had fps drops on osmond :P

Full Cross progression, this will mean all DLC, BP, teachables, items, and add ons will be synced directly across all platforms.
I'd love full cross progression but it simply isn't possible with the license killers. If the game was all original then it would be easier but since Switch doesn't even have Leatherface and companies make more money if everything is seperate, it won't happen. At the very least they could make bloodpoints, rank, and non licensed skins cross play.
