So those on the PTB: how bad is new sabotage situation?

I'm on PS4 so haven't got the ability to play the PTB...but I've heard the sabotage situation is insane now. Is it really that bad? Cheers.

At base you sabotage a hook in 2.5 seconds, from any angle. Toolboxes have fewer charges now, seems to be ~ triple the repair speed but a quarter of the charges.

Saboteur highlights all hooks within 52m of where a survivor gets picked up, has a minute cooldown but you can go and 2.5 second pop a hook and buy a survivor more wiggle time.

Hooks respawn after 30 seconds now, instead of 3 minutes (outside of the Breakdown Perk) but that hardly matters since the damage is done anyway. So it'll be a slug meta after this, and the second chance perks are gonna be out in full force with For The People coupled with Decisive strike now people can insta-heal instead of burning a once per trial Unbreakable or Adrenaline.

I really don't think it's that bad, previously you'd have people 99 the hooks, and then if someone were to get picked up, they'd run over, hit it for 0.1 of a second and drop the hook, now the survivors have to come off the gens earlier, figure out which hook, then spend 2.5 seconds dropping it.

Obviously in PTB it's going be a lot more egregious because people are throwing themselves in front of the killer to test out the new perk, and every killer I went against when playing the PTB was over rank 15, so they didn't have as much game knowledge or situational awareness as a higher ranked player so the videos you see of it are grossly misrepresented.

I think it brings back a very dead mechanic in the game, and it's opening the opportunity for more "meta" perks, I can see me running this instead of DH/Unbreakable because it's so fun to try and use.

I think we will have to wait for the DLC to see, as a lot of people don't play the PTB for long and switch back to the normal game quickly.

The new sabotage definitely has the potential to make the killer's experience hell. The next weeks will show whether players will use the new mechanic to its fullest.

I so much hope they increase the time it takes to sabo at least by 5 seconds.

Pretty bad, very unfair to killers to de your their one objective.

This is thr usual big Buff to survivors ah and insta heals are back

Yeah tbh it's basically "all the hooks are pre 99%d, so barely any time wasted except the killer's as usual"

If it gets more people to stop doing gens and run around dicking hooks all game I see it as a legit buff to killer. I like the change (for the most part)

It is weird. Better and worse. Because it is new, I've seen a lot of 4 man sabo squads. I counted 10 this weekend. They run BO, Sabo, MoM, DH and literally follow you around. Initially, it was seriously annoying, but eventually, it turned into a mind game. IG is useful, as you can drop your quarry and down another, then get them in 30 seconds when the hook returns.

The other thin I noticed was how long the matches were. 3 to 4 off of gens at all times, trying for that hook sabo. I started baiting it. Pick up the survivor, find another running, drop and down that one, but won't leave the area in chase.

In short, long matches, lots of BP, and 4k in 8 out of the 10. 1 of th 10 had 3 escape, but I still zero pipped due to the several downs, pallets, hooks, chases and gen kicks. One 2k.

New sabo takes some getting used to, but is completely mind gameable.

I'll be honest, I think the wiggle progression from the survivor should be removed if this change goes forward. Otherwise, the killer can be placed into positions where they have absolutely no less-bad moves they can take. And it never feels good to know that you'll be screwed regardless of what you do.

Its looks pretty balanced in baseline. Sabo may be used more, but its still needs a good amount of tactical gameplay, which can be countered as easily as before by experienced killers. Also its now much better fpr killers cause survivors cannot empty half of the map beforehand.
