Disconnect cooldown and disconnect bans
Hello Everyone
I am a new player and I am enjoying the game immensely for the most part.
Unfortunately, I reside in an area with sometimes-spotty internet. About a week ago we had some issues and my disconnect penalty increased to 1 hour.
I've been playing every day since then, without issues or disconnects. Today my internet cut out again during a match, and I was shocked to see my penalty was still 1 hour, so there was no apparent decay.
A couple of questions:
1) Is it possible to receive some indication of how the cooldown should work? Does in-game time matter or just wall-clock time? The cooldown implementation itself could have bugs and it would be important for people to be able to report when their actual disconnect penalty is much different than the desired implementation.
2) Has there been any official word on whether disconnects may result in a ban? I've enjoyed the game so much, I would like to purchase all DLC, but I won't do so if there's a future ban hanging over my head because of my internet issues.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses.
Warmest Regards,
Martin Johnson

Unfortunately, we don't have any official word on either of those. The devs have intentionally not disclosed any information about how the cooldown works, nor about how the escalation process works (and therefore, whether or not it is possible to get banned), for fear of it being abused.
I agree with you that it would be good to have some clue about how the system works in order to be able to report bugs with it, though, and I understand your concerns. Perhaps @MandyTalk would be able to shed some light on the banning issue, at the very least.

Isn't this the same post I already answered before?
Why was it re-posted again? Was this an accident? Or was this intentional...?

Judging from his post history, I'd say he posted this, it didn't go through because of the spam filter, then he posted that topic about his post disappearing, then he decided to repost, then the original topic came through the filter and now there are two.

On xbox they removed it, no penality...

Apparently, they have disabled the dedicated servers on Xbox for the time being, so that would be why the disconnection penalty is also gone, since it relied on the servers to function.

If you scroll down you can literally see the same post that I answered before, he posted about something else being taken by the spam filer I think.
If it was that post, than it still exists. I don't see why the post was re-posted instead of just waiting for it to return.

Yes, I saw your answer. But it's entirely possible, as I explained, that he didn't see it until after he reposted the discussion, not realising that the original thread had been swallowed by the spam filter and thinking it had simply disappeared.

Who knows, only the OP does and they seem satisfied with both answers anyways.
