Why do so many perks force you to M1
If you've seen Otz's latest videos he goes over every perk in the game and reviews them before Deathslinger releases. One aspect I noticed is a lot of perks that aren't that useful force you to M1, they don't reward using your ability. My question is why? I understand certain things might be strong if say hatchets or your shred hits them, but it's not overpowered. I feel if a good amount of forced M1 perks also changed to reward using your shred, dash, etc. It would be amazing and would make a lot of useless perks viable

No idea. It's also weird that the best perk that has an effect when downing survivors works for ANYTHING, even grabs ffs. Then you have a dumpster-fire of a perk like Surge that only works on M1 downs and it just baffles me that it has such a limitation and infectious doesn't.

I know it's so annoying. Why give killers abilities and perks when using both doesn't coordinate together. It's just really dumb in my opinion. Oh you want to use save the best for last? Sorry got be an M1 killer or your ability is pointless

I know it's so annoying. They create killers and perks and don't make them work together efficiently. Most of their perks are actually cripples and that's why people stick to certain ones. Oh you want to use save the best for last? Sorry got be an M1 like Michael or it's pointless.

It's even more odd when you think about how Surge is a perk for Demogorgon. He can't use his shred to apply his own perk...

Not every killer has an alternate method of attack, and it'd be nice to see SOME killers use their basic attack once in a while.

Pretty sure they don't want Power-specific Perks, cause that'll create additional work on all Killers & all Power-specific Perks with each new Killer.

Basic attack is half your arsenal and 90% of killer primary attack? Just cause Billy can 1 shot down someone anytime he likes doesn't mean that a majority aren't M1 killers. Most powers just reduce a health state.

Exactly so if their power is basically the same as an M1 but they don't get the benefits of using said perks with their ability then why use them. That's my point

Their abilities use the add-ons.
Legion could stack STBFL stacks easy but circumvented the stipulation that you couldn't hit the obsession, so once again Legion had to get something nerfed for breaking the game. His power also applies debuff actions like breaking the target and finding more so they probably felt it already did too much for little investment.
Pig is a bit more abstract. Her Ambush attack goes much faster than her run speed (despite people saying it's slow as #########....liars). So they probably felt it would have taken priority over her normal attack every time. Aside from that, her beartraps are her main power, not her M1. Though she needs to down them first to use the traps. Although if she was too good at downing survivors then she wouldn't need the traps.
Same goes for Demogorgon. While Shred could be considered another M1 attack, the benefits of gaining more ground in a single attack outweigh it's individual importance. And it's also more of a side-grade to his main power which is the portals.
All in all though it felt like a late design decision when they implemented it. Remains to be seen if they decide to do another sweep over their add-ons anytime soon. But as far as build variety goes, they did their job getting people to use different perks.

Well how is a perk for wraith cloaking going to benefit any of other killer? Lol for example, they would have to change so much, they would break so much stuff in the process, they wouldn't have the time or will to do it
