Decisive Strike

Curious to see what your guys thoughts on this are.

Decisive Strike is a very powerful perk, and there have been countless discussions on how to make it more fair.

Now that the active ability button can be used at dropped pallets to stand them up, I thought of this idea.

To activate Decisive Strike, hold the activate ability button next to a pallet to destroy it and create a wooden spike.

The rest of the perk stays the same.

Would this be a good change?

No. As long as killers are allowed to camp and tunnel as they please, DS should stay as is.

Requiring survivors to actually have an item to stab a killer might be an interesting change.

I think they could collect a piece from a broken pallet though since it would make a lot more sense.

Make sure it's still one time use, still 60 second timer (which is too long) and it would be more interesting to use. Maybe the killer gets a survivor before they can get their weapon which would encourage more strategic play to a small degree.

    Definitely interesting.

it's actually useless if the killer doesn't tunnel. i don't think it needs changing but thats just my opinion

Decisive is actually really good because it teaches killers the value of slugging. Just leave the dude on the ground for a minute. One of the survivors on the generator has to come get him, and you can chase someone else.

Flashlights used to serve a similar purpose but they're so weak nobody really uses them now. (be honest) It's exactly the same as someone being in position for a flashlight save. Ya dun gone picked up that survivor real quick and didn't think about it for a second, now you're in the chase phase again.

Having someone on a hook, someone slugged, and currently being in a chase with someone is a very strong position to be in. Learn it. Use it.

    Goo

That's a fair point as camping and tunneling are annoying.

I like your idea better than mine. A broken pallet would make more sense. It would make DS slightly weaker as you'd have to either find a broken pallet or drop one in a chase, have the killer break it and then run back to it to get your wooden spike. I like it.
