Has the ping limit in dedicated servers matchmaking been changed?

Question.

A few minutes ago, I loaded into a lobby with 133 ping, I thought this strange as my normal ping is 65. I wrote this off as a temporary ping spike and proceeded to the match, but then I noticed that things were feeling laggy and my game was abnormally "dedicated".

Skip forward to the end of the match.

I asked the survivors which server we were on, the reply: North American. The problem? I am from Europe and do not have a VPN. There was no reason for me to be in those servers.

So I ask, Has the matchmaker ping limit been changed without warning?

If so, please revert these changes, while the game was not absolutely unplayable, It was far from a pleasing experience. One of the survivors seemed to share my opinion, as they mentioned being hit through walls and told me to "Get the **ck out" when I told them I was from EU.

    That happens when one region doesn't have enough players and queue times are bad: Players get connected to servers from far-away regions so they get matched faster with other players.

    This caused problems for Xbox players on a regular basis (not a big playercount in total on Xbox) and therefore dedicated servers got deactivated for that platform.

    Apparently it's not intended and the devs have to add a restriction so that these wild connections won't happen anymore.

    Well, I was queuing at 5 AM, so. . .

    I was confused as I thought they had restricted it to the closest server a while ago.

    Anyways, thank you for answering my question.

    Had 200-280 ping... in last week I can play in any moment without this problem. I think the servers is down and then connect with another region.

    I have the same thing happen to me now and then but the other way around. I'm from NA and will get paired with Europe if it takes too long to find a match. I don't know if its always been like that but even before dedicated I was still paired with Europeans a lot if it took too long to find a match. It got so bad at one point I started to use BPS whenever I saw green ping since it was so rare, like 1 every 10 games or so.
