I thought DS stun was increased because of enduring?
At least according to their own posts that was the reason it was increased from 3-5 second so enduring didn’t make it useless... but now that enduring was changed to only affect pallets shouldn’t DS be changed back @Peanits ?

I appreciate you trying but its a survivor perk used in like 95% of all games so wont be nerfed.

Yeah it’s odd that the DS stun time wasn’t addressed at the same time as the enduring rework?
15 -
It won't possibly be changed any time soon to not being a perk that rewards the survivor for making a mistake

if i remember correctly the answer to this is "the survivor needs time to escape"
yeah or to just quickly unhook in your face or get that 99%ed gen done real quick or to jump in a locker and get their head on charged, etc before you can move again.
cause that is "fair and balanced"
lol imagine killers having stun perks... like, "a survivor blinding you with a flashlight gets stunned in place for 5 seconds". i bet these would be instantly removed / reworked, cause stuns are unfun / unfair...

In just two seconds (normal pallet stun duration), a survivor can cover 24 meters of distance, that's more than enough considering every map has pallets in close proximity to each other, not to mention windows as well. No reason as to why the survivor needs more time to run. They got the stun, that's all that's needed. Anything more than that and it's just a crutch hand holding baby perk. DS should have normal pallet stun duration, and let it be directly countered by Enduring.

Well, the killer has a 5 second stun but the survivor get the chance to move after one second. Meaning they have four seconds to move. It was made so the survivor could have a chance to ecape a tunneling killer.
Hmm don't missunderstand me but Where did you find that data? If I recall correctly, the survivors move at 100% while running, wich is 4 m/s that makes 8 meters in two seconds, of course, the destroy animation last 2 seconds as well so it would be 4 m x 4 m = 16 meters in a straight line, and that if a survivor decide to cover all the distance, wich generally doesn't happen. If, the survivor has a perk like lithe after using it, the survivor would run at 6 m / s in three seconds wich is 18 meters in a straight line but for using lithe the survivor should vaul either a window or a pallet. Meaning the killer shouldn't be stunned by that time.
DS shouldn't be countered by Enduring because you're negating the effect of being an anti-tunnel perk, because a Killer would have 1 second stun if the stun time were 2 seconds (normal pallet stun), and that's not enough for a survivor to escape the killer's grasp

That would seem logical, wouldn't it?
😏

If You get stunned you deserved it like 98% of the time.
2 -
This is why nobody takes you seriously. Because you have clearly never played killer beyond brown ranks.
*Hooks survivor. Goes, downs and hooks two more...goes to gen and finds first survivor, downs them and picks them up, gets DS'd* - Yep totally deserved it.
*Hooks survivor. Finds another, hooks them. Original survivor comes in for the unhook right in my face and I grab them during the save. They DS me and run out the door* - Yep, totally deserved it.

It's a survivor perk therefore it's perfectly balanced

I've asked Peanits about this directly a few times, since it keeps coming up. He has so far decided not to respond to any questions about it.
1 -
You recommending a survivor buff?
LUL

This isn’t a question about it being anti tunnel or not, the point is it used to be 3 seconds and was buffed to 5 so that even after Enduring was applied it was still 3 seconds... now enduring doesn’t affect it but they left it at 5 and didn’t revert to 3... and like someone said @Peanits And @not_Queen and all the other devs duck this question on forums and stream Q and A

There probably will never be an answer by @Peanits , @Almo , @not_Queen or any other devs in this regard. On top it will probably never be changed back to the original 3 seconds, because this would be unfun 😛
3 -
I don't mind the time but just remove DS effect if they do objective gens etc and during EGC.
2 -
Or you hook someone else
1 -
Heck, change the timer to stunning for ten minutes if you can keep people from using it as a free stun without any risk.
1 -
3s is just nonsense as anti-tunneling, as long as 5s are already not enough to prevent tunneling. This much of gamesense should be expected if you wanna talk big.
0 -
It used to be 3s and no one complained...
0 -
Thats wrong. There were always threads that the stun time being not long enough to make DS being anti-tunneling.

The amount of times I've had a recently unhooked survivor cheese the time by going for hook saves. hex totems or 99 gens is ridiculous.
I wasn't even after you until I saw you doing x but I still get punished
1 -
Yep, no comment on this because there is no current argument for it that isn't "We favor survivors."
