What do you consider “wasting a pallet?”
I think everyone had a sudden definition, I’ll start with me and include some things that come into play. The only time I truly consider it a wasted pallet is if you eat a hit AND drop the pallet.
People who camp a pallet and wait literally 10 seconds for the killer are also frustrating teammates but maybe it’s better than them eating a hit and going down and forcing you to waste time saving them?
So does it matter in your opinion if it’s first hit or a hit to go down?
Does it matter how many gens are left?
Does their looping ability matter, would you rather bad loopers drop it early to be safe... like I said above to avoid the team hopping of gens to unhook them?

To me, dropping god pallet will always be considered a waste unless at least one of the following conditions are true:
- To save someone from being carried into the basement
- There is 1 or less gens remaining
I also would consider dropping a pallet as a waste if you are fully healed, excluding killers with an insta down.

Dropping a loopable pallet by camping it
Dropping a god pallet when uninjured
Dropping pallets early when you ain't going vs Doctor
Dropping a pallet and getting injured when doing so
For me pallets can be used when uninjured as long as it's not a god pallet like a basementless shack

When they run to a pallet and instead of looping they stand there. Wait till the killer gets close then drop it. I consider that wasting a pallet.

Taking a hit while dropping a pallet.
Waiting at a pallet when they can easily get another loop with little/no risk (especially if the killer can see them waiting).
Dropping a god pallet on the first loop. Unless you're injured, or there's one gen left and you don't have adrenaline, it's more worth to take a hit so you can get more loops from it.
Literally dropping every pallet you run past without checking if the killer is close to you (way too many players in red ranks who do this).

I consider that a waste too but let me ask this, shat if they don’t k or the distance required to loop or are unsure if they’ll make it to the next loop? Should they camp and drop it to avoid taking a hit? At least they’re wasting the killer time

There are so many pallets on each map that if the team is doing gens, barely anything counts as a wasted pallet imo. If you get hit while dropping a pallet or you drop one with someone slugged next to it thats the only way i see them as a waste.

Getting hit after dropping the pallet.

If you can be sure the other 3 are doing gens this is so true. I think if I ran a killer from start of the match and dropped pallets safely every time then I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t get hit before all five gens are done. I would love someone to sit down and do the math, or try KYF on every map to see if this actually works.

If they don't have the distance to loop than it's fine. I'm talking about people who see the killer coming to them, they have plenty of distance, they go to a pallet and stand there for like 5 seconds then drop it once the killer gets close. I only see new or noob players doing this but I do consider it to be a waste. They could have looped me at least twice with the time it took me to get to them. They were either scared or simply don't know there's something better they could be doing.

When the killer is a mile away and someone just waits at the pallet wanting a stun. Like r u n or l ö ö p.

This is a good list - I would add 'going vs Doctor or Huntress'. Sometimes you need to drop early to make distance and not get punished with a hatchet.

Your whole team continuing to go down and die with pallets still propped up everywhere. Red rank is trash compared to a year ago

The only wasted pallet is the one dropped when you weren't in danger.
Or you still got hit.
Basically, if it saved you a health state, it was a good pallet use. Since that's literally why they exist...

I consider it a waste when:
- They camp in front of it instead of looping
- They drop it too early
- When they get hit through the pallet but still drop it.
- Failed to save
The worst is when they don't use any other loop while doing these things. There are window loops right there stop burning though the pallets! D:

"The only time I truly consider it a wasted pallet is if you eat a hit AND drop the pallet."
That's honestly it.
Even if the survivors run straight to every pallet and drop it immediately with zero looping at all, there are still more than enough pallets to finish all 5 gens before you run out.

Anytime you slam the shack pallet, no matter when, start of match middle of match, end of match, dont ever touch the shack pallet.

Oh yes for sure, but sometimes it's not always as simple as they slammed the pallet altering getting hit, sometimes I have pressed the button already at the same time killer has lunged at me, and also it's sometimes just a reflects, you get so use to slamming them, sometimes you really just dont mean to slam it, but you ended up doing it lol

Failing a save I can forgive if they’re close, I’ve had situations where I didn’t have time to crawl to the pallet, I’m talking like 10 meters away still and a teammate drops it when the killer picks me up... like ######### now he knows you’re there and you used a pallet

Pallets are resources to avoid getting hit or downed, use them!
I would call it a "waste" if you used a pallet but still got smacked through or downed.

People who srops pallets vs legion when he/she is in feral frenzy

I view a pallet wasted if it doesn't stun the killer or isn't used to loop the killer. If you drop the pallet and the killer just backs up then breaks it and you didn't run at least 1 loop I see that pallet as wasted.
