I’m tired of trying to kill higher rank survivors then me
I keep getting purple rank survivors and red ranks while I’m in green ranks they aren’t survive with friends either I was getting red ranks to start out with before I hit green ranks

You've got to get better, watch some streamers if it helps. Otherwise, it will happen. Just try to adapt to their level.

I'm in yellow ranks and have gotten purple and red. Believe me, it's a pain but this is a good opportunity to learn from these survivors and adapt to them. If you want to climb up in ranks, you're going to have to get used to the survivors and learn from them. Learn from in game experiences or even watch streamers/youtubers.
Again, it's frustrating and a pain in the butt but it is useful in becoming a better killer. It will be satisfying later on that you can take on higher ranks than you with ease.

I don't blame you one bit dude. It's insane the neglect the devs have for their own game to allow this to go on for long.
If you wanted to stop playing killer or move to a different game, I would understand. There is not much you can do about it besides either just keep trucking through it or giving up and going to something else.
I suggest sticking with it if you have the patience, if not, then well.... the latter is probably the better choice.

I love the game but I’m casual player because I play other games too but they need to fix their game for sure because as a casual player I play the game a lot sometimes then stop playing rank rest happens go back to playing it’s a little here and there then rank reset so it’s frustrating

After I got my rank 1 achivement as killer, I stopped trying to kill the optimal survivors. Killing them just isnt fun and aint worth the sweat in my opinion. I let them finish their gens in peace, open the gate for them, and move on to the next match.

I've stopped trying to rank up. Now I'm just playing for memes and for practice. Why rank up to red when I'm already facing them anyway?

Ehh I get that it’s not me ranking up that I’m worried about though it’s the unfun games because of me constantly getting people who shouldn’t be ranked with me 🤷🏻♀️

Rank 12 vs 4 rank 2 just now ... There must just be no killer players on PS4 and I can understand why. This isn't fun. I'm not a masochist, I have other games to play.

No, they don't have to get better. Not everyone wants to be super competitive in this game. They shouldn't have to adapt to any level but their own. You shouldn't have to watch streams outside of a game to get better either.
The Developers need to do a better job but I doubt they will. They already plan to hide rankings in the future so people won't be able to complain. All it will do is make more Killer mains stop playing.

Same with me. I got into this game because Ohmwreckers video somehow got into my YouTube feed, and I don't even watch people play games. I checked it out and it was entertaining. I assumed all matches are like his videos, never knew about tunneling, camping or looping. I just saw him trying to run away from the scary killer.
He isn't even that great at looping, but when he is matched with equal skill killers, it looks fun and that's what I thought this game is.
I think my problem is that I spent a lot of time on this game since I started and don't just want to quit. But the more I look at DbD videos and the more I see its history and how the devs let some crazy crap into the game, the more I think that I need to try new pastures in the world of gaming.

Didnt know that. Wish it was that way for PC. Cause high rank on PC just sucks as killer thus getting the achievement for it.

But you can't trust that the devs, will do everything right. Let alone quickly fix this problem. To be honesty, I learned how to play killer this way. I was always a killer main, and I had to learn how to deal with certain survivors. I see it as; you learn more ways to cope with toxic survivors, or wait for the devs to fix their problems. With all due respect of course.

Honestly, the problem with game developers and gamers is that gamers are addicted to the games and the developers know this. If gamers would protest by not playing then that would light a fire under developer butts. Instead, players just suffer until they can't take it anymore.

I'm just saying, The Devs know what needs to be fixed. Meanwhile, we should enjoy the game because of how unique it is. Everyone is always talking about the game problems, instead of enjoy what make us keep coming back for more. All I see in discussions are complaints about the game. No one talks about the great things of this game. Its basically, "I got tunneled and camped, the devs need to remove this, they are not doing their job". Give them some time and please release the pressure on their shoulders. With all due respect of course.

They had more than enough time to fix matchmaking. People have been complaining about it for months, at least 8 months now actually. Matchmaking is not hard, pair up people of the same or plus/minus 1/2 ranks.
People don't play games because they're unique, they play them because they're fun to play. The uniqueness can make it fun, but only for so long. There will always be complaints, Tunneling/Camping/NoEd will always be hated and cried about. Devs know to ignore those, and most players do as well. They deserve all the pressure they get. It is their fault that their is a lack of Killers and why lobby times is long for many people.
Make killers stressful and unenjoyable, lose players. Hence why they refuse to fix matchmaking, because any appropriate fix would reveal how low the number of Killers truly is and people in higher ranks would be waiting forever. So now, you're going to get hidden ranks so they can bandaid it. Just recently they it was leaked that they were going to hide ranks in the tally screen but had it pulled because of the leak. Now they're just going to remove them completely.
Make the game fun, more will come, more will stay. The worse it is, the more players should leave.

So, I logged into my fiance's steam account. She's basically all around rank 20 in everything. I went as a perkless Wraith and got to rank 10 (before went back to my account to play Doc and Ghostface) in like 3 hours...from rank 16 to 10, I faced purple and red rank survivors.
Want to know what's funny? They played no differently than the rank 15+ survivors I was facing. It's so easy to rank up as survivor, potatoes exist at all ranks.

Same for console, except a lot less killers on console, so if you’re a high rank survivor, you’ll be waiting 20+ minutes for a game just for them to dodge you (if you piss them off, they can recognize you since there are so few players on console in general).

Now, we can't "DC" but me and my friends are afk under the hook to "get killed", the most fun game is to play with noob killers (ranks 20 to 14)
NO, im not a noob, have more than 2k hours played, we found this way SOOOO much fun (as I said, leveling up is worthless if they give no rewards)
Devs can't push us and tell us "how" to play. we play how WE want.

I am not touching killer or this game till things as far as matchmakign are concerned are addressed. Matching brown ranks with red ranks for survs' que sakes is bollocks. So is any 2 ranks higher game. Yellow with purples. greens with reds. It total and utter ...yeah you know the word
After ten years in wow i only this week got loremaster title. Every single quest in the entire game. Something like over 9000 quests. In wow they fix things when they are broken and it does not take a year for them to fix things either.

Yesterday at rank 11 on my killer I got 4 Rank 1's and they were absolute jerks at the end game chat cause they all got away. I am looking forward to the rank fix.

You need to put alot of hours in this game as killer for it to not be a completely miserable experience. Until ranks are fixed, try playing an easier killer.

If they were serious about fixing MM and ranks, the highest ranked surv should pull in a ranked killer appropriate to their rank. No exceptions. If wait times take longer then so be it. Because there's absolutely no reason for killers to rank up. And hiding ranks won't fix anything.

I don't ever post but I mean an average would be better. I main surv but mainly because the matchmaking for killer ks so painful. Almost every match ive had has been people rank 16+ which isnt much until you realize I'm a rank 19 and a low 19 at that.
I'm not even mad about the tier 16 rounds tbh. Thats at least... Reasonable I guess. Its when you're putting me with a 10 and 8, too. How is that fair? I'm lowet toer than all them. Especially for people trying to learn killer/ learn a new killer! All it results in is the survivors bullying them.
Sure I should get gud, but why is it fair that because a tier 18 is with me that the rest can be tier5-12? I'm just saying that it should at LEAST be an average.

The game is a giant load of BS, it's loaded with so many crippling problems, random things, no matchmaking, just an absolute hot mess.
That's kinda a good thing though. Once you come to terms with that, you realize it really doesn't matter how well you do by any stretch of the imagination.
Struggling and feel bad? Play as a killer you already suck at even more, take no perks or addons; by all rights you shouldn't even be able to really get a kill; but you will still, and it will feel amazing.
You are under no obligation to follow any dumb meta, just have fun with it.

completely agree! I belive there should be 1-3 rank window between killer and highest rank survivor in the group (in case they're SWF). Me being rank 12 killer having to face 1-5 rank survivor is not fair at all. I believe nowadays matchmaking mechanism is completely randomised, if it's not then someone is not doing best job.

That's kind of a stupid way of looking at it. If I want to get good at Mortal Kombat, I don't start by playing against pros. I play with people of my skill level, get better, move on.
People who complain about matchmaking aren't upset because they aren't getting easy 4Ks or escapes, they're complaining because it's not even close. You don't learn basketball by 1v1ing Lebron James, you play against people of similar skill levels and gradually get better.
