Nerf Oni

People seem to be owning with Oni lately. Most games Oni has blood lust like half the time and his steering and speed are insane. With infectious fright you’re just screwed. He downs someone, survivors in the area scream, he uses his rage to haul ass over and hit you at a 270 degree angle... it’s ridiculous. And of course these downs jget him to rage faster. He just seems to be decimating teams. There should be a longer cooldown or limit on his maneuverability. Something. I’m red ranks and red rank Oni games are not fun.

I find the Blood Orbs annoying but there are things you can do to extend the Chase. My only complaint with him is probably related to latency, he seems to hit very very far and in my experience he should be hitting obstacles like cars but it clips the item and strikes me few meters away. I made a crude graphic on my phone to depict it:

Many survivors dont know the weakness of oni and that is beyond me how ppl still dont know? You delay his first hit as long as possible, just dropp all the pallets on the entire map, you dont need them anyway in his power. I managed to delay the first hit of some onis for 4-5min after 3-4 gens. Easy as that.

I'm red rank, and I so enjoyed to face with Oni.

Ive had the opposite problem playing Oni. There are times where I would have hit the survivor but the Oni hits a wall or something instead. Its like they go from on screen to no in less than a second.

    1. pretty much nobody plays oni man.
    2. how about you get some experience in actually playing Oni and you would then learn what his weaknesses are that you can then exploit as survivor

honestly this is not rocket science.....

Oni is fine, his power grow exponentially as he hit survivors wich mean if you are good at not being hit and he is not a good killer you can destroy him, literally a killer that prayse skill and punish the opposite.

I disagree with you man. I think people forget that these other 4 survivors that killers play against are PEOPLE too. And customers. Nobody’s trying to ######### over killers man. It’s really a cry for help. I don’t want to invest in a game where killers just zip around the map making it impossible to do gens or chase because they’re ######### insanely fast. There’s no need for the speed ONi or Trapper have. It’s ridiculous. I’d rather quit the game. How about instead of being so killer minded you take into consideration being in queue times longer or stacking up against rank 1 SWF only because that’s all that’s left ? They need a nerf man. It’s kinda unfair coming from a solo perspective. Oni just stomps around at a million miles an hour and can track blood and one hit slug fest and what not like.... nah. It’s unnecessarily too much. I just don’t have any fun playing against some of these killers to where I’m like okay ... I’m okay with that - when I die. It’s more deflating than anything. I’m not saying I feel entitled to survive but i can’t even get on a gen when there’s more than enough left and none have been done yet because he’s flying around everywhere and putting people down? If me not bleeding is that important to keeping me alive slow his ass down so I can break free. Sometimes you can’t even find a pallet fast enough to break away from Oni. Dude like nah.... Idk why anyone even has to explain this to you. I’m not racking up points when I see teammates go down and gens aren’t getting done. Every hook matters every down matters. Some of the Killers just ######### suck sometimes they take the fun out of the game. That slugging, one hitting, and camping needs to be eliminated. Like yeah you inevitably found me, why is there a dead end here, why does this vault allow me to die on the other side because the killer has god like Melee range attacks, why does Oni charge up so fast and fly at you like that? These are all things that I’d just rather back out. I’m a rank 9-11 I typically float around there. But it’s just deflating. I want a good chase where I can get some pallets dropped, stuns in, gain some distance, And some killers you really can do that. It’s enjoyable and you get points which is why I’m there. I could care less about dying sure get your kills. But don’t short me on points. This is my time and my money I gave you guys. It not all about the killer.

I just think lack of map design puts survivors at a disadvantage. Dead ends, Piss poor environmental cover, swamp seems to be great though! small obstacles in your way, things you get stuck on during a chase, lack of hiding places - I really don’t think the occasional obvious locker is sufficient 😂 sometimes there just are no lockers when you need them in certain areas. But then others will have 6 lockers lined up in a row. I saw that earlier today and I was like that seems ridiculous as hell lmao 4 lockers side by side and 1 across in An area on Prenn asylum I think it was? lmao Anyways small maps are trash, spread out the gens so killers can sonic the hedgehog their way over there to catch you before you get 10% progression.

    actually, regarding point #2:

oni has an attack window of 180° - so he can turn 90° is each direction.

just to clarify, as there has previously been a time where he had an overall attack window of 90°, which ment a possible 45° flick to both sides.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Trapper is not a fast killer at all, infact the highest speed he can move at (without Play With Your Food/NOED) is 4.6 m/s or otherwise the base 115% that most killers in this game have. Regarding Oni, slugging is a necessary part of winning against good teams as it's simply impossible to obtain a decent level of pressure by just 3 hooking everyone, in addition to this slugging is what makes Oni good. If Oni couldn't slug, he'd be extremely weak because his power is built around slugging.

Oni is not in need of any nerfs aside from one of his addons called scalped topknot. While yes he's hard to deal with when he has his power up, he isn't like Spirit who doesn't provide feedback on what she's doing, he isn't like Myers who is suddenly going to go T3 the moment he sees you without knowing how charged his stalk is. There is a perfect opportunity to prepare for his power as it makes a global sound cue and when you hear it, it's best to split up so he cannot slug (which again is what makes him as good as he is). Additionally he has one of the worst early games in the game (with both Myers and Trapper being the only killers with a worse early game than him), playing it safe when he doesn't have his power up will bar him from getting it for a considerable enough amount of time. His flick is only 90 degrees, this means that if you suspect he will flick at some point during his dash when you're going around a corner, try to run in a different direction as he will not be able to hit you after he has turned a total of 90 degrees.

I will admit, he does snowball hard and he is hard to counter (borderline uncounterable if he has scalped topknot) and a majority of the time he will get at least one down in his power but from my experience Oni is a little more manageable to deal with than other killers and I enjoy how intense a good Oni can make a match at any point in the game rather than knowing the game is sealed the moment the gens get pumped out fast.

I feel Oni is pretty balanced if not slightly more on the weak side. I'm the world champion at hitting window panes and not survivors with him while enraged. Either he can't "reach through" while enraged or I'm just bad with him (lol). But anyway, i feel like he's more like michael where he's not very good at the beginning but towards the endgame he's an absolute unit. I enjoy playing as him and against him

I love playing as and against Oni. You just need practice.

Oni is very well-balanced. Keep in mind he has nothing going for him until he (realistically) hits two different survivors. Yes, his power is strong but it should feel strong because he doesn't have it forever like Hillbilly does. Survivors just need to actually heal against him instead of rushing gens. And there's plenty of tiles he can still be looped on, even in Demon mode.

Personally as a survivor Oni does not bother me it is the new Doc that bothers me. Yes I know before all you killer mains say you can counter him to use Calm Spirit or get into lockers. Well just gonna say you never know the killer until you are in the match and it is pointless to take Calm Spirit every match. It is pure luck when I am using it and get the doctor.

I am not saying to nerf him because I have my good and bad games with him but just saying out of all the killers that bug me he is the one that seems to be super easy mode as a killer. You walk around and everyone screams are sees invisible friends that you can also locate and then slug everyone. I mean it is tough enough not to scream but then the doctor being able to track down the illusions. He is kind of tough to go against.
