Can we talk about the matchmaking/ruin clash?

Since the last couple of 2-3 months or so there's been more survivors than killers in the pool. I notice this on two accounts:

(a) The killer queues are instant, the survivors queues are not

(b) As a red-rank survivor I mostly play against green/yellow rank killers. As a green-rank killer, I mostly play against red-rank survivors.

Matchmaking has been busted (and a hot potato) for a long time. I have never NOT versed the entire spectrum of the rank-rainbow when playing killer/survivor. Some variety is expected. But then came the ruin rework. Issues that killers previously could mitigate by using ruin, was suddenly very exposed. And I guess even more people shifted towards the survivor pool.

Surrounding the days of the rework, I remember @Peanits saying that players who had their ranks "buffed" by ruin should start to drop to an appropriate level and that things would sort themselves out naturally. My rank sure dropped. But my opponents ranks did not.

Going against high level teams is part of the game. It's a challenge and I learn a lot. But it's also a very stressful situation. Since I rarely get games on my own level, I can only do two or three games before I need to switch back to the survivor role where I can be more laid back. Will this become any better? I want to believe in the upcoming matchmaking system..but I just don't.
