Opinions with Trapper have been very mixed, I would like to see the results in detail.

    He needs a rework

I think he should get a Doctor-like rework instead of just a straight up buff. Not sure what we could do to him though. I wouldn't mind a straight up buff though, I just really like what BHVR did with Doctor and I want to see that happen to more Killers.

    He needs an overhaul

Trapper really needs some changes he's archaic as hell. He takes too long to set up, for too little reward, too easy to negate his power, heavily luck based, a lot of his addons should be base kit, ect.

maybe they could make it so he starts with all his traps instead because walking to get traps across the map and then placing them takes alot of time and depending on the team gens can pop quick

If you know where to place your traps right, you can catch a lot of survivors off guard. I've placed traps in great locations that cut off loops, but they caught onto them. So... I started placing them in more "random" locations like around generators or common structures. You just have to know where to place his traps, and try to force survivors into your traps. Just being Trapper can make the survivors paranoid about using loops, and if you can predict where survivors will be and hide the traps, oooooh boy.

While I do agree he should be able to carry more traps without a bag, I believe he'll still be fun either way.

I think the Trapper, the Hillbilly, and the Wraith were the first killers in Dead By Daylight.

He's really strong in the right hands, IMO.

I just think he needs to start off with all his traps. Having a Killer that has to go around random places on the map acquiring his power is just stupid at this point in the game's life.

The only problem is 3 gen Trapper, but that's more of a problem with map design and generators in general IMO.

    He needs a rework

He is too much like the Hillbilly and the Cannibal.

Would like to see him changed physically to not resemble them so much and maybe change his melee weapon somehow.

Otz had some good recommendations for a buff. I think if his traps spawned with less RNG that would be enough. It doesn't make a lot of sense for him to collect traps in corner dead zones while 4 survivors are grinding away on gens.

All killers are M1 killers. "Changing his melee weapon" won't make him better, and I disagree with your point.

    • The Hillbilly is meant for fast travel.
    • The Cannibal is meant for quickly downing survivors.
    • The Trapper is meant for herding survivors into his territory.

Does Trapper relate to these killers at all? No. If he relates to anyone, it would be Hag with both of their play-styles being territorial.

Overhaul his power. It's outdated compared to today's games.

And yes, you're absolutely correct, but what does that have to do with opinions about the Trapper specifically?

    He needs a buff

He needs too spawn with all his traps, He's the only trap based killer who doesn't spawn with all his tools. I shouldn't have too go across the map too pick up my power. Could you imagine if Freddy had too run across the entire map too pick up blood pools just too drop them? Trapper is outdated and needs a massive buff too bring him back.

Just take Ruin! Then you'll have no problem!

What was that? Ruin got nerfed?

What in the absolute fuk? It wasn't even that good! Watch out guys, DeJa Vu might be next!

I also think all he needs is to start with all his traps, and can only pick up traos when he is below a certain limit.

Currently he cannot even play with all his traps because there are always some that spawn in deadzones or areas you will never travel for other reasons. And if you want to get them, you just waste time.

The basekit is fine. Kinda remote insta downs aren't too bad, I think it is fine that you can counter that and it isn't too easy when the killer places them well. I would also have no idea how to rework him without breaking it's base fluff and feeling and removing his iconic status

"Trapper should start with all his traps because setting a 3-gen minefield should be brainlessly easy"

    haha.

That's the whole point of this discussion, is Trapper good without add-ons or should he start with some as his base-kit? Is Trapper okay perkless, or does he heavily rely on perks? You can't bring an argument of "Just use Ruin" into this.

Just give him all his traps at the beginning and make the setting tools base-kit.

I used to main the Trapper, and I never really felt like he was super weak. I could get behind some QoL changes, but I don't think he needs a ton to be good.

imo right now it's difficult to unlock good add-ons for him compared to before when they where a lot more current so I would like his blood-web to be reworked and feature good add-ons again for the most part because every time I progress to the next blood web most of his add-ons feel useless

A rework is a lot of QoL changes and tweaks that drastically change how the character functions.

An overhaul remakes the killer from scratch.

    He needs a buff

I feel like Trapper is stuck in an old version of DbD. I voted buff, but maybe I should have gone for rework instead - he just doesn´t feel suited for what DbD currently is. He can still a powerful Killer with the right build and addons, but his base design and the way traps work is just outdated and so easily outplayed.

Well, with no more trap sabo, he got a little buff.

Rethought on my vote and have no idea how to change it.

He could use a tweak of letting him have more traps to start off with since he's the only killer whos power can be completely nullified with a toolbox. I would also say sabo but due to the ealry changes with hooks respawning is not used as often.
