FIXTHE FREAKING GEN RUSH

I came onto this site just to register my disgust at the state of the game

I've been playing since 2017, bought ALL of the DLC since then and I'm done


This game is now essentially unplayable as killer due to the ridiculous speed gens pop

    Survivors are likely better at skill checks and Ruin is no longer


    If anything, Ruin probably trained survivors to get better at skill checks

    You really think it wasn't a factor in helping survivors get better at skill checks since odds are they faced it in more matches than not?

    I mean, it totally did train them to be better at skill checks... buuuut killers have been complaining about it even when ruin negated the skil check bonus so what point are you trying to make?

    What in that passed 2 - 3 years has apparently made gens go faster? Nothing, the answer is nothing.

    Generator regression is more on the killer now as opposed to old Ruin's fire and forget.

    But as BigTimeGamer already mentioned, Ruin's removal has revealed that the larger maps are very survivor-sided, as very few killers can exert enough pressure over such a wide expanse of ground.

    You need to figure out what you're playing for, if it's just to have fun ignore this, if you want to do well...

    1) Use map offerings for killer sided maps.

    2) Use generator regression perks, Pop goes the weasel, thrilling tremors, overcharge. Generator regression is on the killer much more directly.

    Is it more of a pain in the ass now than it was before? Yes. Does this mean it's impossible? No, but don't expect to 4k every game either.

    What I have found is that there is a large number of people who are utterly dismissive of any and all killer sided issues. But you will get a ######### ton of insult and all manner of bs for your troubles as you try to explain why you are about to walk away from the killer side of dbd.

    Killers walk, wait time increases, reasonable killers leave increased ratio of the bad type of killer results (some one who is just looking to increase as much misery as possible eg Mori/tunnel and isn't so much interested in having a "game") insert surprised pikachu meme for survivors here.

    I have taken matters into my own hands and testing some strategies to make it worth playing killer for me, I had to cause I have one foot already out the door on the killer side.

    Time will tell if it keeps me playing killer (regardless i'm playing less killer anyway) and/or some changes for the better happen sometime soon (not really counting on that one)

    Funny how 2-3 gens can pop before you find, chase and hook one survivor

    Now 40-60% of the opposition's objective is completed before you take the first step in completing yours as a killer

    You'd think the devs would realize that having nothing left but toxic meme killers might crash and burn their game, but apparently not

    There does come a point where it could reach "crysis point".

    I suspect there metrics on what constitutes such a crysis isn't the same as the players, it will be based on sales/in game transactions ultimately.

    As long as money is still being made overall from their point of view things are all right. It just how the world works.

    All games should start with the killer spawning in the basement with survivors spawning at open exit gates teabagging to a double pip everytime

    If you're having 2-3 gens pop before you even find a survivor, that might be a personal issue. Anytime I play killer, I still average about 2.5 miles per match as I tend to get 2k and 3k games. 4k should NEVER be the norm, the devs have said balance is 2 escape and 2 are sacrificed.

    There are two things the ruin rework have shown about the game, the lack of ruin made survivors that should be low rank high ranks, there's no reason ranks 5-1 should miss skill checks, and two, big maps became even more survivor sided. Gen speeds haven't changed, period.

    If you have been playing since 2017 and you're now complaining about the game being "broken" or "unplayable", stop playing. All you've done is show everyone that you are one of the most toxic people in this player base as you won't actually pay attention to what anyone has said.

    Or you know, you could GIT GUD. If the ruin rework made killer unplayable, you weren't ever good at the game imo because you never needed it to do good.

    I thought ruin would have had a bigger impact on me but it surprisingly didn't. Still get a 4k 9/10 games. I don't play spirit, freddy, nurse or Billy everygame btw. I like to play a different killer everygame and at red ranks you can still win quite easily.

    Sometimes you just have to accept that against a top 1% team you will struggle to get kills.

    I won't lie I joined in on the TAIL end of ruin and had about a month to learn how to deal with it. From that month alone I managed to learn to time skill checks to get greats (try to hit is right as it's about to pass into the good area) rather than gen tapping to death so I can only imagine what people who have been playing this game for years can do.

    I once had a game where the killer ran distressing presence on a doctor with counter clockwise skill checks and the hit boxes for both great/good were the same lenght. That doctor actually ended up get rushing himself because we kept hitting greats and they kept popping up so we just chugged through 3 gens solo like nothing (he had a 3 gen set up) and he disconnected. Keep in mind only one of us had a toolbox and they were the one getting chased.

    Stop complaining.

    Even I agree that it's not fun if matches end in 2-4 minutes, but if people are so good in the purple-red ranks then what can you really do about it?
