Why banning people for using specific addons instead of disabling these addons till fixed?
So I won't go into detail, but there is currently a bug with a specific addon like we had back then with Legion. I wont tell the killer or addon.
But bhvr decided again to ban people who use this addon instead of disabling it. Like, have they ever thought about that some people just simply won't visit the forums and just play the game? And therefore don't even know about that bug and use that addon? How stupid is it to get banned for using an addon? I'm kinda suprised that the media isn't ripping off bhvr for that, this is one of the most stupidest reasons to get banned in a game.

I think it was regarded as an exploit some mod ( dont remember the name mentioned it). Kinda funny that they ban people for that and hook tech is fine while they look for a fix for it. 🤷

There may be something we're missing, but from what I can see I have to agree with you here. We know that they can enable and disable offerings easily enough, so I don't see why add-ons should be any different. It just seems like the cleanest solution, not only to stop people using the exploit altogether but to prevent a whole lot of unnecessary banning of players who simply didn't know any better.

The fact that people use exploits with purpose at all, no matter if they publicly known or not, should always be a permanban imo. Had a killer recently who pretended and seriously said he "only tested" an exploit to show how stupid the devs are. The real reason was to force survivors to DC because that's exactly what happended. Just SMH.

There isn't an official announcement. Not everyone has eyes on the forums. If 10,000 people play daily, about 100 are on the forums.

Not sure about DH, but there was a time where you could use regular sprint while crouching, without triggering SB. So you could run as much as you want, AND still have SB waiting for you to stop and activate run normally. As long as you hadn't triggered exhaustion.

I did hon. You compared banning for one exploit to "hook tech" not being stopped or banned.
To which I laughed because, while "hook tech" may be an "exploit" technically, it keeps two people at one hook.

I just dislike treating people diffrently due to whatever reason.
I don't care about "hook tech" cause I can hit people who do it but I do not like the diffrent handling of exploiting, giving no value to which is worse. I've seen a nurse do it, i do not report that as it was hilarious.

You don't even know if they're banning them or not, and about SB and DH, you also don't know if they got banned, so you can't just comment this.

I know for sure, that DH and SB exploiters got no bans. The devs announced it at that time and just said: "Please don't exploit guys.". Yeah very helpful.
Additionally somebody stated here, that you shouldn't use a specific addon of a specific killer, if you don't wanna get banned. So i guess someone received bans here.
My post just said it would be really biased to ban killers for using exploits and leaving survivors alone, IF this is true.

If I hear about devs banning people for doing something in the game, then Im going to use it, even if Im going to get banned.
Threatening people with bans in such situation is epitome of laziness, if they actually ban someone then I would be convinced that they dont deserve any money.

That is entirely untrue. i had it happen to me in 3 games as nurse and didn't know ######### was going on. Then i went online and found out how it was done. It is very easy to accidentally happen.

100% agree with op. If it's that easy to stumble into they better not be banning people for it they should just disable the addon temporarily. Unless someone has just been doing it like 10+ games in a row and you realize they are intentionally abusing it, you better not be banning people BHVR shame on you if you have.
(I doubt they have though, I mean back when we had the basement bug they said they would ban but I never saw anyone get banned for it that had it happen a couple games, even with all basement builds.... we had the basement challenge around then and it was triggered by basement hooking, yet they said they would ban people if they abused it....and it's like.....the fak? Lol )

If they haven't said anything then they probably aren't banning for it yet. I was running around with Sloppy Butcher on Wraith during the bleeding bug until someone told me about it and I didn't get banned for it

I was wondering why I have faced so many nurses all the sudden who are surprisingly "good" lol... I thought she had an insta-down add on or something? Didn't realize it was reportable because they are essentially cheating. One game the nurse downed and killed everyone in a couple minutes which is unheard of.

DH isn't infinite. That's absurd. Sure you can use it more than once, but It has a cool down. I don't use SB, but there's nothing wrong with it. I personally wish unbreakable could be used more than once.

Referring to the bug that would allow you to get the speed Boost of Sprint burst infinitely meaning the killer would literally never be able to catch up to you unless the were nurse or Billy

So what about players new to Nurse/the game and don't know this isn't normal? I run into so many questionable bugs I can't tell if it's a bug or not. I know when I play spirit I run into collision when people are inside lockers and I just ignore them out of fear or being banned for exploiting.
It took me the longest to ask someone can I run into survivors while phasing because I just assumed it was random collision/a bug.

It's a bug with the nurse's spasmodic add-on that makes it so it infinitely stacks and you can reach speeds upward of 900+%, it's funny to watch trust me

There was a exploit with sb where if you would crouch then press the run key then stand up you would run without triggering sb so then you could stop for half a second the press it again which let you run in a Chase and only use it when needed and it was much easier and safer to do than 99ing it. For the dead hard I think he's talking about the ptb if the killer misses a ranged attack (only affects 2 killers) bc you used dead hard then you can use it again like you didn't just use it.

Dh is a bug with ranged killers if you make them miss then you can keep using it. With Sprint burst you could crouch, hold the run key, then stand up and you can then run without using sb which means you can be chased and then us sb when needed which is safer than 99ing where you have to stop for 1-2 sec where with this you quickly let go then press your run key and sb away

Because they're survivor biased that's why. They don't care a ######### about killer community. I'm a surv main but killers have to take too much bullshit from BVHR and they don't fix anything.

I don't know if they're banning, but man. . . if they were, it would set a clear double standard. We had to deal with the sprint burst exploit for, what, two months? They didn't do anything about that. If I remember correctly, it was asked multiple times why they can't just fix it, and their response was 'we create new builds for each chapter, and fixing something mid chapter would require us to rebuild the entire chapter,' or something along that effect. But then, this is a killer issue, so if they do ban for it, I wouldn't be surprised. Didn't they ban for the old Legion bug?

HA didnt even know about that, guess am banned, but not for fishy stuff that i did pre legacy. Pretty funny to be honest banning player for unknown time just because they used specific item / addon etc / being in a unreachable place (asylum) instead of disabling it for "unknown time"

The thing that doesn't work about this comparison is that there's actually a way to tell whether or not someone is using killer exploits (at least when the devs actually notify the community). What about the survivor exploits? What way is there to tell that a player was exploiting the sprint burst bug? Should they have just banned every single player who ran sprint burst even if they didn't use the exploit? Also infinite dead hard wasn't / isn't an exploit. There's no way to purposefully make it happen, it's just a random occurrence and yet again, what way is there to monitor it? Should they just ban all players that run one of the most popular perks in the game?

The DH comparison was wrong, i apologise. But the SB exploit needed specific followup actions. That's monitorable.
