Why am i getting paired only with rank 10+ killers as a rank 4 survivor?

Because there's hardly anyone playing killer right now. The MM tries to find people your rank and when it can't it expands the search. Wait long enough and it will throw the first available killer your way.

Too many survivors and most killers don't even want to bother with this ######### mess of a game.
So you get paired with those that don't know any better.

there is also the fact that ranks are skewed atm anyway. You being a Rank 4 survivor may be due to you facing rank 10+ killers over and over and easily double pipping. So a lot of killers are de-ranking due to facing higher skilled survivors and survivors are being boosted due to getting low skilled killers over and over. So I would say as this has been going on for a while Ranks don't really represent anything in terms of skill as a you might be getting rank 2 survivors facing a rank 13 killer(which seems bad) but in reality and in skill level it would be a rank 7 survivor vs a rank 9 killer which is pretty fair matchmaking

Its crazy how the devs can nerf ruin cause of new players but not fix matchmaking or even remove ranks

As a solo queue Survivor, one common truth I have found is that Red Rank teammates are always worse than purple or green rank teammates.
I don't know why but after hundreds of hours, that's been my experience. I don't know if they're just trying to meme or what but inevitably they do everything in their power to not ever work or gens or try to escape.
Or maybe, if they're anything like me, once they hit red ranks, they purposely try to de-pip because Red Ranks are less fun.
The entire matchmaking & ranking system as a whole is awful.

Killer cluster at mid-ranks, survivors cluster at hig ranks. Conclude for yourself.

I agree. I have most fun in purple and green. Not even worth keeping my red rank anymore.

Well imagine being a green killer going against reds. Hell I was getting rank 1s at rank 16. It's not exactly fun either. People have already explained I guess. Hopefully something changes soon.

De-ranking as killer doesn't do anything at this point. There's plenty of posts everyday about low rank killers getting high rank survivors. It just needs some sort of fix.

this game is actually the most unbalanced game i’ve EVER played and they’ve had YEARS to fix it but just don’t want to or know how (let’s hope that’s not why because.. again YEARS LMAO)

not enough killers for the amount of survivors. Just what i think, with survivor ques being long and killer ques being short. I get a lot of red and purple rank survivors in green ranks and still got then when i was in yellow ranks.

Matchmaking is trash atm, because less Killers are invested in the game. Not me tho, Im gonna stick it out until the servers shut down.
Also, pipping as killer is ridiculously hard. If I kill 3 people before the last gen, and the last guy gets the hatch, how the heck do I only get Brutal Killer? Not to mention, I got like 80,000 bp after BBq and a surv pudding
