A tip to not getting with toxic red ranks? Or atleast not with ranks that surpases me by 10 or more?

Today i felt like using the huntress. Until today i never used so i wasted a few bloodpoints and started a game. First match was quite normal, i played versus purple ranks but this matchmaking sucks so i can't complain. But what happens when matchmaking goes very good?

Replying the famous question:

  • This is my best killer rank so far (so i didn't get better and worse at the same time). I never got a better killer rank.
  • The "practising with high ranks will make you better" is not a valid argument. You should be playing with your equal ranks, not with higher or lower ones.

So i throw up the towel. I feel like in survivor ranks there are only genrushers and in killer only campers. In more than 300 hours i can count up with my hands the killers i liked to play (even dying) and survivors i enjoyed with one hand.

Im main survivor, is frustrating in both ways.

Playing against skilled players will make you better, but I've never heard anyone use that to argue that matchmaking shouldn't be fixed - It's more of a silver lining for those with the right attitude.

Unfortunately, matchmaking as it currently stands isn't something you can do anything to influence. The only advice I can give you is to wait a bit longer until the new matchmaking system is implemented, which will hopefully fix most if not all of the problems present in the current one.

I was reading a lot of posts before writing this one. Making impossible to see each other ranks won't solve the issue. Survive With Friends is the main issue and, if Matchmaking helps, will make a mess of this (and no, you cannot say its not SWF and MM fault. We both know those 2 issues are the main problem creating this crazy searchs).

Im totally sure the killer/survivor ratio is pretty ######### up and MM is searching to whatever is playing on.

Don't know how it works, but as im a programmer (my job) im sure there's a few internal points that uses to make the search. If there is no search available to your internal points (aka. rank), it just expands to both ways (higher and lower).

I also readed what they'll do and a big nope, won't solve a lot. Making each survivor/killer their own internal points to search (call it rank variable if you want) will just lead to this same issue time on.

So while they add this change into the matchmaking i still need to suffer the "you need to improve with people with +950 hours more than you" to play a peaceful game? (Yes, the Rank 1 got almost 1.3k hours).

It's okay, I understand it's not personal. Do bear in mind, though, that part of the current issue with matchmaking is that there are several severe bugs in play. The matchmaking in the screenshot you shared, for example, is not intended and should not be possible. So when I say that the new system will hopefully fix the issues, I'm also talking about bugs like that.

As for whether or not it will work overall, I don't personally think we have enough information about it to make that call. In theory, once we get the chance to test it out, we'll know it's working if everyone's win/loss ratio is roughly 50/50.

As said above, the matchmaking has several issues and bugs at the moment, that's why it's being overhauled with the ranking system to reflect a more healthy and stable matchmaking for the future of Dead By Daylight.

For right now though, the matchmaking is unfortunately still like this, which is where a lot of newer or decently established players come in, facing Red Ranks that're far above their skill-cap is not an enjoyable situation and I can understand why you're not happy with where it currently stands as a whole.

I can guarantee that we're seeing a fix to this, but when is currently unknown. I'll also be linking below the most recent matchmaking changes for Dead By Daylight. Keep in mind that these changes are not going to come in one whole patch and that they're coming gradually as the game progresses, that too will be in a quote below the link itself.

here's the most recent update on the matchmaking changes

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/124795/status-update-matchmaking-changes#latest

"The release of these changes will be gradual. With the release of the mid-chapter update, we are able to start tracking skill levels. For the time being, this is only a test and is not being used for matchmaking purposes. Once we are confident that the skill rating is working as intended, we will be running tests on live servers."
