Deathslinger chain struggle

Hi

Is there a way to "unhook" yourself from the deathslinger? I see the bar but no option on how to progress it... do you just wiggle side to side or try to move backwards? how does that work? I find myself reeled towards him almost instantly if there's no wall or objects between us

As he pulls you in, the bar progresses. If you move to the side and it puts something in the way like a box, or even another survivor, it will progress much more quickly.

It's really unclear what you are supposed to do to struggle. I've tried moving to the side and pulling back on one stick, on both sticks (I play on PS4) Nothing seems to really work consistently. I notice the chain glows when I go behind objects & it just goes through them but that doesnt break the chain either.

Thanks guys, I've noticed that, doesn't matter how I move, the bar barely moves and with my luck I'm always getting stuck in the open so no objects to put between us :(

If you move side to side it actually increases the bar, you can also pull back to make the bar increase slightly faster than usual.

But that's about it, if you were expecting a way to break the chain with your bare hands than unfortunately you can't, you either have to hope he doesn't have enough distance to reel you in, or break it with objects/players that get in-front of the chain/
