Devs, I know you're going to nerf him.... -_-
After purchasing Deathslinger and winning big time in my first two matches, I can say this, he's right about where he needs to be. I don't feel he needs ANY nerfs and if he needs any buffs, it'd be a simple, movement speed increase, maybe to 112% or faster vaulting. HOWEVER, I know the Devs will nerf him, like they do with all Killers they release. SO..Let me suggest the only reasonable nerf that WON'T necessary wreck him.
Let's focus on his gun, more specifically, the charge he loads into the rifle. It's weird that he has unlimited rounds, so this is what I propose. Since he's similar to the Huntress (Range Killer), and she has to go to the closet to acquire new hatches, do the same for Deathslinger. After say, maybe six shots (Cowboys love their six shooters), he has to go to a closet to acquire new ammo to reload. IF you go this route though, you MUST decrease the time it takes for him to reload. In my opinion, this would be the only sensible and reasonable nerf I can think of.. Otherwise, PLEASE don't nerf him.

Nerf Idea: Everytime he aims down sights, hes locked into the ADS and the death slinger says "ITS HIIIIIIGHHHHHHH NOOOOON". Death slinger is able to un-scope once the quote is finished.

Only nerf I think he needs is some kind of audio warning when he's aiming. It's so much faster than a hatchet windup that it shouldn't hurt too much, but actually give a chance at counterplay in so many sections of the map.

Auron471 basically suggested that. It's both entertaining and a significant warning to the survivor. I believe he'd be able to fire AFTER he finishes the phrase?

I think that would be too much of a nerf. His aim actually doesn't take that long, but once he's in aim mode, he can't move his aim very quickly so it would be too brutal if the phrase was that long. We just need something so that it's not utterly impossible to simultaneously look where you're going and actually be able to have any counterplay to his speargun.

I'd suggest that survivor's shouldn't get hit even if he lose rolling the survivior,thats a nonsense,No matter if you roll the survivor to you or not,its still a hit,also,lot's of deathslingers are avoiding the stun,if they know that they're gonna lose the rolling they just swing which for me is just avoiding the stun,you'd say that is just a tactic play but no,devs can just delete the stun then. That's my opinion about his nerf

The audio cue wouldn't do anything, since the Deathslinger players that are any good are just going for pop-shots. Unless you added a delay to when he can shoot the audio cue wouldn't do anything because the shot is instant and there's no way a human being could possibly react to it.

I'll be honest, he mostly is gtg, but once you really get the hang of him, he is hard to escape from. I learned to make sure the first hit is a normal M1 because his recovery is short and few survivors can get far enough away. Within seconds of recovery you have them in range of your shot and can down them faster than I've done with any other non-instadown killer. Granted, this is harder on Lerys and Hawkins.
In short, his ability to down survivors he engages is really fast. There is little a survivor can do. I've only had a couple give me fits, but nowhere near as long as a normal M1 killer.
If anything is changed with the attack speed interval though, they need to compensate with a speed boost. It would be too hard of a hit if they slowed his attack speed without increasing his movement speed.

Since for the last few patches they completely ignored the feedback from the community, i would expect them to not implement the good ideas, so better to give worse designs in the hopes they come with a good change. But that's just wishful thinking.😁

I think they need to fix his terror radius. When I play survivor he can be right behind me and I don’t hear it
