Struggle turn into automatic, something that the majority of the community wants
Well, I support this idea, and here's why. I got injured on my wrist and I couldn't move the majority of that part over a week. I managed to play dbd, mostly killer, but when I started playing survivor I realised my mistake. Since my left hand couldn't reach the shift button without hurting, I decided to replace the sprint button with m5. Not a huge deal, I could play. But when I got into struggle it was difficult. My wrist couldn't keep up and I forgot to change struggle to m1 so I died. And since both of my hands have some kind of weakness, smashing m1 on the hook was a difficult task. If I miss a click for a quarter of a second I die. So, with a few words, for people with wrist/hand injuries or problems it's hard to keep up.
So, in conclusion, please either make struggle automatic or make it toggle. It would be great for me and a lot of fans of this game.

I think they should, because apparently struggling has a max speed, right? Then there are some perks that speed up that struggling, but most lower it.

And what if I want to die right away?

Instead of mashing a button to stay alive, you just push the button to die. Not that I would support that, but that is an easy solution.

I feel like this mechanic is still in the game for literally no other reason then to hurt people hands, it's even worse for people with things like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Colorblind filters have also been asked for a long time, but for some reason the devs have decided not to do anything about it.

They could even make it a mash "x" (ps4) like struggling on hook. Joysticks are fragile every controller that has ever had issues is always with the stick.

Also when there's a lag spike and it recognises that as you've stopped struggling it instantly kills you...but yeah I 100% agree with this being a feature, I don't so much want to who game to be a simulator or at least make it easier to struggle because imma end up with arthritus at the age of 30 through this game, Holding the same button down on a gen even starting to hurt my hands after a while now

They could also make this at easy as "hold down spacebar to struggle". Same with wiggling. Just hold down both A and D.

It doesn't bother me too much. I play a religious amount of Devil May Cry and rhythm games so in used to mashing a key repeatedly. But even so, it's just annoying. I set up a macro for it instead lmao.
Still, add this to the very extensive list of wanted features that would take one person on the team literally less than 60 seconds to implement...

I agree it needs to be changed, I now own 3 Xbox controllers with damaged left thumbsticks and 'A' buttons from this game alone lol

It would be great (and easy) for them to change it. If I recall, long long ago, their reasoning for having button mashing in the game is they wanted it to be "scary and tense" or something like that, and didn't want people just sitting there doing nothing while being carried or hooked. I think that reasoning is kind of silly because it's not tense or scary, just annoying and can cause people to damage controllers/keyboards. Plus this game isn't scary anymore anyways, anyone who's played it for a little while is never going to get scared (besides maybe jumpscare Myers or something but that has nothing to do with this), and there are probably plenty of noobs who don't even get scared either. Also people are basically doing nothing anyways besides mashing a button for no reason other than they get punished if they don't.
They should either make auto struggle a toggle or make it automatic all the time and give you a button to let yourself die on hook if people really want that (I guess people don't always want to sit there for an extra minute if they just want to die and leave) I guess they could also make it a button hold so you are at least still doing something

This game is not designed for fun. Suffer.

I agree with this post. Firstly it would quell the rage quits on hook and second, if you have played on Nintendo Switch you may have experienced this as I have many times, a lag spike can get you killed making it look like you gave up when in fact the struggle button was being mashed.

Unfortunately that would be positive QoL change and devs don't like these. I hope I'll be proven wrong.

Devs: "we don't want you to have a cup of coffee while you're in struggling phase because you're struggling" (Real quote)
They honestly just want to break your keyboard at the very least lol (a joke)
IT NEEDS TO GO

Agreed. Wish we could just hold down the button.

Two PS4 controllers have already gone to the grave due to the left thumb stick. If nothing else, give us a way to use mechanics that do not cost your players money in the long run. I know controllers wear out eventually, but brand new ones never run out at the rate mine have been due the wiggle mechanic. I'm all for suspense, but at the same time, the controller thing isn't an isolated case. A lot of people are having this problem.

I drink a cup of tea while struggling while my other hand is in pain -_-

Would you get a banned to use a macro that rotates through pressing spacebar - spacebar every 25ms?

BHVR reads this thread - Makes running you have to quickly tap SHIFT instead of holding it.

Oh yee of grand faith... changing it to automatic would probably cause at least 4 other perks to bug out and 1-2 survivors and/or killers to become silent

why are survivors arguing for less game to play this isn't a walking simulator but somehow people are complaining about skill checks and now even struggling
0 -
It's not that we're 'arguing for less game to play', just tired of wearing out my $60 controller because I'm dealing with a Killer that likes to tunnel. 'Walking simulator'??? Get outta here, seriously what is the logic in your argument?

Mashing a button just for the sake of doing something isn't gameplay. It's nothing skillfull, no big game choices involved, you are just forced to do it for not good reason.
2 -
What gameplay or skill is this exactly? It’s pressing a button somewhat quickly, that’s all. Most of us have had at least one occurrence of lag making us “give up,” which stinks for us and the team.
To the people arguing against this I say what is the value of keeping it? So you can quit when he game starts poorly for you

so that if a survivor isn't paying attention a killer can actually hook the person where they want
0 -
by that logic outside of looping the killer is the only part of the game that is actual gameplay
0 -
You have much more choices, when not in a chase. Several Generators you can repair, survivors to heal, safe, totems chest. You aren't immobile and have true choices. That's not comparable.

You're talking about wiggling on the shoulder... we're talking about struggling during second hook stage those are two different things.

Well fun I’ve been arguing apples and bananas then

Roll your thumbstick around. It helps.

I had a bigger problem with the button mashing mostly because it's loud af but since you can change it to MW DN (mouse down) struggling is basically scrolling with the mouse wheel. Very quiet and 99.9% less annoying than repeatedly pressing a button.

Or how else can I give my team mate the hatch quickly before the killer finds and kills him and frankly I don't care if I ever "screw" over a killer...that is pretty much my objective as I see it beyond all else.

I have gone through a few controllers myself.
