Get rid of SWF

You either play as survivor against a group of people that can talk to each other which gives them such an advantage over the killer. Or you play as a Survivor solo with a bunch of potatoes and can't get out of the game.

It's ridiculous..

I agree DBD can be highly frustrating.

But I must say it's been much more fun since the update.

Whilst some were cheesed off, I think the toolbox changes were great. And I am playing survivor more as the queue times have gone down.

You explained why people by swf by accident. Random red ranks can be as bad as green ranks so I'd rather play with a reliable swf team.

However if you are certain you are deleting the game I'd say don't play any other multiplayer game. Nearly every other game has comms like overwatch and fortnite. I'd recommend Alien Isolation, it's a really good game.

I don't think getting rid of SWF will do this game any good. What they should do (and promised to do, but later on went quiet about it) is to bring solo as far as possible to the SWF level. Kindred should be built-in. We are also almost 4 years into the game, and they have yet to introduce a simple totem counter for solos. SWF should also get some reduction speed wise (for example, slower repair speed). Once they bump solo to the SWF information destribution then they can buff the killers with it. If both solo and SWF have the same capabilities they can finally solve the balance issues. Nobody will complain about strong killers if they feel that the game is fair for them regardless if they are playing solo or SWF.

I care. Even if someone's idea of the structure of the game isn't as completely formed as a long time player with thousands of hours, games shouldn't make people want to quit forever because they don't feel like something that they paid money for-- possibly earned with time and toil they don't get back-- doesn't respect them.

Anyway, SWF is going nowhere, unfortunately. It's bhvr's cash cow. Survivor A tells friend B to get DBD so they can swf. Survivor B repeats the process, getting friend C into the game, and maybe buys some DLC too. Killers, because they play solo, are less likely to invite other people to play or promote sales of the game.

Do you not know what it's like to play against swfs?

killing killers will kill this game

I am a killer main 70% killer 30% Survivor, which about 29.9% of that is SWF. Why am I pointing this out, I would basically stop playing the game if they removed SWF. I enjoy playing SWF because I want to play the game with my friends.

I enjoy going against SWF more often than a group of Solo's. Its more fun because to some extent they stand a chance of getting 2-4 man escape. Right now one average, against solo survivors I probably 3-4k most games. More often than not before all of the generators are done. Alot of those 3k games are because of hatch as I don't slug for a 4k. However against a SWF team, it feels like I have to earn my 2k and it's not just handed to me.

I have confidence this will be addressed at some point. I think a bonus BP multiplier for each SWF, would be good compensation.

I play both at reds, yet I’m not complaining

why punish people for wanting to play a game with their friends? removing SWF is a horrible idea from a practical and a business POV, not to mention this game would die very fast if they REMOVED THE ABILITY TO PLAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS IN A TEAM GAME

seriously, go play this game solo survivor and then play with friends and tell me which is more fun

If you're good at DbD then you will win... I got many rank 1 or rank 2 survivors and I killed them all... Some n00bs was better than them at this game... You cant always win, and you cant always lose, remember that.

No they shouldn't get rid of swf, and here's why." I'm one of the rare occasion of people who don't use comms when I swf. Who are you to steal the ability to play with my buds, even tho I don't do anything against the rules?"

That's what people will use as an argument

So no, it's not possible sry

I don't want to see SWF gone because it defeats the purpose of an online game....playing with friends. Before anyone says to play KYF, don't overlook there is zero progression there. It's pointless.

On the other hand, I've never seen a game with a wider disparity between a solo experience and SWF. As a killer it is almost embarrassing how bad you squash a solo team. I find myself feeling almost guilty of being a bully due to the destruction. Then you face an SWF and get obliterated to the point that you feel like the victim trying to survive the match instead of the apex predator.

As survivor it is insanely frustrating to play solo as you get face stomped due to dumb teammates, but you can at least marvel at Claudette's mastery of hiding in a bush while watching you die on hook. Or, you play SWF and feel bad for making the killer feel like he's the survivor.

Not sure how to fix it all.

Well, as others suggested, they should make a solo que and SWF que and increase bp earned in the SWF que. Most likely killers would Play 1-2 solo games to warm up and then play SWF. An those that play SWF but struggle and feel like it might be a “bad killer” day could go back to Solo.

Doesnt seem difficult and I doubt all killers would shy away from the challenge, they just don’t want to go in try hard every game thinking they might be facing a SWF gen rushing team.

The playerbase can't support 2 queues.

What's to stop killers from avoid SWFiends queue?

I literally put in my prospective on what ‘I believe’ would happen if we had two ques. Also I don’t know how big the community is but maybe they will make some adjustments if they make DbD2,when new consoles hit, or maybe cross play will be implemented. Neither one of us had exact statistics so I don’t see why your so convinced we can’t handle two ques.

SWF will be here to stay. I think a more viable option would be having an opt out setting for killers. On the down side of this it would increase match making times, but since that is totally broken (match making) the whole comms arguement would come to disappear.

if swf is removed the game will die, why is that such a hard concept to grasp

also, why do people always blame coms as to why swf is extremely good? imo its more that the survivors that swf can be extremely good individually, coms doesnt make novice players in swf busted

Υou can't stop friends from playing together. If they remove swf, the game will die the next day. If you're so frustated and not having fun, stop playing this game.

The best solution is to somehow buff solo players so they can compete with swf, then buff killers.

I understand that playing against some SWF groups is frustrating, but playing with friends is something important to a lot of people. If they remove it, a lot of players would just leave and find some other game to play with their friends. which would hurt DBD and make the waiting times even bigger.

Buff solo survivors, buff killers, then it might start to balance out. Have to do both though. If you buff killers and not solo survivor then you make the already unbearable solo play impossible. If you buff solo but not killer then you basically neuter the killer.

I have long defended SWF and advocate for balance on both sides. This game is moving towards a huge imbalanced tipping point though.

It used to be that 4 man SWF was rare, but I have seen a huge spike in those groups to where 40% or more matches I have are vs sweaty SWF groups. I'm pretty laid back, so I don't tunnel or camp and those turn into pretty not so fun matches. This is in large part due to the frustration of solo players. It's to the point where you band together or get camped and tunneled out of every match.

We are nearing a breaking point in the game and something has to be done. Might as well try buffing both killers and solo.

SWF shouldn't be removed, but it really needs to be looked at. It's nowhere near balanced for anyone. Killers get abused by the fact they each know where you are and are going, then there is the SWF groups that are toxic toward killers. People say removing SWF will kill the game, but think about it. Whenever a toxic group abuses a killer, that kiler then leaves the game. Who's going to give you your matches at this point? Survivor times are already through the roof, and as more killers leave, it's only going to get worse. People can only take so much before they say they're done.

They should really just either give survivors voice coms (let them disable it if they want) for randos, then balance the gamer around it. Or start giving survivors perks like kindred for free as base kit.
