Discussion about Hex builds.
With the inclusion of a Hex Retribution, I cannot get the thoughts of a Hex build out of my mind. Specifically with my slow Deathslinger, I’m thinking of this build for a few days but couldn’t implement it because I’m lacking perks.
•Hex: Retribution
•Hex: Devour Hope
•Hex: Haunted Ground/Hex: Ruin
•Hex: Thrill of the Hunt
I mean, with Thrill giving information and a slow down, Haunted Ground giving a surprise momentum advantage/or Ruin harassing gen speed, Devour being the real underlying threat that keeps a survivor worried about Hex Builds, and Retribution which will give you accurate information anywhere between 10 to 40 seconds which will keep your momentum or capitalize in a chase your in.
I feel that increasing my power through hex will force survivors to take the secondary objective of cleansing totems more seriously and slow down the game. I could only think that ignoring all Hex totems will counter this build but that’s assuming I’m not skilled or fast enough to take advantage of Devour Hope and the survivors can ignore the allure of shiny points, both of which I think will not be done.
So I wanted the community to remind me why Hex builds are scoffed at and why I am better off using Ect. Ect. Ect. I just can not currently go experiment with Hex builds on my Deathslinger right now, so I can’t jump in and remind myself on why I don’t use full hex builds anymore.
(I’m trying to be a Deathslinger main and I already P3 him and just trying to collect perks now. I’m just messing around in mid rank, sometimes facing 1’s and sometimes 14. I’m rank 9)

Hex builds right now are good on the new map because totem spawns are not well known yet and are hidden pretty good. But if you see a survivor come in with a map you probably want to scratch it and go with a non-hex build.
