Perspective
I think the reason why the community is so toxic to one another is because one side doesn't take into count for the other and vice versa. Not here to start anything but this could be a possibility.
We're all gamers here and we all go though the same loading screens.

I'm pretty sure it's because every single person that comments in these forums is perfect. At least that would seem to be what a great deal of them think based on the comments.

It would be, but reading through these forums I genuinely believe lots of people do not think there is ever a possibility they could be wrong.

It is because if you truly main just one side you don't see the other's perspective as well.
For each time a survivor gets hit when they believe they shouldn't, there is a killer that doesn't get a grab or hit that they should have. Survivors say don't tunnel, yet they don't see how not tunneling in that moment may actually cost the killer any chance to swing momentum and win. Killers don't see how unfun it is to be straight tunneled out of the game. Especially when you do it to the weakest link and not the guy who is good enough not to get caught and keeps clicking his flashlight at you.
The win conditions of each side are so opposed to the other side it is hard to find common ground.
The best way to lessen the toxicity is to play both sides. And I mean competitively, not doing dailies or memeing around, but truly trying to maintain a red/purple rank. This way we can see each others point of view better and maybe be a bit more understanding of why a person might have used that tactic at that time.

Unfortunately I do not. To unite or have a truce would require enough humility for people to at least consider they might be wrong. I don't think you are ever going to see that happen on these forums.
