Kobe off hook on 2nd attempt when survivor about to unhook them

This week I've noticed 3 people attempt to unhook themselves as I am nearby and about to unhook them which I can only find as selfishness.

The latest one who cobed on their second attempt decided to selfcare despite two of us having run to them and were waiting to heal them... they DC'd during a mori (*sigh!*)

On a happier note I was delayed by spine chill on the way to one of them so they found themselves on their 2nd hook as I couldn't grab them shortly after their 2nd kobe attempt (*again sigh!*)

Yeh, just let your team do it! I hate when people kobe but I'm running We'll make it!

Next time I'll just run by if I see they are trying it. It is punishment to the team but you were a man down before the game started with them.

    • There's a kobe acheivement. It's normal to try to kobe if you know you're getting saved before hitting second stage
    • If you kobe you get 1.5k bloodpoints in the survival category, which is the most difficult to max out, as the maximum you can get is 5k, unless you wiggle, DS or kobe
    • Aside from very specific situations (and if you're playing to win) don't heal someone with self-care. Even if they don't have a med kit, or botany it's still more efficient to get the killer's attention or just do a gen

Based on what you've said above your behaviour isn't any less selfish than those people's

    1. Self, I run a map to rescue and penalised if they unhook.

    2. See 1.

    3. Don't heal team members and get the killers attention or so a gen??

My comment would discourage selfish behaviour. How many times have I healed someone only for them to get up and immediately grab the survivor I was going to unhook next to me but didn't straight away as they were nearer. How many times do I watch someone run around looking for the hatch and not doing gens because they found a key.

The sad fact of it is, this isn't a 4v1 if you run solo. It's a 1v1v1v1v1. Other survivors mostly care about themselves first. Their bloodpoints, their escape, their saves, and with the Tome challenges, "Sorry, had to complete this challenge" is the most common comment I get for when I get sandbagged.

Are there exceptions? Of course! Is it a majority? Maybe. I only have my own experiences to draw from, so YMMV.

The first bit of your comment doesn't make sense - I didn't even understand what you meant.

If they got to the hook first, then it was more efficient for them to go for the unhook, you should have done something else instead of chasing after them.

Ever thought that the person looking for hatch might come grab you once they find it?

Yep, its selfish to Kobe when you know that someone is going to safe you. I dont heal a person who got off the Hook in my face.

I am even thinking about not unhooking them if they try to Kobe, but I am too nice for that (and in the end, it will also hurt my Escape).
