Thoughts on Visible Ranks again?
We all know ranks and matchmaking are a complete joke and a hidden MMR system is probably going to be even worse given the track record
Sooo I've been thinking, why not re-add visible ranks in lobby? As Killer its obviously whatever and more or less fine as is (MM is still garbage), but as survivor I am still getting matched with people who are green/brown rank.
The question is this: why is a terrible match experience preferable than allowing players to dodge and find a better game? Because it may hurt someone's feelings? Are one's feelings more important than others who don't feel like dealing with a lost cause of a game?
I play games to have fun, having to carry 3 other players because I'm given No agency in my team is not enjoyable at all.
edit; SWF is obviously the way around this but its not always possible getting 3 others to want to play DBD, its a broken mess of a game currently lmao

Whether you can or cannot see the ranks, you seem more annoyed about the match making system, which in fairness isn't doing justice to either side right now. But with the extremely long queue times for survivors, I wouldn't want a way to dodge games and make that even longer.

If you play the game for fun, just play the game. Ranks shouldnt matter to you

Devs have said they won’t add them again.. to avoid lobby dodging.
But in my opinion, if they actually fixed match matchmaking to pair you with survivors close to your own rank, we wouldn’t have a reason to lobby dodge when we see the ranks.
Tl;dr - please fix matchmaking!

Also, to anyone who says “rank shouldn’t matter” - unfortunately, it does matter. Yes, I want to play for fun. But no, it’s not fun to carry baby survivors when you’re high rank.

Ranks matter in the sense that I get matched with people who have played for 10 minutes
Im sorry, but being stuck in a game where I have to do everything while my team crouches around is not fun

And yet if you're matched with bad teammates, you won't have fun. Funny how that works.

If your idea of fun in this game is to win all the time and/or have 3 teammates who can pull their own weight, just find a team and sweat it out with them. It's not too difficult. My advice to you is to find exactly what you enjoy in playing survivor and figure out how to achieve it yourself. There's so much RNG in this game, that otherwise you're in for a rough time.
Personally I find chases fun. As long as I get 2 good chases from a game, I'm perfectly satisfied regardless of whether I win or lose and achieving that is completely in my control. It literally doesn't matter what my teammates do.
