Guys, I am brand new at this game. Me, as a killer, I have NEVER EVER allowed a single survivor to escape. Not even one!

Now, as a survivor, When a killer changes to me, I know 80% chance I'm dead. If the game lags (location rollback) it's 100% chance + Alt F4.

If I enter a game in a indoor map, 100% Alt F4, Also, if I encouter DOC to be the Killer, Alt F4 too!

When I say Alt F4, I don't mean literally, but I do attempt to escape the first hook, and I do not press space if it fails ...

---EDIT --- I lied. I let a couple of survivors escape through the hatch.

I know I'm new... I'm trying to give the game a shot but. as a survivor it's 100% unplayable IMO. unless the killer is complete trash.

Also, that BBQ perk killers have, it's broken 100%. Might as well open up ollydbg + morphine and create a ring0 ESP to make it fair. I don't see another way.

Killers are OP at the beginning because survivors don't know how play at the beginning.

If the game didn't roll us back from point B back to point A so often, I could maybe learn how to loop the killer for much longer. Every time it rolls back and I get hit, It is so frustrating, I just suicide and leave my team.

Don’t listen to this guy. This is bait too. Killers can run on survivors just as well as survivors can run on killers. Certain killers really just have so much potential to slam people so consistently. This guy saying “low quality bait” is probably just bad at the game. Good killers get consistent 4Ks. They’re overpowered in the right hands. I once had a killer who still got 4K dragging everyone down to the basement despite the fact multiple times I wiggled off. Still got everyone with huntress. I’m a firm believer killers are too much. The ebony Mori’s, the fast walking speed, the ranged attacks/melee lunges. Killers got what they need to dominate. You just have to have some awareness and map knowledge. More often than not playing with random red and purple rank survivors i still Find that we don’t get out as often as I feel we should to make it fair.

High rank play is OP 😂 body blocking flash light stuns, etc I get it. But I’m telling you killers are still kinda ridiculous. They don’t need ebony Mori’s. It’s a short cut.

Everyone who has played the game for a while (especially the ones who play since 2016 like me) knows that killers are OP.

I do not find the game enjoyable to play as a survivor. The killers are 100 WAY WAY OP. I decline the company of my close friends, because I will not play as a survivor. Survivors are defenseless, they stand no chance vs a killer... As a killer though... With the huntress I can throw my axe across the map and often hit, With Hill Billy I can pretty much move from one side of the map to the next in a few seconds, I don't even need to learn other killers because these alone are unbeatable. If ANY OF YOU SURVIVORS with RED rank, want to go vs me with a killer, I challenge you.

Invite your best team mates, I will certainly own you with my mere 3 weeks of experience as a KILLER vs your years of survivors.

I will bet money on PAYPAL or any platform...

This is how confident I am that the killers are WAY OP.

Killers are joke in this game. If survivors dont do mistakes killers stand no chance.

I'm not the best survivor on Earth by any means, but I will gladly take you up on that if you're serious.

As for BBQ, there are several ways to counter it. The easiest is to hide in a locker, which will hide your aura completely from the killer. Get in the locker when you see them pick up one of the other survivors, wait until they hook them, count for five seconds, then you can safely leave the locker. If there are no lockers nearby, you can hide behind an uncompleted generator - generator auras and survivor auras as seen with BBQ are both red, so it makes it much harder for the killer to see your position at a glance. If all else fails, you can walk or run in one direction when your teammate gets hooked, and then after five seconds, walk back in the other direction. The killer will generally assume that you kept going the same direction you were heading at first and search for you in that area.

I disagree. My discord clan already challenged me to prove me wrong dude. They are not noobs! They play since the game came out. I beat them with trapper twice just like that... The killers move speed is WAY too fast man. A killer can play very very dirty. Survivors can't they are just defenseless.

    They are all red ranks.

It doesn't matter what you say man... Killers are OP and every body knows it. People who watch twitch know it, people who play as survivors know it. If I wasn't able to select to be a killer, I would have quit this game on my first week!

But since I can select to play as a killer, it doesn't bother me.

I just wish I could enjoy both sides of the game. But it's not doable.

    -- EDIT --

Killers are not just OP... They are WAY OP... 100% UNFAIR.

I bet 100% your a killer! I can tell by your post!

I will keep being a Killer lol! It's just getting old owning all those survivors, they have no chance, I can play and eat at the same time no problem. No game concentration is needed to kill the survivors... Its a guaranteed sacrifice all!.... I don't even play that bull crap game trying to maximize the blood points... I go for the Kill... No perks needed.

Even if killers had no perks, they'd still be WAY op anyways. That's how bad it is.

  • Xetal
    Xetal Member Posts: 15

Come on man... I have less than 3 weeks of experience... I should not be owning people this easy.

It's not about touting that the killers are OP... It's because I'd like to enjoy playing both sides... Then I can enjoy being a killer AND a survivor.

As of now killer is so OP its too easy

You're a killer with three weeks experience owning survivors who probably also have three weeks of experience.

People have already explained this to you, the skill floor for killers is way lower, while the skill ceiling for survivors is way higher. Killers dominate at low ranks because survivors make mistakes constantly. At high ranks survivors play optimally and sweating it out just to get a 2k is very common. You can see streams of high ranking killer mains and see that they do not win all the time either, nobody wins all the time.

  • Xetal
    Xetal Member Posts: 15

It's not attitude man... It's frustration... I'd love to enjoy my $9.99 worth, + $127.00 DLC worth.

If I am playing alone, no biggie, I'll be a killer. But when my people come online and invite me to the party, instead of being happy I'm about to play with my buddies, I get sad because I am going from a winning streak to an unfair game of survivor....

Think about it this way... as an example... I learned 3 killers so far... The most OP IMO being Hill Billy...

The chain saw has no cool down man! I can just bring my self to any place in the map! And once im there, I don't need to 1 hit them with the chain saw, I can just regular hit them, hang them, and go to the next corner of the map! The ONLY time the chain saw isn't too effective is in one of the indoor maps which I don't know its name... So right there, if the chain saw had a 15 to 20 second cool down, Hill Billy would still be WAY OP.

Thats just one example... The game is broken man. You know it, I know it. Everyone knows it.

The survivors ONLY have a chance vs the killer IF all of the below are true:

    1) The killer is not playing dirty, the killer is trying to hang every one evenly. The killer is going for points at all costs.

    2) The entire team of survivors can voice chat (the game offers no chat options(am I wrong?)) Survivors need to be able to voice chat 100%. Specially with randoms. Random survivors simply have no chance vs a good killer. Why don't we have a voice chat feature?

    3) The killer has zero perks (no BBQ bull crap, and others)

    4) The game stops lagging (My internet is 1gbps up and down, my supreme system i9 9900k 2080ti) I get constant roll backs EVERY SINGLE GAME. My character moves back from the current position to the previous.

Man... Watch this chick play when she goes online. In the past week 2 weeks, she let 2 survivors escape... Though the hatch! They will NEVER, EVER open the door.

Perhaps the whole issue, is the the game's matching system, matching the wrong level people? If that's the case never mind everything I said

    Rivyn Member Posts: 3,022

Everything you just said makes me believe you've never been, or at least never stayed, in high rank matches as killer. By high rank, I mean at least 6 and up.

Killers seem to be OP in the early ranks, especially with new players. Their objective, and how they complete it, appear straight forward. it's only when you are in higher levels of play does it become cloudy, and the power role shift from killer to survivor. Every objective player can see it, and admits to it. 'Good' killers do not consistently get 4ks in higher ranks, nor are they 'overpowered' by any means. Just to claim that is absurd. I'm not denying that some killers can be particularly strong, stronger in some situations than others, but to claim they're overpowered? Come on.

Bringing up a match where the four of you potatoes out of a stubborn killer really isn't helping your case.

The fact that you're a 'firm believer' in killers having 'too much,' well, that's your opinion, but the facts state otherwise. Which, again, proves to me you've never, or at least held, high rank killer play.

Then to end it with 'we don't get out as often as I feel we should to make it fair,' that's just plain crazy talk. 'Fair' doesn't play into account here. You're not entitled to an escape. by whatever 'fair' measurement you have in place. To me, that just screams survivor rule book.

Looking at this post. I still don't get why do most oppressed killers say stupid things like "Survivor is ez, hurr durr nerf DS and nerf BT to oblivion" just because they have a bad game and feel entitled to it.

Otherwise, Xetal reminds me of my young virgin age when playing Dead by Daylight the first time.

I played against many campers that only gets 1 kill while my teammates gen rushed only to be insulted by the killer that says gen rush is an issue. I played against killers that camps and he still gets 4kills. I played against killers only to have no kills and get looped constantly.

I played against random survivors only to be rekt by good survivor that put quite a good show. I played against SWF that does a lot of mistakes such as failing loops and using pallets early.

It's a combination of RNG and skills

But, a good advice, do play a in a higher rank match-making on both roles. It's a really fun game once you get the hang of it and realising the mistake you do.

Hey im absolutely awful at this game but if you're in the same region and on the same platform as me (pc, EU), and if three other people wanna join me (on voice comms, naturally, because if killers are unbeatable we should all use those), without using keys or moris, then I'd be down. Don't even want the money, I just want a game op.

Now to your original point, they seems strong now but they're not. This game is the most balanced it has been but often if you face a team of good survivors without a mori you need to hope they mess up.

At the start when you're learning survivor, my advice is to go watch streamers who play survivor, ardetha plays both, Aaron, jrm, otzdava, maybe even true. Learn to play from watching these guys and then put it into practice. You learn the basics of looping and mindgames, of which structures are safe and how to run them, which pallets are good and which are bad.

Plus you learn to play survivor through playing killer. Give that a shot. They're not as op as you think, op.

Good luck, and I'll see you out there in the fog.

(in all seriousness if anyone wants to join me on ops challenge as long as he's the right region and platform and you are too ill happily oblige, ain't got nothing else to do.)

If you're new to the game then ya, you're gonna die a ton as survivor. Like, a lot. You still don't know the maps, how to loop and waste time, or when to be altruistic vs when to do gens. Killer is so boring early on because all you gotta do is walk up to each survivor and down them. They don't even put up much of a chase.

I highly recommend you watch videos on how to loop effectively on YouTube. Once you know how to do this, you'll be able to waste the killer's time buying your team time to do gens.

I agree. I am still new at the game and I am HORRIBLE at survivor. Now, am I any good at killer? Maybe not GOOD , but playing killer seems to be much easier for a noob than survivor. I like playing both equally right now...

Okay, this thread needs to be closed. No point to argue with this guy. He's just a troll. I'm wondering why people talking to him, seriously. He will find the truth about killer being OP when he face a JUST good, not experienced-veteran, group of survivors.

    Hello and welcome to DBD

As many have mentioned, it is very easy to start as a killer and very hard to start as a survivors (as you experience).

But once you learn how to be a good survivor, you will realise, that the game is not killersided as you think.

Unfortunately the lower ranks are filled with griefing killers who avoid ranking up. Many of these love to camp and tunnel to the extreme and exploit new players. They can't hang at the higher ranks and they prefer to bully lower ranks. This lasts until around rank 10, then you just get the boosted killers until around rank 2-3. (I'm one of the boosted killers as I'm colorblind and can't see a Jane in her rainbow shirt on half the maps unless she moves.)

Honestly, if you want to get more BP, have a little bit more control, and mitigate the horrible grind that is DbD, I'd recommend switching to killer. Yes, many survivors and SWF are toxic turds, but you still get lots of BP chasing them around. Unlike survivor where you get one toxic azzhat with a chainsaw nodding his head at you and you leave the match with 1-2k if your lucky. Trust me, killer is a thousand times better. Made the switch two years ago and have not questioned it once.

One of my first red rank matches I decided to play Clown shortly after his release, and I got curbstomped and promptly kicked back down to purple ranks.

Later on, one of my friends DMed me to inform me who exactly it was that left me a broken mess on the floor. For it was not JUST OhTofu, not just Zubatlel, but also Grimmymore in a random happen chance match, all of them running solo.

Trust me, if you get to red ranks quickly, you'll get reminded why you need to practice more lmfao.

Bbq op lmao, I can't believe someone believes that, there are only a few killers that can use bbq to their advantage, oni, huntress, nurse, billy, maybe demo? But man, killer op posts are just funny since everyone knows that killers are weaker than survivors.

Once you reach high ranks where people are not new you will change your mind on who is op, also just because your friends have been playing since the game came out doesn't mean that they are good, if they also die every match then that means that they are not that good at the game, survivors have infinites, safe pallets, vaults, 2nd chance perks, and communication if you playing with your friends.

This seems like a bait post so I will stop there.
