Do Something About the Exit Switch Lights
You know, the three little red lights above the exit switch.
In EGC, killer doesn't even need to go to the gate to check it. They can just pick a place in the middle of the map where they can see the lights from both gates easily. With the way gates spawn so often on maps, easy to cover both. Soon as one lights up it is over. The gate won't get opened before the killer reaches it and there's no way a survivor is going to evade a killer and make it to the other gate in time to open it.

Well, it's a matter of too clear map visibility from far away that you are addressing. It's a pretty important balance issue that gets no attention whatsoever.

You can't be serious.
Now if they change the map visibility then more than just killers are going to suffer. You're not even taking players with poor eye into account. Plenty of players are making it out of gates currently. You have plenty of time if you learn how to work the environment we have to your advantage like the others who are getting out just fine.

@ReikoMori Yes, you can escape in this scenario... but there is a catch... you will escape only if there is no light of sight for both gates and they aren't too close together... outside this all you can hope for is to find a key.

I'm not saying kill the lights entirely, but the way they work now is at 25% completion the first light comes on, then one at 50% and last one at 75%. After the first light comes on the killer has 15 seconds to make the gate. Usually more than enough time from the center of most maps. Standard 115 killer can cover 69 meters in that time just walking, several killers can cover that distance or be a threat in far less than 15 seconds.
I don't feel first light should come on until 50%.

This again....
If you're the last a live the situation should be next to impossible to overcome......... it's a 4v1...... meaning when it gets to a 1v1 situation its supposed to be a pressure time for the survivor..... this is the entity's and the entity wants the survivors dead.... why on earth should anything be done to the exits to make them safe?

Pop the first light, stealth to the other gate, open it without any resistance. If you can't do this regularly, you should practice stealth a bit since this should be a standard part of a survivor's skill set.

You know why killer is really a power role? Not because he have better powers than the survivors... It's because he controls the game, survivors have to respond to the killer's actions... and its lasts until gens are done, then killer is forced to respond to action of opening a gate, he isn't a power role anymore, unless he is using endgame perk that blocks the exit because now survivors have to respond to this one perk.
That's why killers so strongly focused on protecting gens are losing (without a build that was made around this), they are responding to survivors actions of repairing gens, so survivors are controlling the game.
So what about the killers who are committed to a chase too much? At this point they are giving the control to a chased survivor because he is deciding where the killer will go.
That's the truth why the killers are the power roles, they are controlling the game by applying the map pressure and as soon as they can't do that, they are becoming weak and the only way of applying pressure against the sole survivor is to chase him, which is stupidly way too easy when the gates are too close.

@LastShoe hold on now. By your own admission, both protecting gens and chasing survivors gives the Survivors control of the game.
But besides those 2 actions what else can a Killer even do? If you aren't patrolling a gen and you aren't chasing a survivor then what ARE you doing? And how exactly is whatever this hypothetical action is going to put pressure on the survivors?

Not sure why everone's moaning about gates being too close together, I've never had a problem with this as a survivor.

If you're talking to me about bad eyesight, don't. I have intense corn vision. I think it's stupid for the atmosphere of a horror game like this one to have clear lines of sight everywhere there's an open field. A lesser clear render distance would solve some of the issues regarding The Nurse's overwhelming strength at a distance and would also make the game look better as a whole.

It won't make the game look better, it won't help with the Nurse as we actually had your idea on the older game engine and she perform just as well as she ever does. Also you're talking to someone who has 35/29 vision and playing the game when it was insanely murky looking and had more line of sight breakers was hell.
Again, the devs have done it and decided not to keep when switching to new engine we currently run on.

Maybe changes should be made since the Exit Gates are supposed to be your one and only threshold to reach safety. The hatch is more of an intervention to The Entity's will than the Exit Gates are, in my opinion. The hatch can closed by the killer now. Closing the hatch redirects survivor(s) to their original threshold of reaching safety. I'd imagine that using the Exit Gates is more in line with The Entity's will.

Not protecting gens, over focusing gens protecting... look at the lower ranks, where some killers are patrolling gens kicking them and way too often abandoning the chases for it.
When it comes to the chases, yes, you are giving the control to the survivor and the good survivor will lead you far from important objectives and try to loop you because of that you have to end chases quickly to regain control and you should almost never be overcommited to the unfavorable chase.
You can see this in games when a survivor loops the killer way to long away from the gens/hooks... and even can be blamed by his team if he don't do that.

I've tried that. You might have a chance if you are a blendette with urban evasion, but you just can't make the other gate fast enough. After they are done searching the area, you might have just made it to the other gate using stealth by which time the killer has already resumed checking the other gate for lights from a distance. If the killer sees you or your scratch marks it is all over. They don't even need to catch you, just chase until timer ends.

There is this lovely perk called Wake Up that opens gates faster if you commit to opening the gate and getting the hell out.

Tried that also. The exit gate auras are more useful than the mere 3 seconds it saves (if the killer doesn't use remember me). So I think the light still comes on with the same amount of time for the killer to react.
It helps if you go for the 'wait by a gate until the killer closes the hatch and hope he doesn't check your gate first' strategy. Lot of times due to bbq/chili you cannot just position yourself at a gate without exposing your location giving the killer another edge in that race cause they know which gate you are near.

Fail to press the I-Win-Button after failing to do generators, get another chance with the EGC, complain about EGC.
That situation should in no way be an easy win for the last survivor.

bla bla bla... EGC need changes and killer want more easy 4K.

Wuah 15%. Realy nigg a burn perk slot for 2,25 secs?

Due to the b&C you can't position yourself? Lockers... its possible that killer will waste his time searching the area near the hook.

IDC how old this post is this is truly a problem I play a match solo or duos besides the point i run kindred cuz other survivors don’t care to play right we get a camping leather face running insidious but we can all see him cuz my perk he has someone in basement instead of rushing gens the other 2 goes to basement to unhook leather face swings his chain saw and drops them hook them goes back to his same camping spot I can see him we all can once they realize I’m not going to basement to die with them they all kill them selves killer rushes off find hatch closes it so we are in endgame time is of the essence exits gates pretty close he’s not walking to them fully just checking lights he’s back to each gate about 7 secs to look soon as he seen a red turn red he stays in the vicinity knowing that even if I go to other gate it’s not enough end game to get out so he standing there with insidious hoping I come out I still go to gates end game gets me gg
