That's... exactly how it goes? If you went up against a survivor that you've played with before, and you know what perks they have that are counter to your perks, you're telling me you wouldn't switch them out to have a better advantage? What about when you see a whole team carrying flashlights, medkits, or toolboxes. You've never adjusted your perks accordingly? What about map offerings? Killers with specific powers? You're telling me you would run infectious fright on say Demo and expect it to work the exact same as it would on say Freddy?
Yes, to have a chance, you must be willing to adapt and strategize. If all you use is the same 4 meta perks EVERY game for EVERY Killer, that would be the most boring match ever. Regardless of who's playing who. And you are guaranteed to eventually lose because Survivors know how to play around you.

Actually I still can because it applies. I've beaten good enough SWF teams where the match was drawn down to who made the first mistake. Have I lost against solid teams before as well? Well of course, but that's based on MY mistakes. Not abandoning a chase against a survivor who knows how to run tiles, not focusing on specific areas that need attention, running the wrong perks, etc. And idk who these streamers are that you mentioned and nor do I care (I don't watch streamers). They don't speak for the community and they are no worse and no better than the average DBD player. Again, Gen rushing is not a problem. I've had it where I didn't find a survivor until the first gen was already done 20-30 seconds in and STILL won. It happens dude.

The problem is more of the core mechanics of the game. DbD is a working assymetrical game, but still far from perfect. And I think that's where you feel it that stuff can be learned and improved. For example, playing killer might be better for both sides, if the killer progress linear and not per survivor. Just imagine, how different it would be, if you know for certain if hook x will give you an elimination. Of course it would come with it own downsides as well, but it would be less frustrating compared to the current one.
Thing is DbD is a little bit too far stretched in what it can be. From a nice casual experience to an extreme sweaty game, like you described and I think it would be better if the potential of the game would get narrowed more by the game mechanics. I think that would make the experience more enjoyable for a serious high level playstyle. Even though that's hard to nail. Like said. Assymetrical games are just hard to hit quite well.

Yes. Since the DC ban, Killer behavior has been the most disgustingly toxic it has ever been because there is zero recourse. IMO, this unchecked behavior is ruining the game. It's no fun to die on first hook because you're getting face camped or hard tunneled to death. It's not fun to watch it happen to someone else either. I'm sure you're magical looping fairy that NEVER has this happen to you...but most days it is 90% of matches for survivors. And, when a killer is being toxic to a survivor all you can do is hang there and endure it now. When a killer is triggered he can chase down and face camp his assaulter, which at least provides a little retribution. LOL Survivors have nothing to relieve that stress. You can't leave. You can't block people who play like that. You can't see if you got them in the next lobby. You can suicide but that eliminates any possibility of getting pts...you'll probably depip while giving that guy pts. The game is the worst its ever been right now. I am not alone. I am a streamer and interact with tons of people in the stream community who play this game, obviously - since it's one of my faves. Almost every survivor main I know has taken to either quitting, playing sparsely and focusing on a new game, or they will ONLY play in a SWF because you have a mildly better chance of survival in those situations.

The difference is that when a killer is triggered by someone he can chase them down and kill them, which at least provides a little retribution. LOL When a survivor is triggered they get to hang there and endure it, because they have no outlet. They can't leave. They can't block someone who is being toxic. They can't see if they've gotten them in the next lobby. Sure, you can suicide on hook to the detriment of your pts while giving pts to the person ruining your game. That's it. It's immensely frustrating and absolutely no fun. It's not fun to experience first hand and it's not fun to watch it happen to someone else. I Stream and interact with A LOT of other streamers who play this particular game, since it's one of my faves. Every one of them has either quit this game, admittedly play it far less than they used to in favor of other games, or will ONLY play a SWF because its at least mildly more effective in these situations.

Getting gen rushed isn't fun for killers either. Why do you think so many players tunnel and camp?
It happens because they want to secure a kill. Always hooking different survivors is a recipe for defeat. I think that games would be a lot more enjoyable for both sides if they lasted longer: killers could take more time to chase new survivors, which would reduce the amount of camping and tunnelling that is currently going on.
The ruin nerf broke the game's "balance". There is a reason why so many killers ran it. But the devs decided to gut it anyway, stripping the killers of the ONLY perk that allowed them to have some breathing room. Now, most of them play sweaty (moris, noed) because they feel like it's the only way to have a chance.

I think most killers tunnel and camp because they are lazy and don't like to lose, if I am being honest with you. I can somewhat understand that play style if the match is going poorly or its end game and they're defending their hook...but most killers just come out of the gate playing like that, regardless. I think it is skilless, lazy, and rude.
I play killer. I am mid-ranked, so I don't sweat in red rank lobbies as a Killer, but I never camp or tunnel. I always hook a different survivor - even if I come across a fresh off-hook by chance. I don't have much trouble 4king by playing fairly, and I don't have a problem pipping, but I've also felt the sting of defeat from a SWF. I do understand it's frustrating and can make you feel a bit powerless. Especially if the survivors are cocky. I understand that's not much fun for you. But, you should understand, that's how killers who disable players from playing the game make at least some survivors feel almost every match.
Killers also get ramped up when a gen has popped in the start of a match and they havent hooked anyone yet. THAT IS ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN. You can't chase everyone and apply pressure at the same time. Matches tend to get more and more difficult as they progress - as you're able to do things that slow down progress, like hook/injure people, get POP off on their gens, etc.
I, personally, never cared about Ruin. IMO, it was an opportunity to get more gen pts and I never even bothered looking for it - but I have too many hours in this game. As killer, I never ran it because I don't care for perks that can be nullified in the first moments of a game for the rest of the match. In newb ranks, I can understand how it was a much bigger road block for new survivors entering the game vs. the obstacles new killers have (depending on the killer). So, I understand the change, but I wasn't one lobbying for it. I have a great time running thana, pop, and overcharge, personally. I disagree that Ruin is the ONLY perk that allows killers breathing room.
I'd love for it to be true that killers only camp/tunnel because they're just SO disadvantaged, but it's simply not true. Killers have a lot more information going into a match than survivors do. They control how they pursue sacrifice in the game and can change that methodology any time. Changes have been routinely made to address MANY of their gripes (loops, windows, palettes, hook placement, survivor perks, survivor offerings, etc.).
I can definitely understand where your frustration stems from. But to say survivor is a breeze and it's unfathomable that the survivor experience is just as unenjoyable, if not worse, is just refusing to acknowledge how toxic this game has gotten for the majority swath of survivors who don't play SWF. Why do you think killer lobbies are long AF and matchmaking can be so skewed.

That's the point. Don't take this as an insult or something, but that's exactly the point. There's such a skill gap between red ranks and green ranks.

I'm purple, and the only reason I am not a higher ranked killer is because I don't play killer nearly as often. I'm going to assume that because you ignored everything else I said that you acknowledge it and don't have any opposition. 👍️
