Doctor is pretty strong killer

Ever since I mained the Doctor, I have been seeing a ridiculous increase in my 4k matches. Even when stacked against a full red rank team which is quite rare nowdays (thx matchmaking), I feel like playing against rank 10+ survivors (Even though these are really high skilled survivors I am against).

This is not to boast. I don't think it has as much to do with my own skill as it has to do with how powerful the doctor is. I have constant map awareness without any perks aiding me, and I am able to end chases very quickly when survivors depend on pallet loops, because that's just something Doctor is able to deny completely (Which feels pretty op, in my opinion).

And then there's the blast that makes sure that no one can stay hidden and I am able to keep people in lvl 2-3 madness constantly. Not to mention, the survivors have cosntant challenge fighting against skill checks that keep popping across the screen.

This isn't even the full list. Doctor has a ridicilous amount of arsenal of abilities at his disposal to hunt down the survivors, making him a very powerful killer in the right hands. I haven't felt so powerful in this game with any other killer thus far, and I have played them all for a very long time.

But tell me how you view the reworked Doctor? Whether you are up against him as survivor, or playing him as a Killer, I want to know what people think of him in general.

Hes one of the few killers with a constant presence..and I've always loved his unique and complex design

They did an amazing job with Doc. Same with Freddy.

"making him a very powerful killer in the right hands"

this is probably the most overused and abused argument in the entire forum. Because if you deliberately use the best doctor to make judgements over his strength, then you have to compare him to the strongest 4-man swf around, and I'll tell you that there's no game, ever.

doc is decent, period, nothing special nor awful. but it is pretty funny that devs deleted his passive madness increase, because it was annoying for baby survivors, just to give him the static blast, a stronger, and probably more annoying version.

If there goal was to make him “more fun,” to go against they failed. Once you factor in his addons he is strong/annoying against anyone but “real red ranks.”

He's much better than he was before, but he is not as strong as a lot of people think he is

Well, my basic wins with him has been 8/10 matches I get 4k with consistent rate. That includes games where I hook everyone randomly, not tunneling, not playing dirty cheap tricks on survivors, but just normal game. People just don't seem to be able to hold long chases with me anymore unlike when I play with any other killer in the game. The fact that I can just deny people the ability to use windows and pallets just messes up their run. It's both hilarious and sad. It's like they don't have anywhere to run anymore.

Not to mention, I can't remember the time when I have seen red rank players unable to finish a single generator in the entire game before I am able to win the match. That's just unreal, but I manage to achieve even that with the Doctor, using constant map awarness and pressure tactics across the map. This includes maps that are football stadium large and not very good maps for the Doctor.

Well, I guess the Doctor was either perfect design to my playstyle and skill level, or I think he's pretty op. I do remind that I am rank 1 both as survivor and killer, so it's not like I don't understand the ins and outs of this game. That's why I feel like the Doctor is pretty op compared to other killers.

To be fair matchmaking and ranking is a bit screwed at the moment. I'm also getting 4ks a lot at the moment, with other killers as well, but certainly not because killers are op.

His chase potential is great, though survivors that know how to go against him can still waste precious time of him for sure. His tracking is also good thanks to Static Blast, but he does lack in map pressure since he has no mobility, so patroling gens isn't his strength at all. Of course Static Blast helps a bit with map pressure, but in comparison to someone like Billy it's not that good. Which is why I think he is generally quite balanced.

Killers like Hillbilly, Freddy, Spirit or Nurse are all stronger in my opinion.

I know the matchmaking is screwed, I am talking about when I am going against my level players in red rank. I would not make a thing out of this if I was comparing my result as a rank 1 against none red rank players xd

I'd say he is in a good spot now.

Though BHVR failed if their main objective was to make him less frustrating/annoying to play against. Because he's not.

Lol to make him less frustrating or annoying would be to change his ability entirely. Getting your location screamed out no matter how you devise it is annoying. I’ve both played against him and played as him. He’s nice, he’s not great. There are plenty of killers better than him. But he’s a little better than he was before.

    Agree 100%.

Though he's honestyly more frustrating to play against if you haven't faced him that much. I use to HATE going against the doctor so much that I started running Calm Spirit. I got over it eventually but I am back to him being my second least favorite Killer to go up against. I might start running Calm Spirit again but I don't seem to face him nearly as much as I use to for some reason.

It does help when you run calm spirit. He gets your general direction but not your actual location because of the red pointer that shows up for just a couple seconds. I kind of know where people are anyway when I play as doctor so for a good doctor calm spirit is annoying and does help mask you but it doesn’t completely take away the negatives of screaming. Though that’s what most of these perks in the game do. For the best people playing perks give each person a little edge but it doesn’t completely take away the benefit to an action. As survivor I just memorize where jumps are that don’t depend on vaulting in order to use balanced landing to get distance on him and loop him. It usually works to slow him down pretty well and let gens get done. He can still be looped pretty decently.

Mm yes I'm also doing very well with Doctor nowdays, but don't like him that much but..better than before rework and lot's of people were talking about it being a nerf, but no he is definitely better now. He is in a good spot.

Yes that's why I said that the rank system is also flawed. There are many people at red ranks that certainly don't belong there.

The devs honestly did a great job with Doctor, much better than I expected. He went from being an ok Killer that can perform well in specific situations to a Killer that can do good in any situation. Unlike Killers such as Oni, Billy, Hag, and Spirit, he's strong because of his Madness to slow the game down. Looping is his weakness because of you having to time your shock correctly and Survivors being able to drop pallets early.

I have really been enjoying Doc, he is strong but counterable, I love facing him as well.

He seems to win most games. Its only the top tier of swf that pose an issue. I’m interested what his killrate is after the rework.

I'm good at chase, but not good at finding people. So when i play him, i do very well in every match (with basekit).

Blendette will never escape from me :)(unless they have calm spirit lol)
