Am i the only one who kinda wants Deathslinger to stay the same
I know he has problems with map presence but i fear that if they change that they are going to take away from his chase potential which right now is so satisfying to play with

Maybe I'm just a noob, but I don't think he should change. At least in any major way. Maybe very very small things, like quality of life or whatever.

I think he's fine.
Fantastic in a chase, slightly lacking outside.
We need more killers who's strengths are big, but so are their weaknesses to compensate.

Sorry for the bad news, but i am not sure if he can stay the way is is right now. Quickscoping in dead by dayight... which genius had that smart idea?
So, even if they dont give him more map pressure (which would be a shame!), they have to change his ability in order to give the survivors ANY form of counterplay. All i say is Legion 1.0.

Deathslinger's power does feel satisfying, but he still definitely needs some more map pressure. It's unlikely that you'll get a 4k in red ranks if you don't use PGTW, Discordance or any other anti-gen perk.

He is FAR from another Legion release situation. There is plenty of counterplay! Loop, genrush, and break that chain, baby.

he is fine

If you think you can loop a deathslinger, you have not played against a really good deathslinger. All he need is a splitsecond of LOS and you are dead.
And gen genrush? Wow what a strategy. Thats exeactly why Legion 1.0 was so terrible. No defense in chase against him, but little to no gen pressure. How does this not sound familiar to some people, baby.

As strong as I think his power is, I have a feeling that the average player that tries him won't be as good as the minority so he will probably remain the same, for at least the immediate future.

Only thing i’d change for him is either bump the chain to 30m or make it have no limit. It will somewhat fix his extreme lack in gen pressure because if you see someone working on a gen, you can shoot them off it at a distance without them noticing. you most likely won’t get a down out of it but you will be able to apply more pressure.

If we can remove quickscope for compensation, i am on board.

Yeah hitting those shots last second isnt an issue of deathslinger being overpowered, it's an issue of whether or not your reaction time is better than the other player. Not to mention missed shots begin to add up on lost time in chases. He's a well balanced and fun Killer, he needs to serve as a baseline for future killers.

As a console player, I have no idea what you're on about. I haven't seen a single quickscope Deathslinger

As a pc player, i ensure you, you can quickscope survivors. Every good deathslinger does this.
This is also why i think we should split PC and Console here. Both have often different problems for example mechanics, controles and even servers.

Dude what are you talking about? This is not about "seconds" this is about tiny splitseconds. Do you actually know what quickscoping is? There is no reaction time. Let me guess, you play on console, are you?

The divide only really affects Huntress, Nurse and Deathslinger.
Plague can always wiggle her spray, but admittedly not the same way as PC.

He simply is beinh slowed down a lot.
You walk slowly, reload slowly, walk slowly while reloading, reel in slowly.
In the it rakes huntress to chug ~3 hatchets at a survivor and down them he cant even injure his first survivor.
Tru3 made a good comparison vid.
An opinion ive bern seeing a lot is that "his abilizy is not strong enough for him to be 110%ms".

Slinger got insane chase potential but no map pressure. Just give him a short scoping animation and make him 115% for that one.

Sounds like a dedicated server issue. My survivors just watch me and if they see me move my arm, they start wiggling.
I can't even hit survivors through pallets like you see streamers do, because my ping is so low...

If they make him a 115% killer, then simply put, they'll bump up his TR and then have to either lengthen the chain to compensate, or nobody will actually get a harpoon any time soon.
It's currently an 18m shot, with a 24m base TR, 16m with M&A.

Luckily he has big weaknesses but little strengths so he will be accepted by survivors just fine..the killer is a person who wants to win too
0 -
That is false..you can see him both aim and the shot has a little delay..your window is short but reacting to his shot is still not difficult

Gunslinger is hilarious fresh change to the game, but just like nurse, he changes the core design how survivors should run away from the killer, something that I downright despise as a design choice in dbd. Windows or pallet loops are no longer reliable. Many pallets and windows have become death traps against Gunslinger, unfortunately. Not to mention that you need to constantly be running like a headless chicken hoping to avoid the hookshot just like with huntress, which in itself gives the gunslinger easier time to close the gap between him and the survivor to deliver a basic attack.
This especially feels extremely punishing when the gunslinger has something like noed or active devaour hope hex totem to down you instantly, as the hookshot is still counted as normal basic attack once reeled in for the hit. I know the game is unfair, but it doesn't need to be this unfair.
Plus, what I have been playing Gunslinger, I absolutely burst in laugh everytime the survivors think they are in a safe side of a pallet loop and I just hook them and reel myself to their side of the loop to get a free hit. Many times they even stand behind what they believe is a safe cover to avoid the hookshot, but the hookshot has that needle thin hitbox that can pass through many objects that seem impossible to penetrate.

You're not supposed to 4K every game.
The developers mentioned killers are supposed to be balanced around a 2K average, which means all the 0Ks, 1Ks, 2Ks, 3Ks, and 4Ks average together to around a 2K. 😁

Not if his ads will remain slower than a strafing survivor , and not if his ability just remains constant free gen time tbh..too many steps

"Big" weaknesses that can be compensated for by perks.
And I know killers want to win, I play them too.

How in any way could he be Legion 1.0. Just because he is confirmed an injure doesn't make him uncounterable. He can't down you with his power but he can injure. He is more like new Legion and Legion is 115 % speed while Slinger is 110 %. You just throw down pallets early when injured and he can't down you, he'll get a Deep Wound on you when you're injured and that's it.

Using perks to fix issues is a bad philosophy..I was half joking before but seriously..old nurse minus addons was the best killer by design ever made..hard to master but rewarding

I never said that you're supposed to get one every game. I said that it's unlikely.

I quickscope in PS4. But only in loops and medium ranges.
About no reaction, there is 0,125 seconds to the survivor react, and except for loops, sometimes they actually react! Its counterable.
About the OP, Deathslinger is great, indeed.

115%, 28m TR and 25m range seems good for me.

I’ve no issues. He seems balanced in my experience, when the survivors are predictable and I make decent shots and a smart decision or two, then I capitalize and get 4K. When the survivors are good at predicting, movement and taking advantage of his 110% speed then I get punished and everyone gets away. It’s the same like every killer, he is powerful enough to win but easy enough to be bullied among higher rank. Since were balanced around new players, this works (?).
If I was to change anything about that gen pressure idea about extending his range. Just make it so that he has to stand still for an approx amount of time to have the extended shot. That means he has to A) have line of siight, B) be immobilized for a few seconds C) aim and fire.
Plenty of time to give the survivor ample chance to have kept up with their surroundings and moved away from the gen and Deathslinger. Just punishes Survivors not paying attention and gives another mind gaming tool for Deathslinger to use.
Also if Decisive Strike wasn’t abbreviated to DS, would we be calling him DS instead?
1 -
just bump his terror radius up a bit and I think hes fine.
0 -
Yeah, we would be abreviating him as DS. ;)
0 -
Okay, my apologies, but my point still stands, why is it a bad thing (as implied by your comment) that you don't always 4K?
Aren't 2Ks and 3Ks just as good?
0 -
He's actually kinda oppressive if you are patient
Just ADS and survivors start losing distance trying to dodge a shot that isnt coming whereas huntress has Wind-up and a lower movement speed
just food for thought
0 -
He's 82.5% while aiming down sights by default. (According to the wiki)
Unless you meant quickscoping, while DS aims down the sights, survivors will gain distance even when moving erratically.
0 -
And you're telling me that quickscoping doesnt take skill? Im sorry but if a Deathslinger hits you with a quickscope then either you are being too predictable in your pathing, you were too close, or you just weren't paying attention. Not to mention that you should be constantly breaking LOS against a Deathslinger anyway. Even if you cant react to the quickscope itself, you still have time to react to the chain and dodge accordingly. You wouldn't argue for eliminating quickscoping in shooters, why argue for it here?

They won't do that though. We all know that if they make him a 115% killer, he'll get a standard 32m TR.
