Just played a few games without ds and the tunneling is crazy
I was playing on dwight who i just prestiged so i didnt have ds and almsot every game i got tunnled or facecamped. killer complain about "second chance perks" when without those perks especially ds the game just becomes tunnel simulator. i try not to use ds but since i got back to playing survivor a few days ago its just been tunneling and facecamping. And i was actually tunnled i didnt just get caught again they stayed near the hook then chased me

I don't play with DS. If I need it to survive then I shouldn't have escaped. I don't use it because I try to get better at looping/routing.

While I definitely don't get tunneled almost every game, I do think DS is kind of an necessaty in order to be able to more reliably enjoy the game. Without it, you too often just allow the killer to easily tunnel you out of the match.
The fact that some people seem to think that all killers need to be buffed, and then also complain about perks like DS absolutely baffles me. Or the fact that people want DS nerfed and then get completely offended by people who want NOED nerfed.
Buffing weaker killers and balancing the extremely survivor sided maps, sure. But DS can not be nerfed without tunneling and camping being looked at.

DS is used to help counter being tunneled, I am able to loop killers all game, i still always run DS as a safety measure

Sounds like killers are shooting themselves in the foot. If enough survivors start asking for a longer DS stun time (10-12 seconds perhaps)....let's see them eat through that.

What's sad is if enough people bitched and moaned for that. I bet BHVR would do it. Worst part is they would think it was a QoL change like the pallet stun/flash light timing patch.

No skill in the World can prevent the killer from tunneling you right off the hook. That has nothing to do with having to get better at the game.

Actually there is and it's been here all along. Don;t rescue right in the killer's face. At least not without BT. Wait for the killer to actually leave. If they don't leave, do gens and get out. Camping a hook is actually a detriment to the killer if survivors know what they're doing.
I'm a killer main and most of the time I don't tunnel off the hook. Not because I think tunneling is wrong, cause it isn't. I go after the rescuer because I assume the person pulled off the hook has Ds and BT. In that case it's actually better for me to go after the one who did the saving. Spreads the dmg out. If I see 1 healthy and 1 injured survivor, it's 90% of the time best for me to go after the injured one. If I suspect DS and BT, it's better for me to go after someone else. Provided there is someone else. If I tunnel off the hook it's because I couldn't find anyone else or you were being a douche and deserved it.

I don't use DS personally but recently I keep playing games where nobody has it. The killer usually realises this and just tunnels to their heart's desire, don't know why there isn't an obsession by default every match.

I recently had a Jeff who would run at me toward the hook, popping defensive traps along the way, and then rescue survivors in my face as soon as I was out of animation. I, of course, smacked the survivor who was unhooked because A. I didn't want this Jeff to get any potential WGLF stacks and B. because what do you think I'd do when someone's destroyed my trap network and given me an opportunity to remove a hook stage for free? The Jeff complained after the game about tunneling, and he seemed pretty self-righteous that he was doing the right thing by farming teammates because "You would have come back".
Just thought I'd share what you shouldn't do as a survivor if you wanted to prevent the killer from tunneling. Give respect and receive in turn.
