Disconnection caused by server?

Last game, while playing both me and the killer get disconnections. I get a ban as I am sure the killer did too. Why the heck do I catch a ban if I have gotten disconnected by the game? Internet connection is perfect, and I don't DC unlike some folks since I like to keep my bloodpoints. I know nothing will be done but this is insane. Devs should work on not banning server caused DCs. Why do I get punished for their incompetence?

    First of all, wrong section. This is Feedback and Suggestions, not Technical Support or Bug Reporting.

    That being said, a d/c looks like a d/c no matter what caused it. Yeah, it sucks but if it wasn't this way, we'd have a worse problem.

    Happens to me just about every day. One match, sometimes more, I get disconnected by the server. Now I get one hour penalties (6 if it happens twice in a day) because the server is having an issue.
