It's been 195 days, it's time to make Freddy's and Quentin's perks base on Switch

Dead by daylight released on Switch on September 24th and with it came two notable absences, the Nightmare on Elm Street chapter and Leatherface. People were expecting that their perks would be base perks on Switch, like console players had Bill's perks before he released on console. Instead however, they told us that these perks would be available on the shrine and that they would try to bring all missing characters on Switch. I was disappointed, as were many others I imagine, but all we could do was wait.

Within a few months, Leatherface came to Switch, along with his perks. I was happy to not have to wait for his perks (before this only one of his perks showed up in the shrine before this, which was Knock Out), and so I waited to see when the last chapter would return.

It's been over half a year since then and there has been no update from the devs about Freddy and Quentin coming to Switch. I don't blame them, as license deals have to be kept under wraps and there was a change in copyright ownership with the franchise, but doesn't fill me with hope that the chapter will come in the near future.

So I ask the devs to put the six perks of that chapter into the Switch version as base perks. We shouldn't have to wait on random chance to get perks that we have no other way to obtain, and if they get reworked like Vigil will be, there would be no way for us to try them out. Of course if Freddy does come to Switch later you can remove them from the base pool. However I think we have all been patient enough and that it's time we are brought up to par to other platforms in terms of perks.

You say only one perk showed up on the shrine in that time but it isn't true. BBQ appeared on the shrine BUT they gave the switch users a different shrine that week in order to stop them getting BBQ from the shrine. They had no issue with knockout though. Knowing full well there would be no reason to but Leatherface on the Switch if BBQ had already been on the shrine. It was a low move by BHVR and one that never got addressed on the forum by any dev.

I don’t think it has anything to do with licensing for Freddy’s DLC. His dream world effect probably probably just makes the Switch’s walmart GPU have heart attacks and 15 fps.

Yeah I remember that. They changed the shrine because of the archives but since we didn't have them yet they left us with the old shrine and didn't change it. I did make a bunch of posts at the time and they basically told me they weren't going to change it for us. It was quite a low move I have to agree.

We already have killers that are intensive on the games engine like Doctor. No reason to not put Freddy on there as even if he didn't work well they would still get money from the DLC. Plus they probably would have told us if the Switch was too weak for Freddy by now.

If the Switch can handle the Witcher 3 it can handle a DLC killer in DBD.

Bumping this so this doesn't fall into forum obscurity. If a Dev could give a response to this I'll be grateful.

Sorry to bump this again but this is easier than making a new post. If any of the devs could give a response to this I'll be grateful.

It would definitely be nice if we got those perks on switch. I grabbed bloodwarden when it was up on the shrine, I've been wanting that one for a long time. You can tell that most players do not have that perk because most survivors make the fatal error of staying to long in the end. Would make it more challenging if more survivors expected it and ran instead of staying in the exit zone waiting to get pussed out. Easy pickings... If they implemented them now I would still buy Freddy/ Quentin and I think most will since the rework is great. 😁

It makes sense to make the perks available even if the characters are not. That happened for Bill's perks before, so they should do it again for Freddy's and Quentin's perks on Switch.
