Shelter woods is a survivor sided map. Mind changed
Before entering the "why" pls remove bubba and billy of your mind, these killers changes it to balanced
First reason: The map is giant and gens are so spread out, basic reason which everyone can agree
Second reason: The map is like a tiny version of Thompson's house, you can very easily chain loops: That map has like 7 jungle gyms with an filler pallet connecting each other and killer shack

I hate Shelter Woods. It’s got a bunch of dead zones with no map geometry and some of the longest lines of site in the game.
Sprint Burst is pretty much a requirement to not get hit doing half the Gens

Shelter woods has a giant deadzone,aka the whole middle. Most pallets are the rock ones which can be easily red glow mindgamed,and you can sometimes get the ######### luck of 0 jungle gyms and only pallet gyms/T l walls. Those are some of the reasons

I just checked the stats. It's in the top 25% for high kill rates. So it's not "Survivor sided". :)

I disagree , at least from my personal experience (rank 1 btw) I usually get a 3k or a 4k. you just gotta realise that there will be some gens that you cannot protect, try and find three or four gens near each other and rotate between those .

Imo this map is balanced. There are a reasonable amount of pallets that are ALL mindgamable. Alot of fair loops and a decent size. The gens are decently spread out and the map is pretty open for Killers like Huntress, Billy etc. The map only has to few windows.
Only 2 critiques are:
-Add hills to this map so balanced landing is not that useless
-Add more jungle gyms or other window loops

Doesn't this map have the lowest number of pallet spawns? Or used to? I remember hearing something to that effect.
Regardless, while you might get stealth genrushed on this map because of how far apart the gens are, that can happen on any map. Loops can be easily chainable, depending on the map RNG, but that's inconsistent and you can just end the chase and go after another Survivor. Furthermore, none of the loops are this map are unmindgameable like those on Thompson House.
What makes this map Killer sided (IMO) is that most of the time breaking a single pallet turns a good 20 or 32 meter area into a deadzone. On Killers like Freddy, Michael, Spirit, Bubba, or Hillbilly this makes a huge difference, and even M1 Killers can snowball very fast because of how open and empty the map is.
If Survivors win on this map, it's because they used Stealth well in some capacity or the Killer is bad at chases (either landing hits or knowing when to leave).

One of the worst maps for survivors is survivors sided. Sure. Its really painful looking into the forums lately.

This map is about as survivor sided as the likes of Ormond and Haddonfield are killer sided.

Despite its large size, Shelter Woods is a killer sided map for one reason and one reason alone: It has the fewest number of pallets of any map in the entire game. To call shelter woods survivor sided is downright laughable

It's one of my better survival maps. Of the MacMillan ones, I die most on Suffocation Pit (line of sight, what's that?) and Coal Tower (feels tiny).

I hate that map as killer or survivor. It is my least favorite map. Too dark and great for Blendettes who crawl around all game when I play killer. Wide open with mostly unsafe loops that are sometimes very spread apart when I play survivor. Just way too open in the middle. If I could avoid only one map, that would be it for me.

Idk why but I always get genrushed on that map lol. Maybe people know that there are only a few good pallets and that's why they try their best to repair and escape quickly.

Im willing to say this map is fairly balanced due to how bad it is for both sides.
