is it possible to hack to see survivors?
I've had a couple games tonight where I've been hiding WAY out of the way in weird spots and the killer has bee-lined right toward me, and they haven't been using chili or any other perks that would have told them where I was. I know there's a lot of anti-cheat software on the game, but is it possible that these players have a hack that's showing them where survivors are?

It is possible, and it exists. The issue is that even if you record it, the devs are pretty much powerless. You simply cannot prove wallhacking in a game like this one, most of the time. The person might argue that they are a god in the game, and just have a feeling where everyone is at all times/can hear the survivors or killers across the whole map, because they have $2k headphone set or something. Unless it is insanely obvious nothing much can be done about it.

well, at least I can report them, and hopefully reporting someone means that you'll be less likely to be matched with them in the future.

I can assure you that those wall hacks are detectable. They all inject code and the devs can see that when it's reported.

Try to get some clip of it, then submitting a report on this site.
Always report them in game as well, you'll get a reply from a moderator, maybe to ask you more questions.
But always have proof.

Just to clarify, did you check perks/addons? There's plenty that give specific scenario wallhacks. If you're sure, you do need to at least take a screenshot of the postgame screen (the Devs said they cannot listen to reports without any evidence, I think an post-game screen specifically showing a build without Aura reading applies)

Don't underestimate how good killers can be at predicting where you are at. I can remember seeing someone when I go to hook someone else, and then calculate the only places they could possibly be hiding if I don't see scratch marks.
It's quite unlikely they were cheating, and if it's a wall hack there is no way for you to prove it from your perspective. They've had to have recorded it from theirs.

A really good killer is able to straight up predict what a survivor will do, after all it's their job to mindgame you into a hit.

Sometimes I’m not as sneaky as I hoped. Killer saw me walking to my hiding spot, etc.

Most of the time survivors are just bad at hiding, this game also has a lot of addons and powers that grant aura reading to killers.

Yes. The amount of hackers seems to have increased recently.

it depends on the killer and perks tbf. Wraith can see you within 12 meters with his Add-On while Cloaked, Bitter could activate as a Gen is complete and the survivor is seen via Aura, Myer's can use Scratched mirror to Aura, or stalk with Add-Ons and see your Aura. I'm All Ears shows your Aura if you perform a loud action. BBQ could have activated and revealed you. There's many scenarios so there is no exact way to prove a killer has hacked unless you see proof of it from them. Basing it on that they found you hiding doesn't prove much really.

Anything is possible by adjusting the code of the game to provide a player with an unfair advantage, cheating. However sometimes there is simply a killer that has a good pair of headphones and has their volume turned up loud. It is in fact possible to hear the healthy breathing of survivors and hear their footsteps as they walk, they are slightly quieter than the spirit's footsteps but it is possible to hear them.

oh! you're right! I'd forgotten about scratched mirror. The worst one was against Myers, and he didn't have a perk that would explain it, but I didn't think to check his add-ons.

That's what wall hacks means? Jesus. I've been reported countless times for "Wall hacks" and I thought they were meaning I hit them through the wall or something even though it was probably just a latency issue on their end. People are dumb and don't like being outplayed, reporting anyone who's too good. I recall getting reported one time because I was herding 3 survivors into a shack as Freddy and began to feign teleport to the Gen. One dropped a pallet and stood outside waiting as I approached him so I dropped the teleport and downed him. Got reported for cheating.

Have you also considered that maybe you are running to your destination and leaving scratch marks? I've caught survivors who would've never been noticed by me had I not seen the faint scratch marks in the area.

there are multiple public wallhacks available. they don't seem to know how to update the anticheat to block them.
If you think the killer is using a wallhack, they probably are. Watch as they bee-line for you and all your teammates at the start of the trial and take the fastest route possible because they know exactly where everyone is. You can even see them pre-swinging their weapon around corners many times.

If you suspect they are hacking, take screenshots or record. Report and provide as much information as you can.

Calling out someone for cheating who isn't is probably the biggest compliment you can ever give someone.
One of my favorite huntress streamers, CoconutRTS, regularly gets called out for hacking; for being a god with his hatchet shots and using bitter murmur to snipe people across the map.

Yes it's entirely possible. There was a wallhack thing going around in 2018 that has made a comeback recently (along with noclip). Won't link to any but a quick youtube search of wallhack dbd will give you the most common one (starts with an E).
In all my time playing I've only faced a small handful of obvious wallhackers and they're usually Russians or people with existing VAC bans.

It's possible, and depending on a lot of factors it can be tricky for automated anticheat systems to detect as well. It's a neverending arms race between cheat developers and anticheat developers.
But unless it's actually detected DBD is a game where it's sort of impossible to be sure that someone cheats in the more "subtle" ways ("wallhacks"/ESP cheats for example). It could be perks, it could be their settings making someone stick out like a sore thumb in a hiding place they thought they were invisible, or it could quite simply be dumb luck.

I had someone text me about hacking. Told them i ran class photo on freddy to put the non sleep survivor into dreamland. This was before freddy rework.

If it’s a doc he could have restraint which shows the docs aura and his image actually tracks you by facing you as well so he could potentially see that and guess exactly where you’d be. I’ve gotten more than a couple messages accusing me of wall hacking and I explained all of the doctors add ons before just blocking messages entirely.

Eh, with the sheer number of aura-reading and location-revealing perks/powers in the game I never just assume wallhacks.
Rancor, Bitter Murmur, BBQ, Doc illusions, Spies from the Shadows, Retribution, Myers/Wraith/Pig addons, Feral Frenzy, others I can't remember offhand.

Same thing has been happening quite often with my SWF group. The killer will be equipped with absolutely NO tracking perks/ add-ons and still make a bee line for survivors completely out of sight.

just thought i'd chime in, just had a killer with no perks playing gunslinger with only reload speed addons and a pudding was able to find a survivor within seconds of starting, hooked and immediatly shot at a survivor behind cover out of sight, figured "great a sweaty killer" but things got suspisious when i saw the person being unable to loop him at all because he knew exactly where to turn around, again figured a sweaty killer but then the real point appeared.
as soon as he downed him he went into the next room and immediatly pulled a guy out of a locker, no noise, no running no nothing just straight to the correct locker (its the 4 locker line up) and proceeded to hook him, figured great this guy is defo sweaty or smurfing.
then the obvious thing clicked, i had already made my way to the other end of the map hoping to keep away and let him mop up (im running urban and distortion so no chilli attempts), right after he hooked the slug he went stright to my direction, no searching or attempts at checking gens he IMMEDIATELY went straight for me so much so he shot straight at my cover which im assuming he didn't think he'd hit because it was a box, so i did what any last ditch attempt solo survivor does, unhook as many people as i cant and hide.
nope the moment he re-hooked people he went straight on me again, so i unhooked again and body blocked in an attempt to maybe have them keep him busy, the moment he hooked me he was on the other player with no hessitation at all, didn't even look at scratches just ran the other path straight to their location.
didnt bother struggling, neither did the 2 other guys, i start watching and this guy was dauntlessly on his ass, no doubts about it at that point this guy had hacks on, even when he had balanced landing and dead hard the guy chased him exactly on his location running backwards with only small turn arounds to make sure he was still following, allowing the guy to bleed out and then he proceeded to "headbang" and shoot at him till end game took him.
end game stats show he had no perks, 2 reload addons and a pudding.
checked his steam profile and was defo tipped off at that point, guy has several achievements unlocked at the exact same time on the exact same minute that didnt make sense, most noticeably kill first survivor by own hand, sacrifice 25 survivors, sacrifice 1000 players and adept pyramid head.
all on the same day, same hour, same minute.

I've seen it before. Killer goes straight to each survivor right at the beginning of the match. It's pretty obvious when they have it because they have usually went straight to each survivor.
