White Ward offering broken

Just played a match and died to the hook. I had a White Ward offering and my item was consumed.
Am sadface now. :(
This is on PC
Not sure if the process is reproducible

Was the killer using Franklin's Demise? If you didnt have possession of your item at death, it will not be kept.
