So why cant you strave sideways vs deathslinger?
Really, I wonder why straving is practically impossible. Thats not how physics works.
If you have a straight force and apply a force sideways, you dont keep moving straight, yet this game, physics appearantly doesnt exist. I get that straving too much can be too strong, but on the other hand, you should be able to move more than 5cm left and right. What else is the point of a breakable chain, when you cant even strave sideways to try and get an object between you and the killer?
Or are there some secret techniques that are withold from the public to keep deathslinger popular enough to make people want to buy him? Because I would assume that perks like Boil Over should have an effect, yet in practice, this doesnt seem the case(yet).

The main reason is because the power would be too weak then.
The point of the breakable chain is that if you go for a shot that's unrealistic over a pallet or some other object (other than a window) you get punished with the chain break.
He's already a weaker Huntress, I don't think he needs it worst.

You can move sideways, but most Deathslingers have figured out by this point that if they both reel you in and move backwards, it significant increases the speed at which you move forward giving you very little time to move sideways and outpowering you physics-wise if you didn't get far enough behind something to avoid being pulled around the edge. In addition, most Deathslingers have also figured out when it would be a bad time to hook you because you would be able to escape and will wait to shoot till later so the situation where you could put something between you just doesn't arise very often.

The Entity messes up some details when she creates her trial worlds
Give her a break. She is trying really hard

If you shoot over a pallet, you can easily walk to the otherside and get the hit. So thats not really an argument there. My point was, that the killer range is 40 meters, which is outside his terror radius, already gives him the element of surprise. But that heavily implies there should be a bit of risk in shooting at max range. Which would be survivors straving.
And besides, it wouldnt make him too weak, it would just make people less eager to quickscope when there are objects close to the side. I'm not asking for a massive strave to the left or right, but 5 meters left or right straving would be good enough. That doesnt make his power too weak, because right now he is basically a huntress with a gap closer(which isnt a weaker huntress, gap-closers in this game are a very big deal which is why Legion cant down people while in feral frenzy)

I don't agree he is weaker than Huntress. Maybe for an unskilled killer. But Deathslingers who are great at a quick scope are nasty. I can dodge a hatchet. Its impossible to dodge a quick scope with current hit boxes.

Although its 18 meters (not exactly sure where you got 40 meters from lol) I guess a small strave could be fine, as long as it isn't anything major.

That's a fair point

You mean HE.
I only say this because the Entity has an obsession with Penetrating survivors. =]

Cus I've faced deathslingers who could harpoon me without triggering spinechill. Spinechill has a range of 36 meters, there are no addons that increase the harpoon range. That's why I roughly went for 40 meters.
I mean, either that or spinechill is glitched vs deathslinger.

What I do, aswell as many killers, if we assume someone has spinechill, which most players do (including myself) is look around constantly rather than just look straight at where you want to go.

That's the thing if you're aim is great as Deathslinger then it should be hard to play against him.
And you just can't complain about his hitboxes like huntress because his hitboxes are actually extremely precise.

Eh, a lot of people blame hitboxes. But its the latency. Basically whenever someone complains about hitboxes, just read latency instead. I've had killers hit me as if a pallet didnt exist because due to latency, on their screen, I was still vaulting, while on my screen, I was t-bagging to taunt the killer away from the person he was camping. Its especially bad when there are people from regions far away(coughcoughrussiacoughcough) and the devs refuse to add a region lock untill they fix latency issues.
I honestly wont mind increased waiting times if it prevents me from having bad games with russian killers who practically abuse the latency to always hit hatchets with a huntress even though I'm on the opposite side of the wall on my end.

Yeah, but he was SHOOTING ME. You cant really look away when you are shooting someone.

pegging is a thing tho, and Nea is the entity in human form, so we shall refer to her as she.

I don't think survivor hit boxes change from killer to killer? Perhaps I'm wrong about that. I would be interested in the info that confirms that they do, if you know something I do not.
But I'm not complaining at all. I don't think Deathslinger needs a nerf. I dont like him. People who are good at him have face rolled me. But it's kind of like playing against a good vs. bad nurse. There are A LOT of bad nurses in the world who are easy to juke. But good nurses will melt your face off. There are a lot of mediocre Deathslingers...it's the good ones you have to really look out for.

Maybe the perk or killer is bugged then? Usually I don't have problems, although I rarely face Deathslingers.

I don’t get how you can say that Deathslinger is dangerous with his quick scopes but also assume he needs to stare at you for a significant amount of time to hit you. He probably looking away, hears you, turn and quickscope...
Also, pretty obvious you never played as Deathslinger. Try hitting a survivor and then moving forward when you reel, it has the exact effect you want. The counter is (as mentioned) for Deathslinger to move backwards when he reels, restricting the survivors movements because of the increased reeling speed. If he couldn’t restrict the movement of survivors then they could literally grab anything and get a free break. By making Deathslinger pull backwards to restrict movement, you are also restricting his movement and giving an opportunity for another survivor to save you. If the Deathslinger could reel forward and still restrict you, then I promise, the strat wouldn’t be to walk backwards further away from our prey. You have much more strafing power when he gives you free reign on the spear (which is granted to you when he doesn’t pull back).
