You're lower rank, as an insult when you beat them LOL
So to me this is probably the dumbest of all end game insults. It happens from time to time as killer, I have even seen my own teammates do it when I play solo survivor. Just won (4k and almost double pip) a game as rank 8 killer against 4, 4, 8 and 13 and the end game the only one talking was one of the red ranks... did he accuse me of camping, NO... did he accuse me of tunneling, NO... his insult was "Mr purple rank don't even pretend to know what top play looks like."
So let me get this straight, your insult was calling me low rank, but you lost to me fair and square?

i only ever get it when its the other way around. Like if 4 rank 1-3's lose to a rank 12 killer who shouldnt even be there if not for this wonderful matchmaking system :)

It makes him feel better about himself to pretend he's better than you.
I've experienced the reverse a handful of times - I recently had a guy about ten ranks above me boast about beating me (a fourth-game Nurse) in post-game chat. Really says a lot about a person when they can take pride in that sort of thing. (He wasn't good either - tried to loop a Nurse like you would an M1 killer, and only got away with it because I was so hopeless at controlling her.)

If you get a message you did something to offend them.

I usually and always say
"Wow, I guess they're handing out Red Ranks to just anyone now huh."
Whenever they get pissed I out played them.

I’ve got to remind myself not to get upset when people start arguing illogically like this, but I cave eventually.

Lmao I deleted a few of my angry rant posts before following through with posting them about this exact scenario. I still pulled them from gens, judged distance like a scalpel a few times from across rocks and buildings, and hooked all 4 of them. For a really really really bad nurse (like 15 games total sporadically) I did pretty good. Especially against rank 1,4,4,9 lol

I once had a killer facecamp a guy who got farmed off hook, allegedly to teach the person who farmed them a lesson.

I'm happy not to be a red rank, I know my lane lol.

Yeah, it was pretty weird. I tried to explain that to him in postgame, but he just went, "it doesn't matter, I made my point". And it was like... but did you, though?

About a month ago, rank ten Spirit without headphones on the Game vs a 4 man swf with 4 commodious and Bnp. (this was before the toolbox nerf) They genrush to the end but two of them die at the egc because one decided to loop me on one of the pallets by the exit gates instead of just leaving. Afterwards, one of them messages me and says "There's a reason why you'll never reach red ranks."

There's also a reason a lot of these players should never breed.
The easy access of information and education via the internet should be making us collectively smarter, instead I see the opposite happening.

One stupid person is mostly harmless, but letting a bunch of stupid people congregate online? Now they're burning 5G towers because they "spread the coronavirus."

Don't listen to the post game lobby. People are just baiting you. Just a simple GG and move on. No reason to try and understand the mentality of people that play this game. It's like yesterday I had someone say oh you played really well clown! And of course another person had to make sure I didn't find any sense of pride and said, NO YOU DIDN'T! YOU'RE A ######### KILLER!
Barely anyone is genuinely going to be nice to the other side. But it's pretty easy to tell if they are or aren't. I have a few friends that play DBD on occasion and their sole reason for playing is so they can flame the killers at the end of the game. They find it fun. They say ridiculous things that don't make sense. And still the killers get super angry. I'm sure they're not the only ones that do the same thing.

Everytime someone even says "rank" I immediately assume the person must be new or bad at the game especially when it comes to DBD.

It's ridiculous to me how people even use rank as an insult in this game. I could be rank 1 on both sides, not play for a while, and then derank to lower than 10 or 15 and still get people insulting me for being low rank after the game, whether they win or lose. At that point I just know it's not somebody worth dealing with, because they don't have the mental fortitude to come up with something other than that.

I agree! The only time I speak of rank is when using myself as an example, I have reached rank 1 at survivor and now am basically "locked there," because after reset it doesn't take much to get back from 5 to 4. And I find if you are even mildly productive as survivor you at least Black PIP.
Killer is a bit different, but I am far from a "great killer," and I have still reached red ranks although just barely into 3-4 ranges before.
So I use myself as an example that Red Rank does not mean good, and you're right low rank doesn't mean bad it can mean hasn't played in a while, has only played the other side recently because of queue times maybe, or has just been goofing around.
