This forum is mainly a killer echo room, so you wont get much insight for your question.
There are a few robust survivor mains that make great arguments that tends to eat the killer mains alive, because all those killer sheep do is regurgitate tribalistic narrative talking points.
Pay attention to those posters, to see some healthy push back.

Because killers needed buffing in high ranks?
and it isn’t just killers who get what they want; other changes have been made to killer such as the ruin change which they didn’t want.

The short answer is, they don't.
Every time a new patch comes out that contains more buffs for one side than the other, people start complaining about a double standard that doesn't exist. If anything, the frequency of changes which inspire this kind of reaction in players on both sides would suggest that neither side is actually favoured over the other when it comes to balancing.

Oh, you're talking about this ONE patch that's going to make this game a bit more skill based rather than just mindlessly Hold W and dropping a pallet or two while 3 gens fly by?
Were you crying when Ruin got nerfed?
Did you make a thread saying "Please explain to me why survivors get their needs and killers don't?"

It's actually been the other way around, at least in patch 1.9.2. and previous patches. After 1.9.2. the Devs kinda chilled on all the survivor buffs, but they still nerfed killer metas and stripped away QOL's (freddy slowdown add-ons, Oni 180 flick, Ruin, Spirit, Nurse, etc.). They've also done the same recently with survivors though (which is surprising). However, the recent survivor nerfs were actually fair (unlike the aforementioned killer nerfs), like nerfing insta heals, removing broken loops, etc. Though I don't know what made them think losing add-ons every match was a good idea, that was straight up taking away a small but nice QOL.

Nah fam - the last year+ has been steady additions of mostly killer-centric patches.
But, to answer @ChosenPython46, it's because SWF exists within the survivor community and has had an advantage over killers. Though they may not be the majority of teams, it's enough to render Killers' games against them insufferable. So, adjustments that affect all survivors are being made to make the SWF/Killer dynamic much more balanced. Unfortunately it really causes solo survivors to start to feel like their matches are insufferable instead...but we'll have to see how/if/when that is addressed in a future update. They can only please so many people at once.

The last mid-chapter - and I'm saying this as someone who doesn't believe that there is an existing bias towards either side in general - was one of the most survivor-centric patches I have ever seen, at least in the way it was presented. I suspect this is a case of confirmation bias - you expect to see killer-favoured patches, and so you take note of the killer buffs and survivor nerfs more than you do the reverse.

I'm genuinely interested to know, how was any patch in the last 12 months significantly survivor sided?
And I wouldn't say that I think any of the patches are done because BHVR devs just like survivors or killers more. I'm more of the opinion that changes that are happening are necessary for killers, but have been to the detriment of solo survivors - who are unfortunately just lumped in right alongside SWF without any of the luxuries that make SWF so strong and are the reasons for the changes being made.

I didn't say any patches were significantly survivor-sided, except the last mid-chapter, which as I identified was mainly survivor-sided in its presentation rather than its content. I think that the patches on the whole tend to be quite balanced when looked at objectively.
Your perspective seems like a reasonable one, although I can't think of any recent changes that negatively affected solo survivors in the way you're describing. From everything I've observed, the devs are very careful about not doing that, and pretty much every change they make, they implement only after asking themselves, "will this widen the gap between SWF and solo players?" and making sure that the answer is "no".

Seriously?!? Kindred buff was to give solo survivors swf level info when you or other survivors are on the hook so, you know everyone doesn't leave their gen to go to the hook. Although you have to actually give up ds or adrenaline or dead hard, ECT to run the perk. You should try it. I run it when I solo que as Dweet

Right now as i am typing this. On these very forums is a thread called this game is becoming to killer oriented. I think you left out there are also individuals on the survivor side who do whiny as well, as you put it.

The ruin nerf was one of the most significant balance changes in the history of DBD. It surely didn't benefit killers. The devs had to even try to convince the playerbase that losing 2-3 gens at the start of the match was ok and they had to totally readjust their point system for gatekeeping.
From a purely objective point of view, this game is still insanely survivor sided, at higher levels of play. The devs even alluded to this also in stating that they generally try to balance towards the majority of players, who sit between rank 20 and 10. If you know anything about this game, you'll know that between rank 20 and 10 killers are quite strong, but that's due to the inexperience of the survivors. When survivors start to learn the game, they become almost as strong as the killer, and considering there's 4 of them, that's a glaring problem.

After looking at the stats released by BHVR regarding red rank killers, they win 75% of their games on average, with any killer. There’s no way killers can get 3-4Ks in 75% of their games at red ranks and then say killers need a buff in red ranks.
I was thinking killers were under powered until I saw the stats.

this is not a killer buff,is merely a balance since surivors had some many advantages over killers and still don after the patch.
