Always Tunneled When Using Bloody Party Streamers

Terra92
Terra92 Member Posts: 583

I had a game the other day where both I and the killer offered up a BPS each. The killer decided to tunnel me and make sure I got nothing out of it.

I dunno, it just feels like a waste. I know I'm the billionth post to complain about killers tunneling but it just feels terrible to know someone doesn't want you to play the game, because that's basically what tunneling does. It makes you stare at a loading screen for a minute and then get tunneled for the next 3 while your rescuers get completely ignored. Throwing BPS into the mix is just insult to injury.

I'd be like if I drove around a block a few times looking for a parking spot, finally found one after someone left, go to put my coins in the meter, and a cop comes by with a tow truck behind him, hands me a ticket, tows my car, and then the police parks in my spot.

Ya just feel robbed of any experience.

Yup. It's a cursed item if you ask me. I just had a game the other day where I brought one and had my team mates flocking over me trying to heal me the second I got downed, instead of waiting to let me recover. Also farming me off hook.

As a result, I had my bleedout bar go down to less than half I believe, just to be hooked all 3 times at the very start and only earn 3k bloodpoints out of my game from my party streamers.

I've since decided that I'm literally just going to avoid them on survivor at the bare minimum. At least maybe if I bring them as killer I can treat it like a survivor pudding, and I won't have another killer/troll team mates ending my games early.

When I play BPS I sneak around and don't work on a gen until the killer is already chasing a survivor far away from me. That way I can guarantee I get SOME value out of it. Use perks like Bond or Empathy, Urban Evasion and Spine Chill.

I think I'll only save them for when I run with a friend. Because then if I still get tunneled, I can still give them a nice chunk of bonus points to enjoy.

Because its all about killer fun, not yours. Don’t use BPS unless you have a swf

running BPS means to me a SWF that means i shut them down by camping them hard/tunneling

And I'm always gen rushed by the most sweatiest of sweaty survivors. It's a cursed item that brings out the absolute worst in people.

I've had matches where our group brought 4 BPS and had killers proceed to tunnel. Their excuse was "Bringing BPS does not entitle you to free Blood Points", which I get... if you don't want to farm, it's fine. But at least give people a chance to earn something from it.

When i'm seeing survivors bringing BPS i avoid any tunelling or camping, trying to play so we all get points, but if we bring BPS and 3 gens get done very fast i'm like, now which one of you wants to go out first?

I been in many random games, where people will just throw on a blood party steamer, just to be nice or going hey anyone have x? To try and get some extra blood points from the match. That and wouldn't face camping, if the other survivors are aware of what you are doing, kind of go against the point of blood party steamers, to give everyone more blood points? By denying yourself possibly a fair amount of blood points by simply face camping one survivor the whole game, rather than getting hits, chases or using your ability? Someone else throw up the item and even if you do poorly in the game by playing it normally, you are still benefiting from the offering someone else made.

Yeah, I always wonder how survivors get tunneled for using offerings when nobody can see who used which offering.

    Tunneled or just chased?

Some killers go super sweaty when they see a bps, as if it triggers something in their head that tells them "now, I HAVE TO get a 4k!". If you're lucky enough to get matched against me, I do the opposite. I two-hook everyone and when I maxed out brutality, haunting and deviousness, I let them escape. It usually results in 5 happy people leaving the trial with a ton of points. Win/win, if you ask me.

All games I use an escape cake I'm the first survivor being hooked lol. But in the end I get my BPs no problem. Killers in red ranks seldom tunnel or camp, and if they do it's no problem they can play how they want just like I play how I want as killer and survivor.

Yeah, players who play killer often see BPS and think only of themselves. I only bring BPS if I am playing with at least one other friend. I never bring them for random teams.

More survivors especially at purple ranks do this which makes sense, it is nice to see survivors use a bit of stealth at least to start with rather than racing to the killer with a flashlight

Made no sense, had to re-read that to understand and still didn't work. Make any excuse to tunnel ig.

Well, if you burn it as survivor then killer doesn't know who burned it. Whenever I do burn it as killer survivors usually focus gens more(for some reason).

I had a ridiculous game few days back. 4 man swf decided to burn offerings like bps and such while expecting killer to farm with them. I didn't get the memo(I usually don't even have game on any screen until it loads in) and survivor decided to not try to play normally but sacrifice themselves.

Of course I got a lot of ######### for it... but why? What is wrong with playing the game normally?

Like others, I question the logic here, since it seems to me you benefit just as much from double points, which I would think provides an incentive to do the exact opposite of shut them down and instead drag the game out.

I might understand if we were talking the green envelope, since the Killer gets no benefit from it, but we aren't.

Yeah I've also seen that, too. Killer or survivor offers up bps and my team is gen rushing like mad. I just sit there going "okay so you guys are gonna get like 8k for rushing and then what, get 16k points at the end? Why not try for the full 32?"

If you don't like high risk/high reward strategies, then your best bet is to make sure that your team never uses more than one BPS per match to make sure that one bad match isn't going to ruin it for you.

Spreading the Party Streamers across multiple matches means that you're also spreading the risk and your returns (bloodpoint gains) are going to be more averaged out (outliers will be less dramatic to the total result).

Hmm. I did this a few days ago, but in my defense, ¹I forgot about the streamers, ²Rarely farm when there's no DCs, ³The guy kept going back to the same totem and wouldn't run away when I approached and ⁴Apparently he had a crow flying around meaning he was standing still enough to warrant a crow. Am I a dingus for killing him quickly? Probably, but I can't take back what happened.

Killers aren't allowed to play normally. They must adhere to the Survivor Rulebook. I lost mine in a tragic fire after Old Freddy went berserk with 4k bp and no downs.

You're missing the point here.. a survivor bringing a BPS or multiple is a gift to the killer. You would thing one would have some common decency to not be selfish and tunnel people out of the game.

True, but they know that it will be a +200% BP game, so why ruin anyones game by tunneling?

My 4 man squad just stopped bringing them. At the start of the event we changed our names to 4XBPS and started bringing them. Half a day later we said ######### it.

Bubba insadown letting us bleed out only to say after game, "thnx for the BPS, it really helped make up for the bad game you guys had". This happen 8 times and we said ######### it no more BPS. I'm approaching 60 on Claudette and they're just going to sit there forever.

I do indeed get the point. I've been there too (many times). There are people that just don't care, and there always will be. There's nothing you can do to change the way the killer plays the game. The only thing that you can do, is change the way you do play it.

A lot of killers are actually quite reasonable (I know, hard to believe if you just only look at this forum/echo chamber), so just don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Funfact: during all the time playing DBD, I've only encountered a couple of survivors and just one killer (yes, just one) actually thanking me for bringing a BPS (unless we farmed). I usually thank people when they bring a BPS or a Gruesome Gateau, except if there's really a strong reason not to do so.

It really is weird how the first player sacrificed seems to be the one with the bloody party streamer offering. I swear to god I would show more mercy for a survivor if I knew they were the one that brought a streamer. But alas, there is no way for the killer to know which survivor brought which offering until the end of the match. Don't take it personal.

  • Carpemortum

Easy solution: stop burning party streamers.

    Ghostwithaface Member Posts: 594

Yeah i don't think anyone can blame you. Since all you are doing is playing the game as normal. Sometimes hey that just the roll of the dice, you bring a boost point boosting item and things simply don't turn out very well in the match and only get a handful of points.
