Are the Devs going to do anything about the VPNing killers?
Nearly every game now is somebody from the EU or China connecting to US servers to take advantage of their high ping.
They're hitting though pallets, windows, and sometimes from a good twenty feet away.

Except they've come out and said they're okay with that lol. Nice attempt at trolling, though

Teamwork is fine. Exploiting a broken, non-authoritative, dedicated server isn't.

They don't actually have an option except to be OK with it.

Poor bait

Actually cheating Vs communicating with your friends in a... team game... any excuse to make you feel better about cheating my guy.
8 -
I don't understand why you directed this post specifically at killers when using a vpn for a ping advantage can be applied to both sides.
2 -
Because only killers cheat duh
1 -
No. It always gives priority to the killer. if the survivor lags, the killer can hit him earlier. If the killer lags, he sees the survivor where he isn't and the hit registers
2 -
They can do more about VPNs, they just haven't taken the step to change their dedicated servers to be authoritative.
1 -
They cannot really do anything about it so they do not have a choice but I will say this. Kindred does what comms can do at a price you have to be hooked. Object of obsession shows locations as well at the price of revealing team.
So why try to justify the free perk of telling each other where the killer is going when there is no downside to it? Its clearly an exploit if u can't already tell by reading the perks and how it has something to balance it out. But go ahead survivor main. Be oblivious to the fact that while the killer chases me I'm telling my team to rush gens while I stall and loop the ######### outta him/her with 0 repercussions

this has nothing to do with anything intentional from the killer side, dont make a new account to share this stupidity.

People that create smurf accounts on forums or on Steam etc. literally have no life at all.
1 -
There's a difference though.. with Discord, they can't do anything about it. But with a VPN, your steam profile still shows where you're from and it should be bannable.
2 -
When have they come out and said using a VPN to by-pass region locks is acceptable?

Because the dedicated servers are killer sided and start from their point of view. If you're playing killer and a survivor is directly in front of you, there's a 99% chance that's their actual location. But if you're a survivor, the killer is never where you actually think they are. They're closer than they appear.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should... or that it's the right thing to do.
It's more trollish to call someone out as a troll for simply voicing an opinion. I'm pretty sure insulting people is against the TOS, but why go there? The rest of your comment was valid, at least.

"In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, speed or level design etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers."
As they've said before, they have 0 problem with it. So it is intended to be something you can do. What would be the point of SWF and playing the game with your friends if you actually couldn't talk to them?
Talking with friends and playing the game with them isn't an exploit, no matter how much you want it to be.

Nah.

I didn't say that.

Killers just need to get good and they can overcome swf. It's being done all day, every day. Not everybody is good at killer, though

dodge what I say with get good. I have not seen that before. Not like it matters. Devs clearly are upping gen times and removing broken loops shows something was up.

In this particular case, it would make far more sense if the killer role was played like an NPC by trusted players who were given knowledge of the map and current circumstances. It doesn't work out quite so well in a 1v4 situation where unlimited, cross-map coordination places the 4 in a superior position.
I understand the developers said it's okay. That's why nothing will be done about it. That still doesn't make the game any more fun from the killer perspective. The killer perspective needs to be fun or else there will be few to no killers and, therefore, no game. Unless, as I began with, they make the killer position an NPC and this game is redesigned to focus on solely on the survivors.
I'm honestly not even concerned so much about the communication as I am about the ability to dominate the game with it, significantly devaluing the role of the killer.
Edit: I don't want it to play this way. I am describing a circumstance where unlimited voice communication between survivors could make sense.

Having killer be a niche role that very few people are good at playing is unsustainable. That's not trolling. It's a fact. It's an off-topic fact, but a fact none-the-less.
Edit: To clarify, the real issue seems to be that not all killers are made equal as they are for survivors. There is a significant gap between which killers are viable and which are not.
