Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

The Hardest Survivor Tip

Sometimes you have to leave an almost completed generator and let it regress fully.

If a Killer is aware that a generator is very close to finishing, they'll heavily patrol it. Sometimes it's just not worth giving the Killer free hits, downs and easy pops. If you win a chase or get unhooked, don't go back to the scene of the crime even if the generator is 75%. It won't end well.

It sorta depends on how good your teammates are. If they're smart, they'll lead him away and last long enough for you to finish it. If they're evenly slightly decent, the time it takes for them to go down, get hooked, and for the killer to run back should be enough to get that last 30% or so.

If they're not, yeah, it's probably best to just move on to a different one. A lot of people focus way too much on that one gen and neglect all the others. It's free real estate.

As a killer main, splitting pressure by working on all 3 of the final gens is a much better solution than trying to brute force 1. I can't tell you how many times I've had a group of survivors that played very well the whole match, but refused to split pressure in the endgame. It usually ends in a 3+k.

Anytime I see a group splitting pressure and I'm not playing a high mobility killer, I basically have to focus on downing someone and hope I can turn a 1k into more kills in the endgame.

I can't tell you how many times I was working on a 90% gen with someone else and they run away because of the Killer. If people would commit to a gen instead of running away you'd see a lot more successful survivor games.

Peanits is 100% correct. The minute I see someone sacrifice themselves so the team can get a gen done, I'll do everything I can to make sure they escape. Even if that means getting myself killed in the process.

It's all about being a good team. You don't need comms for that, just an ability to understand whatever situation you're in.

Very often being not so hellbend on a gen is the way to go.

Heck often survivors will tank hits just because they fear the Pop wielding killer so much and want to get the gen done.

While in reality, a killer often feels that once the gen is popped then can leave it comfortably and focus on something else, that is your chance to jump on it and finish it with relatively little risk

    Doesnt make much sense.

If the Killer tries to pressure that one gen, he's shooting himself in the foot by leaving all the others completely open for repairs. Realizing you should just migrate to a different gen for an almost free repair shouldn't be a hard piece of advice to understand; that's basic game sense.

I think the most important rule for survivor is learn to cut your losses. If the gates are open, the killer has 1 person on the hook and they aren't going anywhere. In that instance sometimes it's better to let them have that 1k then letting them get 2-4k for trying to save them.,

I have said out loud to my friends while playing "I will die for this gen." I know it's not a good strategy, but that's MY gen. I will finish it. ]<

But I also have the game sense to know that what I'm doing is the stupid choice. It would be smarter to find another gen, and if I /really/ can't get my stubborn ass back on the one I want to, I'll go do another. I've gotten a full gen done that way before. But mostly I'm just stubborn and want the satisfaction of popping that one gen the killer clearly doesn't want me finishing.
