Honestly a few tweaks and buffs to killer perks to make them slightly more useful than they are as it stands right now would be great.
Not all perks should be meta, yes, but it’s a bit annoying when killers HAVE to run certain perks to counter survivor perks, and the same on the survivors end. It’s just perpetuating this cycle that just hasn’t changed, so it would be nice to get something new to the meta instead of seeing the same stuff, different killer.
Survivor does have their second chances, killers don’t due to how the game is structured. Spirit Fury and Enduring is easily countered by dropping the pallet early, BBQ and Chilli can be countered by going in a locker, Nurses can be countered by Nurses or just healing by a pallet and having decent map awareness.
I think one of the bigger issues is the lack of different play styles on the survivor side, there’s not a whole lot you can do when an aggressive play style not only nets more points, but is required for pipping.
So, what am I getting at?
The meta is what’s causing most of these issues- it’s keeping the same cycle of survivors needing to run perks to have fun, and killers needing to run perks to have fun; which is deriving off of the current issue with killer map pressure, and how survivor is played. Overall I want to see tweaks to killers to make them more viable in terms of base map pressure, and survivors wanting to counter said meta, developing the meta for the survivor side.
To the devs credit, maintaining ability uniqueness any be more difficult on hand than on paper, however, I totally understand where this thread is coming from. I think changes need to happen to refresh the gameplay cycle would make the game more diverse, and once killer issues are handled, the survivor issues can then be handled.
Not to say that the game shouldn’t be an easy for 4K or win for survivors, but the gap should be a little more close than where it’s at now considering how stressful killer can be compared to the survivor stress (or so I’m told, I panic when I get chased sometimes LOL).

Bad players found meta killers unfun to go against and thus demanded nerfs so they could make killers move on to weaker killers so they could stand a chance. Survivors can never bring up a logical debate as to why killer nerfs are necessary, it's all based on entitled attitudes and selfish feelings.

Enduring/Spirit Fury eats two perk slots to occasionally skip a pallet. You know, until survivors start pulling the pallets a bit earlier or start using Jungle Gyms. It eats 2 perks and is quite counter able.
Remember me is... Pretty bad now. You have to build it up for, what, at most 16 seconds? Maybe. When it could be built to 30, it was ok, but only 16 seconds in endgame only, and having to have been 3 perks most of the match? At least Ruin would buy time early game.
And Blood Warden isn't really a second chance, as you have to actually earn it for what, a minute? But if you're not running a one shot and they're healthy, it becomes much less useful.
While DS is mostly fine imo tbh, my one issue is if you get in a locker, there's no countering it beyond a stare-off. I can deal with the tunnel punishment" when you down and hook someone fast then happen to find them, but at least that you could slug for a few.
Borrowed Time was pretty fine imo, but then they tied it into Deep Wounds and it turned from a delayed hit to essentially just a free hit. Deep Wounds in and of itself is kinda just a poorly designed mechanic imo.
Dead Hard is annoying at times yes, but it's also counter able. You can bait it. You can keep up with the dash if close enough. Sure, it's strong in extending loops, but really it also rewards survivors for being a bit greedy and can influence them into bad plays without it.

Meta strats are unfun to play/play against in almost any game. That's why games are usually fun as a noob and suck at higher skill ranks. I usually don't take games seriously unless the meta game is fun hence I don't take DBD seriously. If you do that then you'll have a better experience with games 😁

Idk where you saw OP in there. What I'm saying is more that Deep Wounds as a mechanic sucks.
Unless you're reading me saying getting essentially a free hit is really good is saying it's OP? but because of the mess that is Legion, and their decision to tie a survivor perk and a killer power together is a mess, as it dooms the effect to utter mediocrity. If it's too survivor sided, Legion become trash as BT becomes amazing. If it's too killer sided, Legion becomes godlike while BT will suffer heavilly. They should really rework Deep Wounds into a survivor effect tied to endurance and fully change Legion imo.

Having a mechanic that's supposed to be tied to something positive for both sides in an adymetrical makes it really hard to get it balanced AND feeling good. I think it really would benefit if they completely reworked Legion and then made Deep Wounds something specifically for survivors.

Decisive shouldn't hurt you unless you tunneled. Borrowed time it only effects you if you were camping or proximity camping. If you don't like borrowed time you could use insidious to camp without a heart beat or use a stealthy killer . Dead hard just bait them for it, I flick my stick up fast and they dead hard lol.

In your opinion, if the killer goes for another player, and a player with an active ds bodyblocks the killer and gets downed, is that tunneling or not? Because i see ds and borrowed time used a lot this way. Also, is it camping if you have a survivor near the hook that loops you around the hook, because that also happens a lot.

Ten bucks says you are a camper. They did nerf DS. You have to be hooked for it to work now.
Dead Hard complaint tells me you are a tunneler and mad that survivors figured out a way to annoy you as much as you annoy them.
Borrowed Time complaint means you aren’t all that great at hooking survivors in the first place.

he is running to you, and blocks you and prevents you from getting the unhooker. Then you hit him, because you have nothing to lose, and then you know he has borrowed time, or ds. But you didnt answer the question. Is thos tunneling and camping in your opinion, because in mine, its not. Thus, your statement is wrong, because these perks hurt you without you doing these things because survivors use those perks in a very active way against you.

2 chase perks, 2 stall perks. None are second chances. Remember Me is just a bad perk in general, but Blood Warden + NoeD is a good second chance.
I'm assuming what people mean by a second chance perk is literally just getting a free. Similar to how DS, DH, and Adrenaline work. Arguably only NoeD and Rancor are like that on the killer side.

If that's what you think about DH, you're using it wrong. Borrowed time is mostly fine, it's just dumb that it counts as a safe unhook.
This is a tangent, but it shouldn't count as one, and safe unhooks should be rewarded differently, with say 200bp for the unhook and the rest of the 1300 points when the safe procs. This'll help farming too.

The only time I tunnel is when a surv tries to do some bullshit like locker DS me. That's some trashy bs, and is why people want ds to be changed.

If you want to be able to hand pick your opponents resources....go play a game with bots. Otherwise learn to get over the fact that players are going to play what they want when it comes to perks.

Dead Hard is an exhaustion perk. I wouldn't consider it a second chance perk and Sprint Burst usually gives you more time in a chase because Dead Hard is so buggy.
Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time is for killers that tunnel. Yeah, it sucks that they get a second chance but it sucks worse for a survivor who gets tunneled to death. Just don't tunnel and you easily counter both of those perks. The Devs aren't going to change those 2 perks because it promotes good game play.

I never ran decisive or unbreakable until I started dealing with killers who would slug and tunnel. It disappointed me so much, and when killers know that nobody has decisive when there's no obsession they tunnel even more lol

I play as fairly as I can, but if someone unhooks close to me and I'm not in a chase, I'm going to the unhook location. If you're there and no one else is what am I supposed to do? The other guy got away so you had time to as well.
When something like that happens there's a decent chance that your being re-hooked is your teammates fault; they should have tried to take aggro.

It surprises me that so many killers whine about Dead Hard. It doesn't work like 30% of the time...maybe more. LOL
DS is necessary - and is not solely an anti-tunnel perk. So it doesn't matter if you're tunneling or not. Its functionality is what it is, and it works exactly as it's supposed to. It can also be avoided a number of ways.
BT is necessary because camping is a go-to for Killers, regardless of rank. I don't know how BT could afford someone to be "cocky" at a hook. The off-hooker usually takes a hit to get the off-hook, if the killer is truly camping, and at best the off-hooked person will take the second hit to ensure the off-hooker doesn't end up being a hook trade. I don't really see a lot of time in there for anyone to do something terribly "cocky".
While I understand you don't like them - there are many perks survivors don't like and they are here for the long haul. All of these perks are fine, and necessary parts of the game.

I agree yesterday i went up against a lot of them and im a level 19 Freddie so i dident even get one i hooked but i cept getting bullied trying to punish them and seeing as i only have 2 perks i dont have the best chance not to mention it took like 10 minutes to find a server.

now that one of the best kiler gen slowdown was nerfed aka hex ruined devs should really do something about all the survivors second chance perks,they are so crutch and when stacked together they become even more broken.
