Is Deathslinger easier to play than Huntress?

I've only bought four killers and I want to try deathslinger but I'm not sure if it's worth it. I've tried many times to play huntress but she's just not for me.

I don't have the best aim plus I'm on PS4 so it's harder land shots. Then there's the fact that she's slow and is constantly humming so all the survivors know I'm nearby and run off and hide. Depending on the map I'll waste alot of time just looking for people.

I've skipped a bunch of killers that don't interest me so I'm saving my shards for any perks in the shrine that I want (That grind is almost over). I do however have just enough auric cells left over from the first rift pass to buy him.

He's way easier because of the fact that he aims in; just my take, I believe he's also one of the most fun to play

I could never really get the hang of Huntress but Deathslinger I started getting kills after only like 5 games. He has an actual crosshair and no windup which are definitely major pluses.

As soon as I figured out how to actually use his harpoon correctly (sadly, I had to google it mid match because I kept letting people go 🤣) he was very easy to hit people. I would definitely say it was easier than Huntress's hatchet throws, which are easier to dodge and require more accurate movement prediction by the killer - in addition to having to break chase to reload.

Not for me. He has no map pressure; huntress has bigger fow since she doesn't ads and with huntress you at least get 5 hatchets, so there is more room for error. His spear seems to be travelling slower then the hatchet. You can down multiple people a lot easier with huntress

Okay so i own every killer and am always rank 1 and this is what ill say so i hope this can help.

Death slinger is easier to both play and learn, what i mean by this is after a game or two youll get the understanding of how to play him and the more you play him the easier and better you shall be. youll learn what angles to shoot, quick scoping will be no issue and you will have fun with him. however do note that your experience as a killer and the overall control of you camera etc. will determine how easily you adjust.

However he is not stronger than huntress, while i personally enjoy playing him and he is all round easier to play he isnt as strong. what this mean is if youre a really good huntress you wont do as well with this killer just because hes not as strong, he is also 110speed which means map pressure can be an issue (the 3.7.0 patch will slightly help) but he can still cut loops etc. short if you have a good aim.

all in all its up to you, i love the look, style and everything of him and im happy to play him at any point but i wouldnt call him a very strong killer compared to the faster moving killers, i personally dont think huntress is all that strong either but like most killers he has good and bad points but certainly an interesting killer

No. As Huntress the only thing you have to learn are the different ways you can get hits with her hatchets (so the hitbox of the hatchets, the hitboxes of terrain, when it's best to prepare and take a throw, etc.). With Deathslinger you have to learn all of this, but you also have to learn how to properly reel survivors in and the limitations of it. Sure you can hit that shot on the survivor about as they vault the shack window from 15m away, but can you get the follow up hit? Probably not. That's the main thing distinguishing Huntress from Slinger. You aren't guaranteed a down even if you hit a good shot

his projectile doesn't clip an object with a radius of 9 miles like the hatchets.. so he's already better for that alone. ADS is always better than .. no ADS. No wandering to the edges of space to find a locker.

In those respects, he's easier. In terms of actually "winning", nope.

easier yes better no. Start off with him then switch to huntress when you feel a bit more confident in aiming. Or just play huntress from the get-go. Up to you but don't be afraid of learning huntress cause she is very rewarding once you have the hang of her

The speargun travels at the same speed as a fully charged hatchet, so if anything it's faster, but the visual feedback of his spear isn't as big or pronounced as a hatchet.

Absolutely not. Huntress has 5 quick chances to down someone with much larger and wonky hitboxes that is harder for survivor to counterplay. Deathslinger has 1 chance with much smaller hitboxes to only inflict damage, slow reload each time, survivor has already broke LOS and possibly half way across the map.

I imagine that he is better when playing against less skilled survivors, but against more skilled survivors he is not very good. His aimed shot is slow and doesn't even wound. You have to reel them in to get the actual wound. If the shot itself wounded and the reel in and hit was an insta-down it might be better. Reloading is slow and he, reeling players in is slow (and often futile), and he is,just overall, slow. It's fairly easy to break his chain, especially against SWF groups. Huntress may take more skill to hit, but when she hits, it makes much more of a difference, and she doesn't have all of the slow downs that he has.

    i think thats debatable.

he certainly plays very different to Huntress, considering he just quickscopes survivors, while Huntress actually has to aim with the hatchet, due to the long windup time.

so while he gives very little time to react, huntress allows survivors to try and dodge her shot.

and she can go for long range attacks. he is limited to 18m.

if you are someone who can quickscope effectively id say he is probaply gonna be stronger, though if you are good at aiming and then shooting, also over long distances, she is taking the cake.

It really depends. If you're good at FPS games and are able to quck-scope with decent accuracy, then Deathlslinger is amazing. You'll be able to end chases supper quickly. Whether he's easier or not depends on how good your aim is. If you have great aim, he's super easy. If your aim is terrible, then you're probably not going to have a good time playing him.

Yes and no. The hitbox is laughably smaller than Huntresses, but if you can hit them, you'll be good with him. However, there are times where you make impressive shots but don't get any reward because, unlike Huntress, you are not rewarded for doing that.

I like them both pretty much and equally. The most satisfying thing for me is when landing a quick scope, it feels nice. With Huntress it's landing a far hatchet or a clean hatchet which goes between objects right onto the Survivor.

One has a very forgiving hitbox and is more rewarding for pulling of impressive shots. The other has a very precise hitbox and isn't as rewarding for hitting impressive shots. I think it's obvious which one is harder to play...
