What if NoED spawned the exit gates the furthest from each other?
Yeah, I know. People don't want NoED to change. But I think this change would be fair:
Hex: No One Escapes Death
A Hex rooting its power on hope. You are animated by the power of your Hex Totem when the Survivors are on the verge of escaping.
Once the Exit Gates
are powered, if there is a Dull Totem remaining on the Map, this Hex is applied to it.
While Hex: No One Escapes Death is active, Survivors suffer from the Exposed
Status Effect and your Movement speed is increased by 2/3/4 %.
The Exit Gates will spawn the furthest possible distance from each other
The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem
is standing.
The only change would be that the exit gates would always spawn the furthest possible distance from each other. This prevents them from spawning close together. I don't think this would weaken NoED too much, but would also make it harder for killers to simply camp a kill, then get a 4K because the exit gates spawned next to each other. But I'm sure there are some issues I haven't forseen.

Gates spawn when game begins
7 -
Yes, and perks are chosen before the game begins.

what if people stopped complaining about noed when there's so many ways to deal with it
11 -
honestly its atleast a small change without affecting the power of the totem I'd be behind it.

Honestly just remove the speed buff from NoeD and it will be fine.

Noed should be by time, I mean, yes is easy to clean totems but sometimes the killer just slugg or hook the surv next to the hex and u can't do anything. If noed works again by limit time the killer is force to move and search survs. I personally always break all totems at first but lot of people just ruuuush and noed comes

Here's a thought.
What if people cleansed totems!?
I know right, it's a scary thought!
9 -
Noed only activates when the gens are powered. You get nothing from it when game starts.

Not another No Ones Even Dead yet crutch post!
4 -
That'd suck on Azarov's Resting Place.

Yikes. Makes me shudder thinking about it.
That or Mother's Dwelling.

The whole point of playing Survivor is to struggle and persevere against a powerful Killer. Stop asking for the game to be made easier.

It would’t change people complaining about it. Thus it’s a pointless nerf. This perk is already fair enough. Just leave it alone for hell’s sake.

If you weaken or do anything to noed totems not lit up would be pointless to do. I do every totem I come across for points and to stop noed and I never get hit by it anymore I even look around gens that are done cause I know teammates don’t always do them. I keep count and count of broken bones I see around. If you messed with noed at all I guarantee things like ds bt and adrenaline would be hit by a nerf as a result to the point where adrenaline would completely change and bt and ds would be useless at end game. If they nerf what is an easy counter killer skill for end game the will nerf every survivor perk that could help at end game to adjust. I don’t use any of them so wouldn’t affect me.

NOED already has a counter, it's called cleansing bones. Everytime I see NOED pop up I always say it's my fault for not doing bones, not the killer's fault for bringing a powerful endgame perk.

Right, then there will be a ton of survivor perks that killers think should be modified in a similar way.
Seriously, what is the point, to make the game as effortless as possible? It takes something like 15 seconds to cleanse a totem, and you get decent BP for it. It you are too lazy to cleanse totems, then deal with NOED. It's your choice.

So you think a perk that needs absolutely no input and comes up as a game changer in late game is a good thing? ROFL

It requires the Killer to play with 3 perks for 95% of the match. If the Killer was good and dominated throughout the match, NoEd wouldn't matter. If the Killer was bad then the Survivors shouldn't have had any trouble looping the Bad Killer while their teammates cleansed totems and repaired generators. If you or your team couldn't do anything against Bad Killers, that just makes you all just as bad.
NoEd has an easy counter. Survivors who complain about it just don't want to give up a perk slot to counter it. Either that or are just too lazy do cleanse totems.

Do bones. you get 1k BP per bone, get a free heal with Inner Strength, and remove NOED. Instead of whining about NOED, try and get BHVR to implement a totem counter so solo bones aren't so unbearable
1 -
I think giving solos a totem counter would be enough. So the counterplay would be available for solos too.
0 -
lol, never mind. dont think this is worth discussing if you think so.
0 -
Why so? NoeD has a counter and it forces the killer to use 3 perks rather than 4.
So I myself would like to know how that isn't a big enough trade off for the power NoeD has.

If the Killer couldn't catch the survivors without NOED, they probably wouldn't catch them with it. Personally, I'd be fine if they removed the speed boost aspect, since people mainly use it for the instadown.
0 -
I could agree with this if they had a totem counter in game since solos have no way to tell each other how many totems they've done.
0 -
You're not supposed to know. There needs to be some uncertainty since destroying a totem completely removes a killers perk. You can always wait till gens are finished if counting is too difficult and then just cleanse the lit totem. Not everything in the game needs to be dumbed-down.

There's a difference between perk balance and power level. Having a perk be much stronger than the rest just means that it will be used more and will stale the experience. If you really care about the survivor experience, you would accept and criticize perk balance change suggestions fairly.

So you want solos to be separated even further from swf? May I ask why?
0 -
Sure it would. You have someone sit at last dull totem, noed pops, surv gets totem. Now killer has no perk AND gate are guaranteed opposite ends. The only way this works in a balanced manner is if noed is permanent once activated so that you either blow all totems and skip noed AND the guaranteed furthest doors, or you guarantee the doors at the cost of guaranteeing noed.

Just do bones
0 -
just remove noed so they can stop whining about survivors swear doing gens is so boring but if you ask them to do anything besides gens (totems and or asking devs to add a second or third objective) they will scream bloody murder
0 -
NOED is fine as it is. It's absurdly common but people don't want to do anything about it, get killed by it and just complain instead.
0 -
Agreed. If you want to complain about NOED, try countering it first. Same goes for DS 😁

Let me guess.. "Do totems?".. The problem is, unless solo queue players bring a map or detectives hunch, they have no way of indicating if all 5 totems were cleansed. Because of this, now you have 4 players all looking for 5 totems, that "may or may not exist" instead of doing their objective.. Meanwhile the killer gets to steamroll everyone.
1 -
Again.. How are solo queue survivors supposed to know how many totems have been cleansed? Are they supposed to all stop and look for 5 totems that may or may not exist because another survivor already cleansed it?
0 -
I play solo?
If you are that worried about totems i suggest using Detectives Hunch or small game.
0 -
You're missing the point.. a solo queue survivor shouldn't be forced to run a detection perk just because a killer may or may not have brought an overpowered 2nd chance perk
0 -
Go check the totem spawns if you're unsure.
Dont engage in a chase if you're unsure.
Heck dont run if you think the killer might see the scratches.
0 -
I mean I would not be against it, but...its a indicator early on in the game if NoeD is even in play.
The entire point of NoeD, more then anything, is to be a slowdown perk.
If survivors can see the exit gates are close together, ez, no need to cleanse totems, GEN RUSH
0 -
They should just remove all the second chance perk so people will stop complaining about them jajajaja
0 -
I'm not forced to run anything, i choose to run it since it allows me to see totems, which also goes hand in hand with inner strength. Even when i don't run detectives; i'm always looking out and keeping track of totems i spot when doing gens or in a chase. I really don't see the problem.
Don't even get me started on overpowered perks... Survivors have more overpowered perks than killers do period.

Geez the responses in this thread are gross. Guy had an idea people need to chill.
I think it would be a good idea for the sole reason it adds a tell to NOED that astute survivors can spot and realize the killer has NOED. I mean, the whole point of NOED is not to get a one shot when gates are powered, it's to threaten survivors with the fact that you have it so they slow down on gens and do totems. I'd take slower gens over a one shot at end game any day.
That said, gate spawns need a fix anyway. They should never spawn too close or too far. There really needs to be a min/max distance. It sucks as killer when the gates are clear on opposite ends of the map, and it sucks for survivors when one gate is in full view of another gate. Case and point...
So because of that I'd say no to specifically this, however adding some kind of tell to NOED would be nice. What that could be IDK.

That's just how it goes and always worked. Yell long and loud enough so it gets a rework sooner or later.
0 -
I would rather the doors just do this by default. Nothing worse than being the sole survivor in a match with a killer who instantly finds the hatch and having the doors within sight distance of each other. 🙄
0 -
Another NOED post? 🤨
0 -
So basically you want this perk to be for masochists. The further the gates from each other the worse it's for killer. Your logic is flawed.
0 -
Has nothing to do with "dumbing it down" you're comparing randomness to skill as if counting a totem requires skill. A full 4 man team has this information without a totem counter, and so what if they "know the count" it forces people to look for totems if they still have 1 sneaky totem they haven't found instead of gen rushing.
0 -
You don’t need a totem counter since it doesn’t require skill to count. Everyone who is asking for a totem counter is asking for the devs to make the game easier, with less risk, and less responsibility for players.
The randomness in games is a good thing. The problem isn’t the totems, the problem is bad teammates. If you don’t like the randoms you’re paired up against, you could always make friends and play swf.

I do play in a swf and I play solo but I think closing the gap between swf and solo is important instead of forcing everyone to pair up into 4 man groups which gets complained about to no end as is. You're over simplifying what I said, It doesn't take skill to count but you have no idea what totems were already broken by other solos.
It has nothing to do with "less risk" noed counters gen rushers because they are not actively searching for totems. Placing a totem counter would entice people to keep looking and not pound generators so I'm not sure how it makes it "easier" for survivors if anything it makes it easier on the killer because now they have more time to search and hook without having to get sweaty.
0 -
Anyone asking for the gap between solo and swf is asking to make the game easier. No one is forced to pair up into 4 man teams. The game wasn't designed to have communication, if you want to bridge the game then the developers need to rework the game from the ground up.
As for totems, you are not obligated to feel relaxed knowing that you did all 5 totems. There is supposed to be some doubt so you could possibly waste some time looking for totems that may have already been cleansed. You are just making excuses to make things easier for solo play. Sweaty Killers are going to play sweaty no matter what. Survivors searching for totems will not change that.
0 -
That would make it obvious that the killer has the perk. People would just do the bones then.
