Corrupt intervention or discordance?

I've played this game for a while as a survivor but i'm just now starting to get into killer... I've gotten some good perks from the shrine and I recently started playing plague a lot. I really can't decide between running corrupt or discordance and didn't know if you guys had any suggestions or preferences to that.

Well, Corrupt stops 3 generators from being worked on for a good while, but Discordance is better throughout the game.

It is also widely believed that Discordance 1 is better than 3, since there are more notifications and therefore more reliable information. BUT survivors also work out pretty quickly that you have it.

Depends on the killer and the playstyle. I like permanency within my perk usage, so I'll say Discordance if I had to choose just one.

As a Myers main I prefer corrupt. Helps that crucial early game stalking

    I found CI too niche.

Discordance is a good tracking perk, and can help give you an edge. On its plus side it's non Hex, so can potentially work all game. Clutch in early game to find groups, but also end game when they want to risk working together to get the last gen. I think some people prefer Surveillance to Discordance, if they had a choice, for tracking.

Huh. I'm quite the opposite on Myers. I prefer Discordance to get multiple stalks off at once.

Corrupt can stall you some time early on in the match. Discordance is a great way to find 2 people or to know which gen they are working on throughout the match.

    Discordance:

    (+) Info throughout the match.

(-) They can work alone and prevent your perk.

    Corrupt:

(+) Stall time in the early game.

(-) Useless if they hide from you.

I personally would say it comes down to the killer you play, for example:

    • Trapper and Hag: Corrupt seems a good choice because you can use the time they are wasting to setup your traps.
    • Myers and Ghostface: They both stalk survivors. With discordance you know where two suvivors are and you can therefore stalk two people at the same time. (You could also run corrupt, i personally think discordance is better on these two).
    • Clown for example: This comes down to your choice, if you run corrupt they may hear your heartbeat and hide from you until the duration is off, but it can also stall you valuable time. If you run discordance then you know where two people are and even if they start hiding after they hear your heartbeat you know they can't be far away.

It's more a preference thing, you should test both and get your own feeling for these two perks. They are both very usefull and you do nothing wrong if you get both and test out both. If you like the info on where survivors are then go with discordance. If you like the early game stall then go with corrupt.

    I'd go for Discordance, i don't like early/late-only Perks.

Depends on Killer. Corrupt is great for Killers that require time to setup (I.e Trapper, Hag, Demo). But you need to have other perks to compensate that offset since once those 2 minutes are up, you now only have 3 perks to work with. I personally never found much usage in Discordance but maybe that's because I've always had better ways of tracking down Survivors whether it's based on the Killer or the perks I used. And when I have used it, Survivors tend to find out very quickly and stop doing 2 to a gen. Yes it's common for 2 to a gen, but I've had a Plethora of games where while I'm chasing a Survivor, 3 Survivors are working on 3 Gens simultaneously which makes it difficult to defend against.

My personal favorite in terms of tracking is Ruin/Surveillance. Hands down, it is the most effective duo in terms of map knowledge in the game (assuming of course you don't spawn in a map where your hex totem is sitting out in the open for all to see).

If you had to choose between them, i'd recommend discordance as a semi-decent tracking perk. However, if you don't have it in your loadout, I'd swap either of them with Whispers, as it gives you early pressure (like corrupt) and good tracking (like discordance) throughout the match.

I only run Corrupt on Trapper and Hag. I've completed gens in games as a survivor and didn't even know the killer had Corrupt. Just because you block off far away generators doesn't mean survivors are going to spawn there. You have 3 perks for the rest of the game after 2 minutes, and the perk you lose isn't guaranteed to impede the survivors. Rarely worth the perk slot IMO.

I think Pop/Discordance is the better combo

I noticed that current spawn points of survivors are kinda weird. If you run Discordance, you almost always notice that 2 or more survivors spawn directly on a gen most far away from the killer position. So Discordance on the one hand helps to find them and prevent the gen popping, but depending on killer I also find it hard to make good use of it.

The gen is already progressed at least 50% when you get there, and in many cases you just rush around the gen like a child disturbing pidgeons, or you commit to a chase and the gen gets finished in your back, while the 4th survivor had an easy time finishing the second gen. It can also be the other way round, you protect the gen and get some hits spread and then chase down one of them, being able to protect the gen and having easy follow up chases or healing forced them to not work on gens in the meantime.

But due to that common setup, I feel like Corrupt wastes a lot more time of survivors. And as survivor, I often notice killers with Corrupt checking the blocked gens first. I often wondered why, but the above pretty much explains that as well. So with this knowledge, you have almost no gen progress in the beginning and a quick first chase.

I was always a Discordance killer (regarding these two perks), but with the current survivor spawning (I could swear it was not always like that), I would recommend Corrupt Intervention. For Trapper and Hag without any doubt, they need some early game slowdown to setup their territory. It doesn't help them to know which gen is about to pop when they have no traps set up yet, and scaring them off to set traps to protect, not getting into chase and allowing everyone to see the trap setup will damage these killers more than it helps

Corrupt for me. It's like old ruin, it slows the game down A LOT. If I don't have it on my build then I expect to lose 2-3 gen in a chase.

Both are perks that can be very useful, but also completely useless.

Corrupt does a decent job of slowing the game down, but if the survivors just hide for the first couple of minutes, you won't get a whole lot of use out of it. It can make finding your first survivor much more difficult. Depends a lot on where the survivors spawn. If you get lucky, they won't know you have corrupt intervention.

Discordance helps find survivors working together, but if they work separately it won't get you anything. If you use DIscordance, definitely don't use the offering that separates the survivors at the beginning. (Actually don't use that anyway, its useless.) Potentially can help you find your first survivors easily though. A lot of times, when it could be useful, you can't get much use out of it because you're mid-chase with another survivor. With the upcoming nerf to repair times, this perk won't be quite as useful.

Survivors I go against wise up to the fact the fact I have it, and divide and conquer on gens. I use my M&A or dead rabbit to get up close to them and catch two of them on a gen.
