They haven't confirmed a time yet, but usually the updates are released at 11AM Montreal time (which I believe is EDT currently). That's not an official release time, though, just an estimate based on past patterns.

A more balanced game is good for everyone, more fun for one side and more reasonable queues for the other.

I think most people, in general, don't really care much for the charms at all. Some of them are cool yeah, but I never really liked them.
I'm more afraid that they won't make certain cosmetics because they might get in the way of charms. For example, the charms are really oddly placed with cosmetics such as Adams trench coat or Feng's cardigan.
I'm afraid the devs might not make cosmetics like that because of charms and I don't want charms to limit the cosmetics we get. I still want accessories on the left belt on pants cosmetics and I still want more long coats and jackets haha. But I can see the devs saying "Oh let's not make that, it would make the charms look odd". You know?

There is nothing of note in this patch if you ask me. So many maps felt the exact same but with a new coat of paint.

I'm a fan of charms - small things that look cool or pretty, especially if I can customise them, tend to disproportionately enhance my enjoyment of games, I'll admit. But I can understand why most people have a fairly neutral attitude towards them.
On the subject of coats and cardigans, I would like to think that they wouldn't stop adding that sort of thing to the game just because charms exist. The fact that those cosmetics exist certainly didn't stop them from adding charms in the first place. I'm sure they think about what charms will look like on an outfit when designing it, and maybe take that into account, but the art team are some pretty creative people. Somehow, I can't really see them letting a small practical consideration like charms get in the way of designing a really great outfit. It could even be a cool addition, if they did it right, to have some cosmetics where the charms are hidden underneath and are only revealed if the clothing gets lifted up or pushed back while the survivor is running or crouching.

I think this is the most excited I've been for a DBD Update in a while. I'll probably be waiting until Wednesday to play, but the maps have been my biggest complaint. From what I've seen, my complaints should be gone.

I hope so, not sure if it's a coincidence but I have noticed recently that if a legs cosmetic has any type of accessories hanging off the side of it, it's usually always on the right side and my OCD doesn't like that the left side is getting neglected possibly because of charms. I know, such a silly thing to worry about.

I'm just hoping it turns out better for both sides. The update felt awful on the ptb, because of the RNG. It felt more like you have basically 0 paletts and a ######### window or you have palett-city and still a strong window.
Hope they fixed it and survivors have still some paletts left. (And let me ask, why didn't they fix atleast the asylum. One of the strongest and unfun map as survivor. I am so annoyed by this map, because you have 0 paletts on that map on the ptb but still the abusable window setup.)

Until bloodlust is fixed to fit the "changes" they keep making, I don't think excitement is the feeling I have.
More like a "Let's wait and see how it plays out".
No one likes nerfs, but even worse no one likes changes that feel cheap, when you consider the cool posibilities those changes could have had.

I hope this finally cuts out some god loops, one thing I would've like to see was revamp the models, and looks of some of the older maps, I love the look and feel of the saloon map(aside from all the god loops) I wish they did this for more maps, when I heard they are reworking some of the maps, I personally hoped they would change the textures and design of them to add more uniqueness to them. Like change the look on the exit gates, or even the walls around the map that was a cool change. But we'll wait and see, another thing I hope they do is when we do an archive for one of the two killers, I hope they add a personal main menu theme for those who don't, and their own chase music, kinda how they did it for doctor. And maybe they did, we don't know. But it would be a nice idea though, but that's just me.

It's hilarious how they dealt with most of the windows, just slapped a door 3 feet from them. I mean why not just remove the windows entirely at that point? I think it makes the maps look goofy.
I was hoping they were going to turn them into interesting tiles with some mindgames but from what i've seen looking at 3.7 footage they are just free hits for the killer.
Especially grim pantry seems like a missed opportunity. What are you even supposed to do with this?

Many people. Streamers, my own friends and even people on these forums are talking about this exact thing.
Fixing the problem with another problem isn't a solution. I offered a suggestion where a 'depletion mechanic' would have gotten rid of the window BUT the survivor still got some use out of it. The more times the survivor vaults the window the more the window begins to deplete. See pic below:

Anyway. The point is that there is almost 0 possibilities to engage in a mindgame OR interaction with the killer other than surrendering a hook because you have nowhere else to go. This in the scope of many killers who already have the upper hand (like Oni) and where a vault is legitimately the only counter.
Of course my idea is only one of many, and it was mostly with the mindset of keeping it "fair" for BOTH sides. There is definitely more interesting tiles they could have converted these windows into.

Thank you! I didn’t make the suggestion with the intention for it to work on every window... but I’m sure in the right “window” Situation this could still apply.
My main objective was to show that the treatment being given to maps should have emphasis on allowing a mechanic that isn’t only solving the issue at hand but also providing a fun interaction between killer/survivor.
It would be something we haven’t seen in this game as far as vaults are concerned.

Well I hope they've looked at the Macmillan windows again before this goes to live, because a lot of the windows were.... questionably designed, and there's the ironworks one which can be an actual infinite. Apart from that and the inevitable bug or two that breaks something on the killer or survivor end I'm looking forward to this update as well as the hour long killer queue times.

I just wish charms could be seen in the lobby. Not just your own. Killer charms are quite visible in the match, but survivor charms are harder to see.
