Idea to remove the last second switch
I think most people that play killer already experienced this situation:
One or more survivors don't ready up,wait until the timer almost reaches the last 5 seconds where both sides aren't able to change their loadout anymore and switch to a different character that is usually equipped with strong offerings/perks/items leaving the killer no choice to prepare for that and often leads to very frustrating matches if multiple survivors choose to switch at the last second.
My suggestion would be that the loadout should already be locked in when the timer reaches the 15th second of the timer. That way the killer has enough time to decide whether he wants to play against the team of survivors in the lobby or not.

I can get behind this. The whole point of seeing what the Survivors are carrying is so a Killer can potentially strategise and things aren't thrown at them as a surprise, so the last-second switch thing is pretty much an exploit that's too janky to be in the game IMO.

I agree with this completely. It is even worse for me because, with the way the menu is now and my less than perfect eyesight, I can't see keys in the menu... so If I see someone change characters during that time I wont be able to see if they have a key... which means I have to play like they have a key when they might not have one...

They should just let the killer switch his loadout after the lock-in happens. Give them like 10-15 seconds to switch their stuff.

I believe that prior to searching for a match, that players should have to lock in their loadouts, excepting offerings.

I would only agree to this if i (as a survivor) can see other survivors loadouts. You say that killers dont have time to strategise, most of the time survivors i am playing with either dont talk or they cant speak english.

Survivors can discuss strategies for the matchi n chat, which in turn could affect the chosen loadout. Locking in before joining a lobby would simply be a nerf to solos. I prefer the suggestion of the op.

Killers just dont get it. I can be waiting 5 minutes to get in a lobby, just to wait another two minutes because im holding an item. Killers can just freely choose whether or not they want to experience a match with survivors that have items or not. If i dont hide the item I am carrying, I am going to be waiting way too darn long for a match that would not have been majorly affected by what i took. (i spend most of my points on killer, survivor points mostly go towards unlocking perks and thats it.)
A killer can be entirely picky at the expense of survivors wait times and gameplay experience.
Survivors dont get to choose whether or not they want to experience a mori match. They know nothing. They dont see the killers name. They dont know the cosmetics of the killer. They just enter a match hoping to have some fun or die trying.

I play as killer and I've had enough of groups swapping their characters at the last second. They start off as say a standard Claudette and then at the last second. I see Nea with items, Jane with items, David with items and a Meg with items. All with bough clothes on and stuff.
Survivors shouldn't be able to swap everything at the last second to sneak in all their stuff because it goes from a normal lobby to definately a swf lobby.
I agree this needs looking into because it's so unfair.

To be fair, if Killers would not have dodged so many Lobbies, Survivors would not have started with doing that Crap...

Sure, but you don't get kicked out of the lobby like before dedicated servers.

Putting blame on killers here isn't a good way to solve the issue. Both sides of the game are hurt here.
I think it would be a fair trade off to do two things:
Survivors lock in their items 30 seconds before the killer to give the killer prep time
Killer dodges after the lock-in are penalized via rank or timer

But then how are survivors supposed to cooperate? They already have a limited amount of time to discuss different things they can cooperate on. The game is already really bad for solo survivor, this would just make it even worse.
The only real solution, imo, is to make all perks, items, offerings, etc, visible before match, both for survivor and killer - and show survivors who are in a SWF together, or make ALL of those things hidden, both for survivor and killer. Possibly with the exception of killer add-ons.
You shouldn't be dodging lobbies just because survivors bring items anyway.

Well, it was not meant to blame, but if Survivors would be allowed to bring Stuff without the risk of being dodged, they would not need to do a last second switch. I dont like this either and I am not doing it, but I can totally understand why it is done.
I doubt that your idea will find much appreciation tho. Killers will most likely not like to get penalized because they want to cherry-pick their games. (Like, if someone is such a Killer who checks every Steam Profile to see how long the Survivors are playing or if they are playing in an SWF, this will easily take 30 seconds)
But personally, I like that idea.

If I ever get a last second switcher, which isn't that common. I tunnel them and take them out of the game. No remorse from me. If they pull that, they deserve to have that experience.
