BHVR why are you so consumer unfriendly? [ANTI ALIASING]

You should have seen the twitter post announcing his passing

Ok?
0 -
Yea my eyes hurt with this AA
0 -
I will never understand people who think the FOV should be adjustable... It makes no sense.
0 -
As long as it stays between the balanced boundaries I see nothing bad but only positiv things in it.
0 -
@Peanits @PatBrutal @McLean can you make a statement about that?
3 -
depends, is the game competative or casual?
if competative when why have all these immense game skewing additions like mori's, key's, add ons, items etc
if casual...then why cant I change my fov / have proper support for a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor? even CSGO supports that and that is about as competative as gaming gets.
0 -
And here we go, live build has this garbage of AA aswell forced on us. And the devs are STILL radio silent about it. What are these devs, honestly?
5 -
we need answers please
3 -
People were turning off AA to see red light under the walls from what I've heard
edit: seems I heard wrong, ignore this
0 -
This has nothing to do with AA as far as I know. AA is a post processing tool.
1 -
That wasn't related to AA. People were doing other things to see the red stain.
5 -
@Peanits @not_Queen @PatBrutal @McLean @mcote why are you guys dodging this question for 4 years now? This isn't something we costumers wanted just recently. We wanted this since day 1 of its release. And Now, after you guys took us everything away to make the game somewhat playable you guys still keep dodging.
3 -
Another impatient person, isn't it?
You guys want everything to be added, nurfed and buffed but you can't understand there's a list. The devs can't just add things up like that. Also, have you tried making everything you listed? From the small experience I have with coding I can tell you that you don't press one button and you're finished. I would speculate it would take em, for everything you listed, at least 1 month of work or more, and since they are working from home I would speculate 2 months.
Since you love to complain do them yourself, now that you obviously have free time.

Actually, it takes a few hours for a developer to put in a menu option that changes a boolean to true/false in unreal (Unless you have spaghetti code).
This is MUCH different from a balance issue, it’s an issue that keeps everyone with motion sickness or anything of the sort from playing the game (killer side more, but it’s first person so oh well).
6 -
What did I just read.. Just play the game you both and stop messing with the files.
0 -
The point of these discussions is that some people CANNOT play the game because the game is very slow/ very blurry and disorienting.
4 -
How is it blurry and disorienting just for those people and not the other 90%? And i'm actually pretty sure that this is not the reason OP and a few other people on here mess with the files. I've seen the effects it can have on what you're able to see in-game.
0 -
It actually isn't what you're saying, because the adjust system doesn't exist. With a few words they would need to make it able to adjust the game stats and then create the menu system. I could be wrong tho, dunno, I don't have much experience xd.
But the point still stands, it's tough doing 3000 things simultaneously, so just wait
0 -
...Because 90% of people who play this game don’t have those ailments? I doubt 90% of people don’t think the game isn’t way too blurry with AA on, and if you don’t believe it is blurry it doesn’t mean everyone else thinks the same and it doesn’t mean you should assume anyone who wants to change the blurriness is nefarious.
0 -
It's not.
0 -
Ok
1 -
What do you meeaaan with impatient? I waited over 3 years how much longer do I have to wait??
1 -
You have absolutely no standing on what other people interpret as "too blurry" or "too slow" or "disorienting." Just because you don't suffer from the things that make the game (with AA) inaccessible to other people doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed whatsoever, that's just horrible game design. Especially in a game that relies so much on sight, why would you force a blur over the entire screen when you're supposed to look at things. Better yet, why would the devs say colorblind settings would give some people an unfair advantage by making things like scratch marks (which you're already SUPPOSED to see) brighter or a different color? It makes absolutely zero sense as to why they won't give any statement or make any change about this at all. I get the whole "list" thing, but why does a list stop them from making any statement about it at all?
In closing, you can't speak for other people.

Well said.

"I dOnT hAvE iSsUes wItH tHaT sO nOoNe eLsE cAn hAvE it"
3 -
At the end of the day you do have a point and I do support the portion of people on here who are lobbying for various settings (e.g. disabling AA) to be implemented into the game for everyone to use. However if you read closely this is not what what a lot of people replying to this thread are after and I stand by my original comment.
0 -
Sure, that's what I said 😉
0 -
Then tell me where you pulled out the 90%. Can't? That's what I thought.
2 -
I don't need evidence to have an opinion just like you don't need it to have yours. Regardless, you did miss the point point of the comment, which is "And i'm actually pretty sure that this is not the reason OP and a few other people on here mess with the files. I've seen the effects it can have on what you're able to see in-game."
0 -
Ah the legendary backtrack, I saw it coming miles away lol
2 -
I stand by everything I said, my friend, including my accusation towards you. Not backtracking on anything.

Double standards as always.

Double standards as always.
0 -
Double standards of what, exactly? I don't see how anything I wrote was a double standard whatsoever. Instead of typing one sentence responses, how about you actually elaborate on your points for once?
3 -
They already commented about this in the big thread.
It was changed because people were using the same method to make the red stain twice as bright as intended, remove fog & grass and various other things. To stop those thing from happening they had to block everything which included disabling AA.
They're supposed to be working on an ingame way to turn AA off but that will take awhile I'm sure.
In meantime you can turn on AF x16 and FXAA to help combat the blurry with very little extra performance loss (same exact GPU usage for me on low setting)
or turn on AF x16 and enable MSAA at a slight performance cost (+4% GPU usage for me on low setting) which helps quite a bit

Open your eyes then , there's a lot of thread about it
0 -
Instead of talking bs you should grow up
0 -
I have added a "More Graphics option" Wish to that optimization thread! Upvote it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/147472/more-graphics-settings
having to call bhvr out to implement a basic thing that isn't hard to implement is sad because we shouldn't have to.
0 -
We are calling them out for years already, they don't give a F
7 -
I know.
But hey, they got this fancy forum nowadays. They might hear us this time, with enough upvotes in that particular thread.
0 -
Will we continue ignoring this BHVR? Just sets it more in stone how much you care about your consumers as money milk machines instead of humans who would enjoy supporting a good game.
2 -
agree probably every low pc user cant play this game anymore.....
I can play .... but with blurry textures , fps drops ..... but i can play ..... this is torture devs ;(
0 -
Oh look, the mods found a reason to lock the high popular 3.7.0 anti aliasing post on this forum so it doesn't keep getting bumped up.
I will continue bumping this one here instead.
4 -
Skins don't matter if the game is barely functioning with ducktape for code. BHVR really needs too stop being lazy and spend a good few months fixing their spaghetti code. Amount of bugs that appear in every single update is just stupid at this point.
2 -
Here are more cosmetics.
Buy our Battlepass.
2 -
Having worked on a Unity project myself, and that is a much easier engine to use than what BHVR is using (Unreal), I can safely say they definitely need those few months to fix the spaghetti code. If they even can.
The thing about Spaghetti code is that you aren't really sure on what to fix. Some glitches may happen and you're not even sure how to fix it or where to start. I am having issues with spawning enemies in my own Unity project and it took hours just to figure out what went wrong.
It's fair to call them out for the spaghetti code, but from what I've seen in some threads, abusing them isn't going to make them work faster or harder. I know some devs that don't care, BHVR is not one of them, sure they may seem incompetent from time to time (There's a reason Dedicated Servers is a meme), but they are still actively working on the game rather than just taking the money and run with it.
Of course, DBD is a live game, so it is expected that they would continuously work on it. But given the rest of the industry's standards, they do somewhat standout.
2 -
??? I'm just saying that they need too fix their code, that's not abusing them lol.
1 -
I know, and I'm saying the same thing.
Though other people definitely are not doing that and just instead would rather dump their frustrations on the devs.
0 -
I knew I bookmarked this thread for a reason! And as you said somewhere, it's funny to think that people in their right mind will down vote the topic about graphics option being brought up to the attentions of the devs. Like are you seriously against convenient options that are present in any other game? lol
