Question about Coms in this game?
First off all id like to say thankyou for the much needed update today!
My question is about COMS and why isn't it a feature in game?
Ive seen that apparently the devs are perfectly fine with coms. so I wonder if its totally fine, then why isn't it just a normal feature ingame? why wasn't it brought in alongside SWF etc? why bother using third party websites when u could just patch in coms ? I don't get it.

The way I see it, the people who want to use comms can, and the ones who don't don't have to. I wouldn't be opposed to them putting in comms by default, but I would only be okay with it if you could opt out/leave the channel. I wouldn't want to be on that voice chat, so I'd want the option to turn it off essentially, kind of like they have in Overwatch.

I dont know, but I would like to see this feature added.

Cause ingame voicechats are cancer?

Because not everyone wants comms in a round. You could just end up with people playing music or screaming down the mic when you are trying to play. External software means you talk to people you want to talk to.

Well the devs or mods here have stated before it does nothing bad for the health off the game. so I don't get why it isn't here if that's the case.

that's a fair point. how come they haven't done it yet then? do you think.

Just mute them or don't allow coms communication in as a default so you never have to deal with this. pretty simple.

Last thing I want to hear is how someone tells me what I should do in the random queue match.
Voice chats would also affect network latency. I don't really want to get a hit while someone is talking

Also, I am sure you have seen how toxic the post game chat on PC can be. Can you imagine the voice chat version of that?
If you're the killer and they are constantly telling you how ######### you are atthe game etc. Survivors selling out other survivors locations to save themselves. It would be awful. I prefer it the way it is. If I play with friends I can talk to them about the game or my day etc if Inplay solo I can ignore the party invites and play in peace and if I'm the killer I can send a "gg wp" at the end of any game I win or lose and head off.

I understand your points mate. which is why it could be an option to choose. hear voice coms or not, for either side.
just like how u can mute the chat window in game. its the same thing.

I think personally just because it's kind of... Unnecessary? Not that it would help nobody but more that, like I said before, people who want to chat probably are already using Discord or something. I personally think it might be kind of nice for people to have the option to hear people on their team, if they would like to, but I'm just personally not a fan of people.

then you can just mute them

That is true but then if everyone just starts muting people, what is the point of it being there in the first place? You won't know whether I have muted you or not and will be waffling on in game and I'm just ignoring you.
Don't get me wrong. I would love proximity chat and I would even use it in SWF like I used to on Friday The 13th years ago but my experience of random Friday the 13th proximity chat was really depressing. Constant screeching and gibberish.
