This May be the Beginning of the Death of DBD
As someone who has played this game since launch, this recent patch is the absolute most hated patch yet.
Poor balancing options, more bugs, deadzones, AA and V-Sync being forced, not to mention they still have dedicated servers enabled despite them making every aspect of the game worse.
Personally for me, what is making me quit DBD is the forced anti-aliasing that makes the game look like blurry dogshit, which causes eye pain and headaches for me, making the game literally unplayable.
I really don't want this game to die, it may never be as fun and addicting as it was 2 years ago, but I hope the devs get their ######### together before their game dies.

It seems as though every time a new adjustment happens people claim that it will be the death of the game. Either the doomsday projections for the game are over dramatic, or this game is a cat with 9 lives.

Look at the threads man, they are the worst i've ever seen. The worst being the forced AA that makes it impossible to play, plus the huge fps drop a lot of people are getting because of that and forced V-Sync.

I'm a console pleb and I don't even know what AA is so I doubt dbd will die there.
13 -
Nah DBD will thrive on console no matter what. It's the PC community that will possibly die.

Sorry mate, I don't know what you're on about. Its like this every time an nerf/buff comes around, so I don't see how its worse at all. There are bugs that need to be fixed sure, but it is far from the death knell for the game. I believe the player count is even rising, but I could be wrong on that. The amount of people playing is going to drop when we are out of quarantine, but that's to be expected for every game.

What's aa?

Same I’m so confused lol

If gets rid of jagged edges. For example if you ever played a game on PS2, or GTA V you’ll notice things like telephone wires etc aren’t straight lines they are really jaggy.
AA clears that up but some types of AA are a bit crap and tend to just leave the image looking blurry, FXAA is a type of AA that is known for this. It sounds like DBD has this issue at the moment.

I already said this 3 weeks ago here
This patch is making the game gen rush or die. and eveyone even killers will understand after time this is not a good change.
2 -
Oh okay, thank you

By gen rushing what do you mean? Do you mean completing the objective, because survivors were already doing this pre-patch if I'm not mistaken.

This game died when ruin got nerfed

It's taken me 3 matches to see how survivors have gone to winning matches easily. No matter what, they all now stand on seperate Gens, and I'm no genius here, but it's impossible to stop the other 3 as you chase 1. All my games so far have ended in all 4 escape, or 1 death. I like the changes to the maps, but the changes to gens didn't do anything imo. If anything, the matches seem to end way faster now.

Sucks for low end pcs like mine :/

It's probably all in your head. Try playing as efficiently as possible and time how long it takes for the gens to get done. It's relatively easy science and would probably be interesting to examine.

Game will never die. Resurgance after Candyman (maybe) comes out next month. Doomsayers eat ######### yet again.

A lot of threads about aa I play on low settings and it's ruining my fps and it's making my games blurry. We need options to disable it. Turning on aa didn't even fix the bloodstain problem devs were talking about. Making it unplayable for people who play with low settings.

If you look around the youtube videos that are about anticipating the upcoming update, everyone really loves this new patch and literally 5% of the playerbase actually cares about the forced AA thing. I don't even know what anti aliasing really does but then again, I don't care.
This isn't the death of DBD. It's the beginning of a new chapter of the game where developers finally experiment with new map looks, loops and other things to be in both the Killer's and the Survivors' favor.
Stop overreacting. DBD isn't going anywhere.

Antialiasing does this.

Idea: Add a downscaling/supersampling option. Much better than AA. :D

That would be up to the graphics team; I'm not involved in those decisions. :)

Do all of us owners of high end hardware a favor and sneak into their office tonight and write it on their "To-Do" whiteboard. We'll be eternally grateful.

Considering how disorienting the blur can be and the performance degradation on computers, why can't we have it toggleable?

Pretty sure the game died after the ruin nerf oh wait.....
Swear to jeebus every time a new patch drops that has changes one side does not like we get these low post count drama queens in here spreading the end is nigh posts.
We get it you cant handle change. Adapt or quit cause no one cares.

Oh my Almo....what are you trying to blur. ☺ (Sorry I'm bored)

The problem with the solution your team is implementing, rather than this oversimplification that implies it only smooths out the edges, is that it applies to the ENTIRE screen space. This causes problems for a lot of players not just in that it makes the image less clear, but players such as myself with poor eyesight suffer from severe eyestrain and headaches as a result of this vaseline-like solution. Unless I want a migraine for hours on end it's not going to be possible for me to play your game when you're going to force us to have this setting enabled. Virtually no game on PC in 2020 has as few in-game graphical options as Dead by Daylight does.

Speaking for just myself, I agree with The_Horde. Less because of any real consideration and more because I see a slew of threads complaining about literally anything and everything Devs do. Case in point:
There may be legitimate complaints to be has, but I can't take these kinds of threads seriously enough to think there's anything to them. It's not worth navigating the sea of negativity to find the occasional buoy of true issues.

HEY!! This time I mean it! I'm going to run away and never come back! Don't come looking for me cuz I hate you mom!

I don't even know what's hard to understand for the devs team...
Players can"t play the game because :
-FPS drop is insanly huge
-AA is destroying people's brain and eyes
In addition apparently survivors now just spread on different gens and you cannot apply pressure as a killer on 3 different gens while chasing someone .
Am i from Mars or something or is it hard to understand and correct?

Some people loves this update some hates it. Either way you can’t state that it’s the worst one of the worst ones that kills the game (loool). Bugs are bugs. They are always around but get fixed eventually. Forced ghrapics options should be indeed changed, but I’d say that doesn’t affect the majority of the player base at all. About poor balance...what do you mean? It is the best patch they ever released by far in terms of balance. Not listening to useless complaints from whiny survivors and fixing the broken unfair maps is a right step to the good direction that may eventually make the infamous balance team catch up with their amazing design team. 2 years ago this game was everything but fun or balanced. Insta heals, old DS, ass destroyer Nurse while other killers were hopeless etc. I would take this version of the game over any other even with the bugs.

They had it in the game all the way back in 2016. I remember making my game look like doom2 with it.

HA’ sounds familiar. cough cough meta survivor.

Maybe.

Personally i think patch 1.9.2 was the worst. The one that made it super easy to pallet stun or flashlight blind a killer in pick up animation. Thank the entity the devs reverted it but its tragic they were the ones who thought it was a good idea.

"am I from Mars or something"
Lol I ask this myself very often, so simple stuff yet after 3 years still to complex for them apparently.

Guess every update in DBD is doomsday
This makes number what now?
